How do I switch out of bridge mode

My airport is not working, I called apple and they said it is in bridge mood and I need to put it on a shared network, How do I do that?

I need to put it on a shared network, How do I do that?
Are you still running OS X 10.6.8 as your profile indicates?
If yes, you would open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilties > AirPort Utility, select the AirPort and click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon at the top of the screen, then click the Internet Connection tab
Change the setting for Connection Sharing to "Share a Public IP address"
Click Update to save the changes and allow 30 seconds for the AirPort to restart.
If you are running Lion 10.7.x or Mountain Lion 10.8, then the instructions provided by Nachos Libres would be right on the money.

  • Airport Express: How to switch out of Bridge Mode

I have an Airport Express connected to a Westell 7500 Modem/Router.
Talking with Airport Express support from Apple today they told me that since I was running in Bridge mode there
was limited amount of support that they could provide. Since my AE is only provisioning wireless.
I'd like to change that. I suspect that on the AE I need to unconfigure Bridge Mode.
The Apple person said that the modem would need be configured from 'Private IP to Public IP'.
In the config for the Westell there is an Advanced/Lan/Private Lan which is enabled and has a DHCP start address of 10.0.0.2
    and end address of 10.0.0.33.
There is also an Advanced/Lan/Public Lan page which is currently disabled.
It has Public LAN DHCP Server Enable, Public Lan Enable, Public Lan IP address (set to 0.0.0.0), and Public Lan Subnet Mask (set to 0.0.0.0).
Are these the areas I need to change?
I'm currently using two of the Ethernet ports on the Westell. One feeds into the Airport Express.
The other is connected to one of my Windows 7 PC's.
Thanks for any advice or help!

I think my concern is support as we are becoming more Apple centric.
I would suggest that you check with your Internet service provider to see if they can furnish you with a simple modem.....not a modem/router or gateway device.
Then, Apple will fully support that setup....and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will as well.
If you are thinking of trying to configure your modem/router to function as a simple bridge mode modem, it might be a good idea to first ask your ISP.....
    1) if this is even possible and, if so,
    2) how to do this, and
    3) if they will support you when the device is configured this way.
I would be very surprised if your ISP will satisfy all three conditions above, so if service and support is important as you state, you might want to think of both your ISP and Apple in that regard.

  • ActionTec router MI424-WR is in Bridge Mode...how do I get it out of bridge mode?

    Hello,
I'm a first time poster.  I have raised this question to first level tech support and I was recommended to perform a hard reset of the router, which did not help.
when I log into the admin page of my Actiontec router my router is being displayed as being in BRIDGE mode.   The router is connected to the ONT via MocA.
The router appears to work fine, however I had wished to create a bridge in my home using a DD-WRT enabled Linksys router I'd already owned.   I wanted to bridge this router to the Actiontech but I kept getting IP conflicts.   My speculation was that this was occurring because the Actiontec was already in BRIDGE mode.
I was hoping that someone could either help me get it out of BRIDGE mode (I assume that is not the default per Verizon installation) or if not, any suggestions.
Would this warrant Verizon sending me a new N-band router?  If so, does anyone know if those are 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz or just 5.0 Ghz
    Thanks in advance!
    Scott

when I log into the admin page of my Actiontec router my router is being displayed as being in BRIDGE mode.
Where exactly is this bridge mode displayed that you're referring to?
Main page?  Network Connections page?  Or where?
    A screenshot would help.
If you've done a hard reset on the router, there should be no bridges configured or displayed.

How are you "bridging" the DD-WRT router?  Actiontec LAN to DD-WRT LAN, or Actiontec LAN to DD-WRT WAN?
If you're bridging LAN-to-LAN, you need to pick an IP address for the DD-WRT router that is not in use on your LAN.
You can change the Actiontec's DHCP assignment range to reserve a range of IP addresses for static addresses.
If you pick a low range (e.g. 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.10) be sure you reboot all your devices on the LAN so that all devices get new DHCP leases. By default, the Actiontec hands out DHCP leaases starting at 192.168.1.2.
Here's the recommended method for connecting an extra router:
Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router
If you're using a LAN-to-WAN connection, you shouldn't be getting IP address conflicts as the two routers should be on different subnets.

The VZ "N" routers are 2.4Ghz only.  No 5Ghz.

Google "DFU mode", put it in that mode and Restore it in iTunes.
    And stay away from jailbreaking.

What exactly are you trying to do? PVRs are for recording from TV not computers.
Either way, if it's complaining about DOS mode, it's Windows oriented software and not Mac compatible.

  • How can I get out of recovery mode?

How can I get out of recovery mode without restoring my iPod?

    Try using Yamipod.
    http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/downloads/
Make sure iTunes is closed before you use yamipod.
Another issue I have heard about if are in Windows is a Parental Controls conflict with iTunes and your iPod trying to access the iTunes Server for the Restore Software Update.
Make sure there are no firewalls blocking it if you are on a Mac.
Try that, if not, post again.

  • How to change Cisco EPC2425 into bridge mode

    Hi,
I need help regarding how to chage ECP2425 into bridge mode. I have Wireless NAS drive router which has its own DHCP and NAT service. At the moment my Wireless Timecapsule (NAS Drive) is in bridge mode and connected to EPC2425 with ethernet cable. Everything is fine. But in order to access my timecapsule over the internet, I need to use its (timecapsule)'s NAT service. For this, I need to put EPC2425 which is my first point of access from internet, into bridge mode or atleast disabled its (EPC2425) NAT service. Unfortunately, I am not been able to find NAT or Bridge mode option on EPC2425. I will appreciate if anyone can help me out in this case. I need to change my EPC2425 router into bridge mode or gateway mode.
    Thank you very much

    Hi Azhar,
Thank you for your question.  However, this community is for Cisco Small Business Products and the DPC/EPC2425 is not a Cisco Small Business Product.
Your product is an internet service provider (ISP) supported product.  In other words you need to contact your ISP or technology reseller that you purchased this from to help you with your question.

  • HOW DO I GET OUT OF RECOVERY MODE?

Simple question, but seems to be hard to answer. Maybe nobody knows the answer. i have posted and posted time after time and no body gives me an answer. Go to clean up. ok been and done that. nothing happens. run pc scandisk. did it. nothing happened. connect to pc. did it. it does connect. i can get stuff off my nomad muvo 2 but for some reason
I CANNOT GET OUT OF RECOVERY MODE.
Could someone, anyone, give me a fricking straight on how to get the **bleep** out of RECOVERY MODE. I didn't spend $70 dollars on this piece of crap for it to not work.
So for the love that is all good and pure in the world, could someone please, please, getting on knees and begging for someone to help? And do not, and i repeat DO NOT REFER ME TO THE FRICKING RECOVERY MODE HELP THING, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HELP. SO DON'T BOTHER TYPING THAT IN.

I have a Zen Micro Photo and have been frustrated for many weeks. Sometimes a certain sequence is the key to success. I tried everything to no avail. I could not even get the Zen to charge with my Computer or wall outlet. I was stuck in Recovery Mode Hell. Of course, my battery drained and you must have a charge to upgrade the Firmware or do anything else. I even ordered a new battery on eBay. In the meantime, I purchased a **competitor** MP3 player which is the absolute best I have ever seen. Anyway, I read the Post here suggesting you try a certain sequence---which I then tried---and it worked for me. Somehow, I was able to get a charge from my PC last night. Without being hooked up to the PC I did the sequence (it would get locked up in Recovery Mode as soon as I hooked up to the PC anyway). My PC would simply refuse to recognize the Zen Micro Photo no matter what I did. As suggested, from Recovery Mode I clicked on "reformat", and when it was done I clicked on "reboot"--which it did. I then plugged in the USB cable and to my extreme surprise my PC recognized the player! I had downloaded the correct firmware file so I clicked on it. It opened and asked me if I really wanted to install this Firmware update as my player already had this Firmware installed. Really? I did a Format and I thought I erased the Firmware. I told setup to upgrade the Firmware anyway--which it did. Suddenly, my player started "reloading" its Library! I now have a working Zen Micro Photo (and a new **competitor**). I transferred a few MP3's to the Zen and they play just fine. I am serious when I say I tried everything-----over and over again. The player just remained locked in Recovery mode. It was this certain sequence that worked for me and possibly may work for you. This was my last attempt before the trash bin. Prices have fallen drastically for MP3 players and quality has improved (**competitor**), but I am happy that I now have two working MP3 players. One of them is going on eBay---any guess which one?

  • How do I switch out of full screen in OS 10.10

I am really frustrated by some of the features in OS 10.10.  When I click on the green button in the top left of a window, the window fills the screen.  I can't bring up the doc and I lose my menu bar unless I mouse to the top of the screen.  Clicking the green button used to just fill the screen with the window but I could still see the menu bar and access the doc.  How do I get out of full screen mode (I can't see any button to click that will do that) so that I can see my menu bar all the time and access my dock.  Is there a way to turn off this new green button feature and go back to the old way?

  • How To Access Files Remotely In Bridge Mode?

Hey guys, so I've got a TC and my roomate has a TC the only way we can get them both to work is hooked up to our router and placing both TC's to Bridge Mode. The issue is in Bridge Mode we've lost a lot of remote functionality. The main thing we both want to do is access our files when we're on the go. Is there a way to remotely access our TCs in bridge mode? I'm pretty techy so I'm open to any creative solutions.

but how will this solve the problem where I don't see "Share disks over WAN" on my TC?
The TC does not need that option....since it is already in Bridge Mode.
If the TC were also your router.....then it would be providing DHCP and NAT service....and the option to "Share..." would be needed....so it would appear so you could allow or open the WAN port. The example that Tesserax provides assumes that the TC is also the router......providing DHCP and NAT service.
You have a different layout. Another device is providing the DHCP and NAT routing, and the TC  is in Bridge Mode.
Are you saying that option will become available when my TC sees the approptiate port is open?
You don't need the "option" at all in Bridge Mode.  All ports are already open when the TC is in Bridge Mode. There is no WAN port in Bridge Mode....it automatically becomes a LAN port, so no need to "open" a port if it is already "open".

  • How to setup time capsule in Bridge Mode

How do I set up my airport base station in Bridge Mode?

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the base station, then click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window that appears
Insure that the setting for Router Mode = Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update and wait a full minute for the base station to restart
It would be a good idea to also.....
Power off both your main router and the base station
    Wait a minute or two
Start up the main router first and let it run a full minute
Start up the base station next the same way

  • How do I set up Full Bridge Mode for port fowarding?

How do i go about setting up Full bridge mode, for port forwarding on my Airport extreme's ? I Have two working to get coverage in my house, but I guess they need to be bridged together

For most routers, including the AirPorts, bridge mode disables both the NAT & DHCP services. Since NAT is disabled, all of the firewall ports on the AirPort are open and thus port mapping/forwarding would not be reqiured. Therefore if you configure your AirPort as a bridge, the port mapping optios will not be available.
Since you have two AirPort routers, you would only need to configure the AirPort that is NOT in bridge mode for port mapping to allow communicaton coming in from the Internet. This would typically be the AirPort attached directly to the Internet.

  • How to get ipad out of recovery mode?

how do I get my ipad OUT of recovery mode.  i don't want anything deleted.

If you are already in recovery mode, then your data is already lost. Your only option is to restore through iTunes then reload your most recent backup which you say was some time ago. This is why you need to backup everything at least once a week. Then when problems arise, you haven't lost a lot of information.
