If your old hard drive works, you can put it in an external usb enclosure and copy your entire iTunes folder to your new computer. Otherwise, if you have to copy music from your phone to your computer that wasn't purchased from the iTunes store you'll have to use 3rd party to do so, such as Touch Copy (PC or Mac) or PhoneView (Mac only).

If for some odd reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:
File>transfer Purchases

Just as its shown above- my old laptop and itunes are unavailable, and of course my new itunes is empty. If i sync my iphone to an empty itunes, everything on it will be erased. is there any way that i can sync it without losing everything on it? i've had it for almost 2 years, its packed with stuff!

By waiting until you have all five of your authorizations used and the then you can deauthorize all the computers. See:

- Transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like on of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. -

Ok so sorry for clogging the community!! I figured it out - you have to copy your videos into itunes manually. I did that, synched and all good!
