How do I sync my AIFF audio to my NTSC 29.97fps video?  It's out of sync.
If searched the forums looking for an easy fix.  It has to be a common problem with a simple solution, yes?

Surely you have a backup of your old laptop?  If you don't, follow this tip from wjosten... https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
Then, purchase an external hardrive and backup your new computer.

  • Audio and Video become increasingly out of sync when watching a movie.

When I watch a movie from my itunes folder (purchased) the audio and video become increasingly out of sync. It is like watching an old Godzilla movie. I am using itunes on a Dell XPS M1530 running windows 7. Does anyone have a solution to this? I am not sure if I have a hardware problem or a software problem.
    Thanks,

  • N8 Video editor.. out of sync audio

Every time i try and join 2 or more videos taken with my N8 using the video editor, the audio gets out of sync after the first video.
    Has anyone else notice this?

I'm really shocked that this issue hasn't been resolved with the Belle Update. They've made some good changes to the video editor, now allowing you to save a project before you're finished, etc. However, I can't understand how they haven't spotted and resolved this problem by now. Anyone from Nokia care to respond? This really does ruin an otherwise very promising piece of software!

  • When I delete a clip's audio the red box appears as if it's out of sync

Once I've decided I don't need a clip's audio I go ahead and delete it. It's not out of sync at all FYI. Once I delete the audio the red box with the numbers show up as if I've just made the video go out of synch with the audio even though all I did was delete. Why is this happening and how I can fix this? I've tried MARK IN SYNC and it's helped before but it's not helping now.

  • TS1362 All of the movies I have rented or purchased from iTunes in the last 4 months fail to play properly. The audio and video are constantly out of sync. I have followed the iTunes suggestions to correct this, however nothing has worked. (Windows 8)

I am using a Dell inspiron 14z, with Windows 8, and before that a Dell with Windows XP. This is also happening on my iPad. For the last four months, none of the movies or television shows I have rented or purchased from iTunes have played properly. The audio and video are out of sync. I have tried the troubleshooting measures iTunes suggested, however nothing seems to work. I have read on the community that this has been a problem for users in the past, and have attempted to try some of the fixes individual users have suggested also. Again, nothing seems to work. At this point I am frustrated, as we purchase or rent almost exclusively from iTunes. I would appreciate a support-staff person response. Thank you so much.

this problem has been going on for windows users for over a year now.
Apple has no solution to this problem.

  • MP4 video files have out of sync audio?

When I import an MP4 video into Premiere Pro CS5.5, I noticed that while playing it the audio gradually becomes out of sync. I am unsure as to what causes this, but when I play the exact same video in an external player (like VLC) the audio is fine.
I've tried using Audition to export the audio from the video as a WAV file, but upon importing that into PP CS5.5, I discovered that it becomes much worse.
I'm not sure at this point if the audio is the issue or the video is the issue, but I'd really like an answer.
Audio settings are at 48 kHz for the audio itself and the sequence in Premiere Pro.
    Thanks.

  • Videos... Audio/Video - its all out of sync..

I have been using pspware to convert movies and music vids to my ipod - no problems. Now i have converted a music vid this morning and the music and video seems to be all out of sync. The lips are moving - but the sounds is ahead of it.
    Any ideas why this is???
    Help....

Find two sync points - one near the beginning and one near the end - maybe a syllable of speech, where you can see the mouth movements?
Put separate markers on your video and audio at all four points. Adjust the speed of the audio until the markers align.
You can calculate the new speed you need if you measure the lengths on the timeline accurately, and get the markers to match within a frame - plenty good enough over the whole timeline.

  • Two synced video clips come out of sync in the middle

I am working on a two camera project and I have synced the cameras using a sync point. At first the videos remain in sync and play fine, but shortly into playback the tracks come out of sync. I have not moved any of the tracks. How do I keep this from happening?
I am using Final Cut Express HD 4 and am working from an external hard drive. It is a Lacie 500GB -8Mb Cache - 7200RPM Mini Hub. The max interface transfer rate is 400Mbits/s for firewire and 480Mbits/s for USB 2.0

Does the video from the two cameras go out of sync with each other or the audio? What are the item properties for the two clips?

  • My itunes video's are out of sync

    hey guys
my music videos are out of sync------when i play them the sound always comes before the video if you know what i meen
    any ways to fix this
    cheers
    jack

Are they legally or illegally downloaded videos? If they are illegal, check that the original file isnt out of sync. If it isn't, and you used a program to format the video to play on ipod, play the formatted version on your computer and see if that is out of sync or not. I suspect that this will be the case as a lot of programs out there don't do very good jobs of formatting videos.
If you did it legally though, I'm not sure how you'd solve the problem.

  • Video is going out of sync

So I don't recall any upgrade before this issue began. Upon opening an old fcp project file a few of the tapes appear to have gone slightly out of sync. This is not a gradual sync issue that frequently results from audio rate mismatching. It's like the whole tape is five to ten seconds off from the source audio captured at the same time. The strange thing is that when I render out the video it appears in sync. Also when I use the slip tool the reference frames in the viewer window shows the correct frames as far as I can tell.
What's even more strange is that footage I just captured for a new project seems to be doing the same thing and it only happens on some tapes. Other tapes work fine. Another way around this issue that I've found is to nest the sequence. When nested the correct video plays. It's really weird.
It's been a nightmare to edit. I constantly have to flip back and forth between sequences and the exact edit is always a guess and check process requiring rendering frequently just to see if the cut is correct.
I am and have always been editing 24p advanced footage. None of my settings have changed. This issue popped up out of nowhere.

If you are running FCP 4.5 and OSX 10.4.9, >>THIS THREAD<<</a> may be of interest.

  • Video - dialog goes out of sync with video

When I play Movies or T.V. shows on my iTouch the dialog (or audio) gets out of sync with the video. It starts happening after about 5 minutes of play. I close out of the video, re-open it and it's back in sync again for about another 5 minutes.
I had a second generation iTouch and have just purchased a 3rd gen iTouch and it does it on both. It happens on every movie or t.v. show I watch.
    Any suggestions?

I really appreciate your help. I tried it with the link you provided and it appears it's the wrong format type. The one I'm trying to convert is a .wmv file. I think that link was mainly for mpegs.
I did successfully convert a 3rd movie .wmv file using videora, so I have to think the problem lies with this one movie clip. What could it be? It plays fine on my computer! The video itself is fine after the conversion too, it's just moving too fast as if in fast forward mode. Then when the video ends (before the music, cuz it's not in sync), the video keeps backing up and continuing from later and later previous spots until the song ends.
If you're out of ideas, I guess I'll try to see if I can find the video somewhere else and download it again (I got this video free from a website). It's super cool.. An F-18 pilot video tapes himself performing aerial maneuvers to the song "magic carpet ride". Darn, I REALLY want that on my ipod!!

  • Voice recorded on Gb and video on DSLR out of sync.

I recorded a cooking demo on video and captured the voice on GB and the image on a Nikon HD Dslr 300s at 25 fps. ( video setting to PAL ) When I brought them into FCPX to edit the audio and visual are out of sync ie. after about 30 sec the audio is about a sec later than the image.

This happen sometimes because either the camera and mac are running at different clock cycles or problem when importing or exporting of the media . The only thing you can do about it now is adjust the speed of the audio or video. You can do a bunch of math to figure it out of trial and error with speed adjustment. Also short clips will be less of a problem so you may want to split clips up some.

  • Audio and Video Slowly Drift out of Sync

Ok so I'm hoping someone can help us out here.
So we have a video that was recorded 20 years ago on VHS tape. We captured that footage using a converter into FCP 7 using the DV-NTSC Capture preset with 48khz for audio.
The sound on that tape is awful and thankfully, we had a cassette tape that recorded all the audio. We used another converter to record that into pro-tools and bounced it out of pro tools using 48khz preset. Its currently a AIFF file.
Once we brought the two together in FInal Cut Pro, it starts off in sync but slowly drifts out about half way though. Any idea?

Find two sync points - one near the beginning and one near the end - maybe a syllable of speech, where you can see the mouth movements?
Put separate markers on your video and audio at all four points. Adjust the speed of the audio until the markers align.

  • How do I use 2 Core Audio devices at the same time in Logic w/out switching

Hello, I use the Aardvark Direct Mix usb3 as my audio interface for mic and guitar. I just upgraded to Logic Pro 7 today and was hoping someone could tell me how I could use the Built-in Audio Core Audio driver along with the Direct Mix USB Core Audio Driver at the same time without having to switch Core Audio Driver's and than rebooting Logic. It is very frustrating doing that as well as not being able to hear my Logic audio during playback/record mode when I am trying to record via the USB3. WHat can I do? Thanks! If ther are both core audio, why can I not just use both of them at the same time? Why must a switch back and forth? Thanks!
    [email protected]

THanks everyone! awsome article! Thanks for posting it, nh!
The weird thing is, once I go up to the Menu and select Open Aggregate Device Editor in the AUDIO/MIDI setup utility and try to add a new Aggregate Device setup (step # 6 from the link), the only audio device available is the "Built-in Audio". What's weird is when I have the main Audio MIDI Setup utility open, every single drop-down menu/tab has the "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1" device right beneath the "Built-in Audio" option. To me that says that the core audio device is indeed recognized by my computer (obviously since I can record with it using Logic). Can anyone help me with this one? Any suggestions?
Not that it should matter but, the hardware audio interface that I am using is made by the no-longer-existant company once known as Aardvark. I actually had to purchase a third party Core Audio driver just to have it recognized by OS X.
This is the website where I purchased my audio driver :
    http://www.usb-audio.com/
A little more on how this device and it's core audio driver function within Logic . . . (Hopefully this might clarify something I may be screwing up) . . .
I launch Logic with its default Built-in Audio which allows playback of audio from the app. I than go up to Audio Hardware and Drivers and than drop the flip down Driver menu down to the second option, "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1." Logic than prompts me that I should try to (re)launch Logic Pro to load the appropriate CoreAudio.. I do that. Now I am ready to record guitar through the Direct Mix USB3, I just can't hear anything (unless I use head phones as an output from the Direct Mix).
Anyway, you all probably already knew what I meant so explaining that was pointless. But my question is, if the Driver is obviously recognized by my comp in both the Audio MIDI Setup and in Logic, than why won't the Direct Mix device show up as a possibility for setting up an aggregate device? Any suggestions? Thanks!
