How do I sync my i phone contacts and calendar on to my new lap top?

I want to replicate my phone calendar and contacts on my lap top.
Also, emails that I send from my phone show on my lap top, but not vice versa.
Can I sync all of this through i Tunes somehow?

You sync contacts & calendars through iTunes to supported applications on your computer. You select such on the "Info" pane, in iTunes, while your phone is connected. Before doing so, make sure the supported applications on your computer are not empty...make sure there is at least one unique entry in each. This will generate a merge or replace prompt when you do sync, select merge. Never sync to an empty application on your computer, doing so will erase the data on your phone.
Regarding your mail account, actual emails are not synced through iTunes. Whether your emails are kept in sync or not is determined by the type of mail account you have. Only an IMAP or Exchange account can be kept in sync, not possible with a POP account.

How do I setup to sync outlook 2007 subfolders, contacts, and calendar to iphone 6?
Inbox messages will sync but not the sent box from either outlook or iphone.  Also, outlook subfolders are showing up on iphone.

    Hi,
you don't need MobileMe or anything fancy. I personally sync my Outlook calendar and my Outlook address book with three computers (two at the office and one at home)and besides I run Office 2003 on one, Office 2007 on the other and Office 2010 on the third, so it can't get more complicated than that, but it works 100%.
First sync Outlook with iTunes on one computer, having done that when you try to sync it to another machine, iTunes will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to merge the data, say yes, That's all there is to it.
It does not work for music as you rightly say but as far as Calendars and Contacts are concerned it's flawless and transparent.
If you hit a snag talk back to me.
    Cheers.

  • How to sync bb/outlook/gmail contacts and calendar

i have a bb 9530 and outlook 2007 running on a 64-bit windows 7 pc.  i use outlook to view my gmail.  i also have the bb gmail app on my phone and that keeps email in sync between gmail servers and the phone as well as outlook since it is setup for an imap account.  so that's all good.
the problem is that i need to know the best way to keep my contacts and calendar in sync as well.  since i can't "imap" my gmail contacts and calendar, there are 3 different locations to sync for those.
also, the gmail sync app for outlook has alot of problems on windows 7 and 64-bit vista or 7 so that didn't work either.
    any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks...  dave

I have the same problem.  Did you learn how to solve this?

  • Syncing I-pad and I-Phone contacts and calendar

I have my iPad and iPhone synced but it didn't sync my contacts and calendar. Anyone know how to change the settings so will do this?
    Thanks. Melly

I'm having the exact same problem. I hadn't really noticed as at some time in the past, everything has sync'd and I just had not noticed that new modifications were not sync'ing to the iPad. This is what occurs:-
I make a change in either Address Book or iCal on my Mac and within seconds, the update appears on the iPhone (via MobileMe), but hours later the iPad has not updated. I did turn OFF Push, then on again and it did then update, but I then made another change on the Mac and again, it fails to reach the iPad.
AFAICT this problem is limited to Address Book and Contacts and the iPad and obviously I am not the only one experiencing it:-

Maybe the problem was introduced in a recent update. Anyone got a cure?

  • Any ideas for how to sync to Exchange 2003 - contacts and calendar

    Hi
I am still searching for a mechanism to give me the sync solution I want, which is as follows:
At work I have a PC running Outlook 2003 via an Exchange Server 2003 setup.
At home I have an iMac running Snow Leopard
In the middle I have an iPhone 3G
I want to sync Calendar and Contacts across all three machines.
I want to sync work email between the Exchange server and the iphone, but do NOT need this to sync on my iMac at home
    That's it.
At the moment I can sync email, calendars and contacts successfully between the Exchange server and iPhone, using the over-the-air Exchange Sync on the iPhone. But sadly my iMac will not sync contacts and calendars to the exchange server 2003 as Snow Leopard only supports exchange 2007.
Ironically (because I don't need this bit to work) I have managed to get my iMac to sync with my Exchange server EMAIL, by selecting the Exchange IMAP option when setting up the mail account on my iMac (as opposed to the Exchange 2007 option). However, I cannot get iCal or Address book to sync with Exchange 2003, regardless of the options I select when setting up the new accounts in Address book or iCal. I guess these just do not work with Exchange 2003
I know that I cannot use mobileme as a solution, as you cannot have two over-the-air syncs going on, and I need to maintain my iphone link to the exchange server via activesync
I also know that using itunes to sync via the cable will not work, as this creates separate contacts and calendar files on the iphone and so does not provide the syncing solution I seek.
I have tried using google to act as the middle man between my iMac and Exchange server data - getting the iMac to sync to Google Calandar and Google Address Book, and then using a third party piece of software called gsyncit to sync from google to the .ost outlook file on my PC workstation. This works some of the time, but keeps crashing and leaving me with multiple duplicates to have to sort out - much too much hard work on a regular basis.
So I still do not have a solution. Unfortunately upgrading to Exchange server 2007 is not a solution.....
    Any new ideas out there
    Thanks

I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

The sync with Outlook contacts abd Calendar was working well for 6 months. I have iphone4 and mini ipad connected to the iCloud.. My " bandaid "is to only use the iphone 4 for contacts and calendar events.
Is their another Cloud I can use?

I have found a solution to this problem.
FYI - Blackberry cannot sync to Outlook if Outlook is in "Click to Run" mode. Follow the link below for instructions on how to install a full version of Office 2010.

  • After updating to 5.0.1 and syncing my iPhone, my contacts and calendar were erased

After I upgraded to 5.0.1, and synced my 3G iPhone through iTunes on my computer, it erased all of my contacts's phone numbers and Outlook email addresses.  I did nothing different except upgraded to the latest software - 5.0.1.  Can anyone tell me how to get these back on my phone?  Ugh!

After 47 minutes onthe phone with Apple Technical Support, here's what we did to get my contacts back on my phone.  It would be a good idea to back up your Outlook before you start to be safe.
First you open Outlook, click on File, Export, click on the option "Contacts to a list (tab delimited text)" then save it on your Desktop.  Next open your Mac Address Book (may have to find it in Applications through Finder).  Click on File, Import, find your file you just created from Outlook on your Desktop and double click on it.  You should see an example of what your data will look like on the left of the box.  Then click "OK".  All of your contact information from Outlook should be imported to your Address Book.
Then open iTunes again with your phone connected to your computer and attempt to sync again. Hope this helps.  It was a pain to get to this point but at least I have my contacts backon my phone!

  • Syncing Blackberry with ACT contacts and Calendar and Email through BES

I have had the hardest time setting up a blackberry for a user. It is the storm or bold 9800
we purchased companionlink and I was able to get the BES configured so it doesn't sync the calendar or contacts just email. On the Companionlink I have had issues were it doesn't sync the calendar or duplicates in the blackberry.
I have talked with support at companionlink and they tell me to select wipe the data on the BB and resync, that process takes forever. So my only option is to wipe everything clean and get one good sync but I can keep doing this for the user everytime.
IS there any troubleshooting methods I can use right now to get rid of the duplicates in the phone?
Or another program worth trying out?

There are two options that I know of.
First, you can try bluetooth syncing so you don't have to plug the BB in http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
Second, and the one I use, is the Google Desktop sync. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955 This will only sync calendar; not contacts. I sync 1-way from my Outlook to Google Calendar then use the normal Google Sync to get it all on my Blackberry.

Thanks for your reply.  First, I am using BB Desktop Manager 5.0.   I set up the sync parameters and had problems.  I tried to sync only the calendar after consolidating several family calendars into one ICS file.  I selected this file but still had the problems noted in the log.  This is similar to the problems I had when I tried to import my contacts into my BB.  In order to avoid duplicates I had to sync one way to the device.  I would only get so far and it would kick out.
My email sever is from our company.  I am unsure how to find the answer to that question.

  • Why won't itunes sync with iphone the contacts and calendars?  Items entered on Outlook are copied to iPhone, but item entered on iPhone are lost in the next sync.  That is not a true sync.

I want items entered on my iPhone to sync with my Outlook.  This is currently not happening.  Items entered in Outlook get "copied" to the iphone, but items entered on my iphone while away from my PC do not get sync'd to my Outlook.  Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is?

I had the same issue until I updated my apps through iTunes. I had over 100 updates, but none of them showed on my iPod. After they updated everything started syncing like it is supposed. Go to the apps library and check for updates. After everything syncs leave your iPhone/ipod/ipad connected if the spinning arrows at the top is still spinning. It means that things are still being added. If you go to settings > general > about, you will see it loading songs, videos, photos, etc. If you back out of "about" and then go back to it you will see the numbers for each one change.

  • Contacts and Calendar suddenly vanished from my new I phone and Mobile Me

I set up my new iphone and mobile me account this morning with no problems. I used the phone, contacts, and calendar with no problem for about three hours and then all of my contacts and calendar entries vanished. I have backed both up from my PowerBook. Any thought on what happened and how to prevent?

I figured out my problem. When I set up my accounts on my phone I had a .mac and a .me account and made the mistake of having sync turned on with both. When I figured out that my PowerBook was syncing with the .mac account I turned off the .me sync on my phone and everything is restored!

  • IPhone 6, manual sync of contacts and calendar with Google?

I usually prefer a manual sync of things like contacts and calendar with Google, rather than an automatic periodic sync. I don't change my calendar or contact list very often, so manual sync works best for me. I could do this with Android, but with iOS if I sync contacts and calendar with Google, and then turn off that syncing, iOS wants to remove my Google contacts and Google calendar events from my phone. So I seem to have no choice, either auto-sync, or no Google contacts and calendar events at all.
Does anyone out there know of a way to manually sync my Google contacts and calendar events when I want to?
How often does the Google calendar and contacts sync get done? Maybe it isn't an issue, if it only does a sync when I change my Google contact list or Google calendar?
Anyways, I really don't like automatic, periodic syncing to a web site happening on my phone if I don't need them to happen.
    Thanks.

I can help you with your calendar problem.
You'll need to export your calendar from google into iCal, and then start making all your changes to your iCal calendar.
I wrote up the procedure with some screenshots here!
    http://take-a-tech-tip.blogspot.com/2011/10/icloud-moving-google-calendars-to.ht ml
    I hope it helps.
About your contacts, I'm not sure I'd be able to give you good instructions since I haven't done the whole procedure myself. I did however, have my Address Books contacts synced with Google.
This post might help you. It talks about moving Google Contacts to your Address Book.
    http://take-a-tech-tip.blogspot.com/2011/09/iphone-google-contacts-sync-and.html
That should get your contacts from Google to your address book. Then, you can set up iCloud to have your contacts synced, and that should put them to iCloud. You can check by going to icloud.com and seeing if it worked. Then, I imagine you would have to disable the Google syncing with your Address Book (if I remember correctly, your computer will tell you it has to do this once you enable iCloud syncing for contacts).

  • Sync contacts and calendar options keep getting unchecked

The options to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar keep getting unchecked each time I restart iTunes. When I recheck them and attempt to sync, I receive a message stating that
"The information on the iPhone is synced with another user account. Do you want to sync this iPhone with the information from this user account instead"
It then asks if I want to "Merge Info" or "Replace Info". I'm not sure how to proceed, since I don't want to lose any data or end up with a bunch of duplicates.
How can I stop this from happening? Any ideas?
I truly appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Sounds like you sync your phone between two different computers? If this is the case, the options unchecking themselves seems to be an intentional thing by Apple, I'm thinking to prevent an accidental "oops" overwrite of information if auto-sync is active.
You can choose the "merge" option and everything on your phone (contacts and calendars, but NOT music) will be merged with everything on your computer - this is, everything will end up in both places.
You can only sync music with one computer, however, so make sure you keep the music options unchecked on the computer you don't sync music with.
