How do I sync my mail accounts on multiple apple products?

My live.com account will not sync with my iphone and ipad. If I receive and delete emails on my phone, I have to do the whole process again with the same emails once I am on my ipad/laptop. I have 2 accounts and one of them is in sync with my other devices but my live.com account is not. Is there a way to sync my account on all my apple devices to where once I delete or look at an email, I don't have to do it again on all my other apple devices?

Hi
You will probably have to add the mail accounts yourself onto the iphone see here:

Addressbook synching would be through your iCloud account. It has nothing to do with Safari.

  • How do I sync my mail accounts from my macbook using the mavericks os to my new iphone 5

recently I had to get a new iphone 5, so I backed up the old one with my macbook pro that is using the mavericks os. After restoring the new phone from the back up I noticed that the mail accounts from my macbook had not synced as they used to automatically prior to installing mavericks that seems to force you to sync everything pretty much through icloud. Is there any simple way to do this clone my mail accounts to my new iphone 5 from my macbook.

  • Is there any news relative to the Michigan University students hacking Go-mail accounts relative to apple products?

    Folks,
Yesterday I heard on the news that a team at the University of Michigan had hacked G-mail accounts on Android divides at an approximately 92% success rate.
The commentator said that Apple products could also be hacked.  Earlier today I checked the internet and only found information related to Android phones relative to this study.  Has anyone heard any news concerning those of us who use G-mail on apple devices having anything to fear? They said that the researchers had used applications relative to tax preparation as well as two other types of apps in hacking the G-mail account.
    Thanks in advance.

Various security groups have been testing Android phones for security issues including buying used ones off e-bay and other internet sites and recovering e-mails and photos off supposedly reset devices.
In those cases the researches have said that there is a possibility that Apple could have these problems once one figures out how to do it.

  • How Do I Sync All Email Accounts and Mailboxes (including those I create)?

How do I Sync all email accounts in the OSX Mail Application and mailboxes(including those I have created), all using the .mac sync application . . . or is there a better way to sync information from my powerbook to my imac?
The problem: I am reading and sorting/organizing my emails on my powerbook when traveling, and then I come home to my imac and end up having to manually duplicate the work I just completed. Any easy way of truly syncing the information between computers? Pleae let me know. Thanks
What is meant by mailbox structures? For example: On my powerbook, I have 2 unread messages in one of my IMAP email accounts. I read both messages. I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes? I'm so confused.
Also, what "mailboxes behavior" & "advanced" preferences should be checked with IMAP email accounts. All sorts of misc. mailboxes keep being created in the OSX Mail APP. when choosing different preferences. When selecting store on server (mailboxes created indicate: stored locally on computer). Again very confused.

The benefit of using an IMAP is keeping server stored messages synchronized when accessing the account with an email client such as the Mail.app on different Macs.
Messages in the Inbox mailbox for an IMAP type account are stored on the server by default which cannot be turned off.
With an IMAP type account, you can also store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server which is available under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences.
If you want to keep Sent messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, you need to select "Store sent messages on the server" under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences in Mail on both Macs.
I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created
in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in
the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac
sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on
my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information
/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes?
    I'm so confused.
Was this client mailbox created as an "On My Mac" location mailbox? If so, an "On My Mac" location mailbox is stored locally on the hard drive, not on the server so messages moved to such a mailbox will not be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs. Transferring a message from the account's Inbox mailbox or from any server stored mailbox to an "On My Mac" location mailbox stores the transferred message locally on the hard drive and removes the message from the server at the same time.
When creating a mailbox, the default location is "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive. If you are accessing an IMAP type account, you can select the IMAP account via the location selection which will create the mailbox on the server and be available in Mail on the other Mac. Messages placed in a server stored mailbox will be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs.

    Hello sstan114,
Great question! What type of email account are you using? Most email providers these days offer IMAP accounts (as opposed to POP). With IMAP, your changes should reflect across your devices (for example: if you read an email on your iPhone, it should be marked as read on your iPad). For more information about IMAP, see this resource:
    iCloud: IMAP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2585
In some cases, you may need to contact your Email provider or check out their online resources for information on how to setup your account as IMAP. The following article outlines some important information you’ll want to gather:

I now have my daughters iPad can you please tell me why I can't set up iCloud.in settings the iCloud is greyed out also how do I change her mail account to mine?

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID.  If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account.  If not, choose Delete from My iPad.

  • How do i set the mail account to bring up my yahoo emailbox?

you know when you go to a website and there is an email address that you can click on and it brings up your mail account? well, i did have a .mac account for 60 days and i did not want to pay $99 to keep it. i use yahoo for email. how do i change the mail account so that yahoo is the name of the email account in mail?
i cannot figure out how to do it.
    thanks,
    sunny

I've discovered this thread and am considering using Free Pops to get my Yahoo Mail.
Can I just ask tele player and Mike N. as seasoned users of the app how complicated it is? I'm an intermediate sort of user; I've installed and used plenty of 3rd party apps before, I just don't like to go anywhere near code or the Terminal.
Does it sound like I'd manage with Free Pops? For now, I only want it to access my Yahoo e-mail in the Mail application on OS X.
    Thanks, Charity

  • Isync/.mac sync and mail accounts

Mail checks 3 email accounts for me. And .Mac is set to sync my mail accounts and settings across two computers.
The thing is, every time I open Mail (on either computer), .mac will eventually sync, and I get the "this is going to change >5% of your mail accounts" warning. It says it is going to delete two accounts, modify zero, and add two. I always just click ok.
But it's getting to the point it's annoying. So today I clicked the "details" section- and it shows the accounts that are supposed to be added/deleted- and they are identical.
Everything else syncs fine, without error.
is there something funny about mail account syncing? Why does it do this every single bloody time .mac runs a sync?!
    Thanks!

You should ask in the .Mac Sync forum. iSync doesn't do any kind of Mail syncing - it's for syncing to phones and PDAs.
