How do I sync my new macbook to Apple TV?
I have Apple Tv installed and have been using it for a few years. My old macbook died and I jusy bought a new one. When I open itunes and select Apple Tv, it does not show any of my music, movies, etc.. It just shows "Settings" and "photos". Under Settings, it doesn't give me any options. How do I sync my new macbook or do a restart?

My Macbook pro is brand spanking new. I've had an itouch for a long time, and an ipad.
Today I figured out cloud, and can sign into icloud via the internet... created a wonderful calendar that I can sync on my itouch and my ipad. Howver ical is not set up as a device and I don't know how to do that. I tried via the settings on my macbook pro and it promps me to sign into mobile me... which closed down in June I believe... so of course it's giving me an error message. I do have the cloud app on my computer, but it seems like a drop box of sorts.
If I open ical and click on preferences, it promps me to sign into mobile me and again.. the vicious circle continues.
I have updated my macbook pro and I'm running the most recent version of Itunes...
can anyone help?

S.As your MacBook Pro is new I assume it has Lion on it? Make sure you have 10.7.2 and if not, use Software Update to bring your Mac up to date.
Then go to System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars, and enter your iCloud account details there. -

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: Be sure you have an active internet connection. -

I am trying to sync my new MacBook Air iCal with my iMac calendar. It will synce with MobileMe calendar on the iMac, but I can't get rid of iCal on the iMac and this one keeps coming up with an error message.
About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time. -

I synced my new macbook pro to my old iMac(which is old, and doesn't have a lot of memory left) and thus I keep getting the error message on my (new) macbook that the startup disk is almost full, even though I haven't anything on it. so should I restore it? there's nothing i need to save anyway. the macbook is OSX 10.8.

Does it mean you copied the contents of the iMac hard drive to the Macbook Pro? You then say you have nothing on your hard drive yet you are getting messages that the startup disk is full. Something is not making sense here.

Unfortunately, the AirPort Utility application in the Lion and Mountain Lion operating systems, which is used to configure the new Time Capsule does not support the older versions of the products that you have.
Even if it did, there are no settings on the older AirPorts to "Extend a wireless network", so they are not compatible with the new Time Capsule if you intend to extend the network only using wireless connections.
If you have the ability to connect each AirPort to the Time Capsule using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection, it might be possible to use a complicated workaround to install an older version of AirPort Utility to configure the older AirPorts to work with the new Time Capsule.
If you have another Mac there that is using the Leopard or Snow Leoapard operating system, things would likely be simpler. I have not done this type of procedure to mix a new Time Capsule with older AirPorts, so I would not be able to say whether this would work or not.
