How do I sync "On My iPod touch" notes with and IMAP account?

I wrote a number of notes in the Notes app before I configured it to sync with an IMAP account. I have added an IMAP acct. to the device and configured that acct. to sync notes. Notes now has an accounts section, and that section lists "On My iPod touch" and the IMAP acct. How do I get the "On My iPod touch" notes sync'd with my IMAP?

Have you tried restoring the ipod?

Do you have duplicates in one album? If so how did that album get on the iPod?

Your email address (used as your Apple ID) does not matter, because iPods are not directly linked to a particular Apple ID.
NOTE: You can still use your old Apple ID, even if your that email address is no longer valid. As long as you remember your Apple ID password. Go here and click on Manage your Apple ID.

You can change the primary email address used by Apple, although the Apple ID remains the same.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I have a second generation iPod touch OS 4.2.1.
My iMac runs OS X 10.7.3 and I have an iPad 3rd generation.
My Address Book Contacts and iCal Calendars are in iCloud. I have no On My Mac contacts or calendars.
I can sync my iCloud calendars with the iPod touch by choosing the iCloud calendars identified with my Apple ID in the iTunes calendar sync dialog.
The iTunes sync dialog for the Address Book, however, does not show my iCloud Contacts and only has a choice for syncing all contacts, which I have chosen.
My calendars sync to my iPod touch, but my Address Book does not.

This says that it can't be done.
But I am able to do it for my calendars in iCloud, just not for my contacts in iCloud.
What is the reason for the difference.

You can get it on eBay, maybe Craig's list and from the Apple store. However, it is not offered in the on-line Apple store so you will have to call. The price is $129.

If you use automatic syncing (not the manual method), you need to set up the Music tab. The Music tab appears on the "row of tabs" that starts with Summary, when you select the iPod touch in iTunes. If your music library is smaller than the capacity of the iPod, you can select to sync Entire music library. Then, everything in your music library should sync to the iPod. In that case, you need to choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, or genres. Then, down below, select the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres to sync. Going forward, any changes you make to your iTunes Music library that are related to the settings on the Music tab, for your iPod touch, will be synced. One simple way to set it up is to create a new playlist in iTunes (call it something like "iPod touch music"). Put only the songs you want on the iPod touch on that playlist. I have 5.5GB of music on my ipod touch that I copied from my own cd's to an old computer that are now on my ipod touch. I want to sync the music from my ipod touch to my computer. itunes lists all the music but a message comes up when I try to listen to it on my computer saying "this song cannot be used because the original file cannot be found.

to prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod - hold down the option and the command (on a PC that would be the shift and ctrl ) keys when plugging in the iPod - keep pressing the keys until the iPod is listed under the devices list in iTunes.

You can sync to any computer you like. You can sycn to your new computer. You have simply failed to keep your content safe.
Apple assumes that you will do the very basics of owning a computer and maintain a backup copy of your computer.
The only issue here is that you failed to do the basics.
