How do I system restore osx 10.9.3 to a week ago

Hi Everybody. I'm new to all this and not very computer literate but am very good at the musical side of things being a pro guitar player for 30 years. My problem is that after installing Maverick 10.9.3 there are issues with 3rd party  musical applications ( Protools ) that I am using and have tried installing and uninstalling since the upgrade from Lion to Maverick.Have tried installing and uninstalling both Protools LE 7.1.1 and Protools SE 8.03 and Maverick does not seem to want to install or uninstall properly  that which is not Apple or Apple approved even after changing  the security settings in System Preferences. Protools is an industry standard which is found in any recording studio in the world. Everything was working fine before the upgrade and just after it which was the 30/05/2014.I would like to take the system back to that point as at present I cannot uninstall anything that has happened since then and the programs just are not working right. Is there a way of being able to do this without having to use Time Machine and having to buy an extra hard drive to back up. I can see on many forums that many people are having similar type issues with all sorts of third party apps.Thank you for any help.

You must backup, not to do so is very foolish whether or not you upgrade or downgrade. Had you done so this would be simple but.
You will have to backup, erase your hard drive and then restore your data files, applications should be reinstalled.

  • Exploring Windows Server 2012 R2. I need to know how to enable system restore, though.

I've gone about exploring the Datacenter edition to determine if it's right for what I need it for as a home server. However, I want to have a plan for when something goes wrong that might require a system restore, but that refreshing or resetting Windows
Server entirely would be overdoing it. I discovered two Group Policy settings pertaining to SR and properly configured them to attempt to get System Restore up and running, but unfortunately to no avail. What can I do?

System restore is not available in server builds. You are supposed to install and use windows server backup feature instead.

please help. Also I have Toshiba Laptop L875-12V short model no pskfne

    1. You have given too few information on errors.
    2. Before you do anything, backup you personal data.
    3. First attempt to return previous status is via Safe mode and restore points
    4. There are two procedures that return computer to clean status - restore and refresh. Following procedure is for tablet, but you can use it

    5. Some vendors are providing restore DVD (either attached to computer when you buy it of via support channel). This restores computer content to factory settings including various programs that comes for free.
    6. Some computer vendors provide restore partition on HDD. You can restore factory installation by pressing functional key when computer starts. Consult user guide, support forum or vendor support.

  • How to get system restored after replacing hard drive.

Bought a MacBook Pro about two years ago, hard drive failed and was replaced. Any way to get my iphoto, imovie, etc back on computer without having to pay for it since it originally came with the computer when I bought it?

If you did not buy the computer with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed, then you can reinstall these applications from the original installer discs that came with your computer.
If Lion or Mountain Lion was pre-installed, then re-download the applications from the App Store.

  • How can I get a phone number that I dialed a week ago?

I dialed a number last week and I need to get it back.   How do I do that?

If the number is no longer in the recents list in the phone app, I would suggest checking with your carrier to see if they provide this information.  I have an online account with my carrier and it lists all the calls called and received during the current billing period.

  • My imac will not let me access my bank web page.  How can I fix this?  It did until about a week ago.

I cannot open the web page for my bank using Safari, Firefox, Googl, or Yahoo.  I can see others have had this problem, what is the fix?  I have reset Safari and made sure cookies are accepted and that did not fix the problem.  The bank assures me its the computer.  Problem with that is that other banks open fine, just not the one I'm trying to open.

I would update. You need the update for apps.

  • How can I do system restore on my mac

Hi, can you tell me how to do system restore on mac, thanks

With Snow Leopard you will need the install DVD.  Load it and reboot while holding down the Option Key OR select it as the Startup Disk in System Preferences -> Startup Disk and reboot.
    From there install the system.
    OR
If you have Time Machine, select it as the source when asked how to install.

  • Lost all my APPS following a "System Restore" on my Windows 8.1 machine

A couple of days ago I was experiencing problems logging on to ANY / ALL Wi-Fi networks so elected to do a "System Restore" for about 10 days ago. That worked fine and I got my Wi-Fi networks sorted but I lost ALL MY APPS and cannot find a way
to re-install. Tried contacting Microsoft and what a waste of time that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone any idea as to how to retrieve the situation WITHOUT getting too complex or do I need to buy an Apple Computer? With the Old XP system a "System Restore"
NEVER created these sort of problems! PLEASE SOMEONE TRY TO ADVISE. Thanks Andrew

Sorry to ask, may I know how you perform system restore?
as far I know, system restore will restore condition included software or application installation
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
If you think an app or driver that you recently installed caused problems with your PC, you can restore Windows back to an earlier point in time, called a restore point. System Restore doesn’t change your personal files, but it might remove recently
    installed apps and drivers.
To restore your PC to an earlier point in time
    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
2.Enter Control Panel in the search box, and tap or click Control Panel.
3.Enter Recovery in the Control Panel search box, and then tap or click Recovery.
4.Tap or click Open System Restore, and then follow the instructions
So, you need to reinstall your application if 10 days ago you haven't installed it
I don't know your expectation about this

  • Running Creative Cloud apps after System Restore

I got Creative Cloud yesterday and I'm totally psyched.  I downloaded several of the apps in the Application Manager.  Once they were done, I hit the "run app" button next to Photoshop to make sure it was working.  It worked perfectly, so I went to bed.
This morning I turned on my computer and it didn't start because a Windows update that I installed while shutting down last night was apparently poison for my computer.  I had to recover from a system restore point that had been created several weeks before Creative Cloud was installed.
Now I'm not sure how to start or install any of the Creative Cloud programs.  In the Application Manager, it says all the programs I'm interested in are installed, so I can't re-download them, and there's no "run app" button there any longer.  And in the Program Files on my computer, even though there are now several CS6 files, for the life of me I can't find any of the .exe files that will actually run the programs.
How do I open these programs?

I fixed it, but it involved three calls with Adobe support that added up to around 6 hours... in the end, we had to use a special Adobe Suite remover program to totally scrub my system of anything Adobe.  When that was done, we were able to install most of the programs, but not Muse or Acrobat.  To get Acrobat to work, we had to use another special Acrobat remover tool, then we had to create another administrator on my computer and use the new account to install Acrobat from there using a direct download of the program, instead of the Application Manager.  To install Muse, we figured out that we could just download the trial from the Adobe site and just install it that way - again, as opposed to installing it from the Application Manager.  So now everything works, but the Application Manager still doesn't recognize that Acrobat or Muse are installed - it still has the "install" button next to their names.  The support guy said I should still be getting updates, but that he'll check up with me in another week or so to see if that is indeed the case.
    Good luck Gravity6.

  • HT4528 My iPhone 4s would not sync - it kept canceling.  I backed it up and did a full system restore.  Now it won't restore my apps.  It starts on 1 of 51 and then tells me it's canceling sync and it stops.  My apps are all black. How do I fix this?

My iPhone 4S kept canceling while syncing.  In the Apple support communities, it was recommended that I do a full system restore. I backed the phone up and did the restore.  Now it won't finish the restore process.  It gets to where it will restore the apps and it says "copying 1 of 51", and then it cancels the sync.  I have no apps on the phone - they are all black and they say "waiting". How do I get the apps reloaded on the phone?  Do I have to delete them all and redownload them? I'm not even sure that will work.  Do I go to Verizon and ask if they can fix it?  Any suggestions?

I would like to know which app/software in MAC gives us the same feature that is provided by System Restore in Windows, and how does that work.

Time Machine is one such program, although it is a recursive backup program which offers limited archive capability, based on the capacity of the backup destination, and it requires you set it up before you start editing your files.   Some programs are also Versions aware, which offers a kind of restore capability by file.  Again needs to be setup before you start editing.
