How do I take a screenshot of a block diagram to be used in a MS Word document?

I am using labview 5.0 and I am working up a user manual on the VI I have created. I would like to include screenshots of the block diagram and explain what I have done for future revisions of the VI by other programmers.

You can "print" your vi. When you do that, you have the option to save it instead as an html or rtf file. LabVIEW will create images of your diagram that you can use for your user manual.
Also, you can simply select your diagram or part of the diagram using the "Position/Size/Select" tool, copy it and then paste it on your word document, like any regular cut and paste. It will paste as an image. If you want, you can paste the image in another application directly like Paint or Microsoft Photo Editor, so you can modify it accordingly to your needs.

To take a screenshot using a PC follow these steps:
The three keys are 'PrntScn/SysRq', 'Scroll Lock', and 'Pause/Break'. The key 'PrtScn/SysRq' is the screenshot key (PrtScn=print screen)
You should pull up the page you wish to take a picture of then tap 'PrtSc/SysRq'. When you tap the key, it appears as if nothing has happened but when you tap that key it actually takes a picture of your screen and 'copies' it.
After tapping 'PrtScn/SysRq', you should open the program called 'Paint'. 'Paint' is automatically installed on all PCs, so if you do not know it then you can find it easily by searching your computer for 'Paint' (you can search for a program on your computer by clicking 'Start' then typing the name into the search box).
So now that you have Paint open and you have already tapped 'PrtSc/SysRq', simply push and hold 'Ctrl' then 'V'.
This will paste the image into Paint. From here you can label the screenshot (or do nothing). To send us your screenshot, save the image and then attach it to the email or Contact Us form as you would any normal photo.

If your iPod has iOS 4.2.1 then it is a 2G.

Then do as macbig explained double click on the file,
After you open and install the .dmg reboot your computer to complete the installation

I have to take a screen shot for a course I am doing. The instructions I received were: Alt + print screen command. This does not work. Keeps reloading the home page. You usually copy the screenshot to the clipboard and paste that image in an image editor program like Paint. Then you can save the image as a .jpg or .png file.

Basically you have two options.
- You can use gdmthemetester to create a Xnest for you
gdmthemetester <environment> <themename>
gdmthemetester console Circles
You can find themes in /usr/share/gdm/themes
- You can launch GDM, wait for it to load, switch to another VT (not 7), and then run this:
chvt 7 ; sleep 5 ; XAUTHORITY=/var/gdm/:0.Xauth DISPLAY=:0.0 import -window
root /tmp/gdm-shot.png
This will switch to VT 7, wait 5 seconds, establish the environmental variables and take a screenshot using imagemagick.

Thanks, and I did search on Google and Ubunut Forums as well as here... I saw both ways you described, but wasn't sure about either of them because nobody really "explained" it, so I wasn't really sure of what it did.

I know, normaly your VI should not be bigger as the window screnn.
Anyway, you can use the "Print VI documentation" as explain in the following link and and choose the option "Scale block diagram to fit"

How to point at a word table using forms Ole and Word Document

Hello.
I like to know how to position at a word table and send data from a forms module using ole. I have done something similar before using bookmarks.It's easy and it works. My requirement now is to send data from a forms module to a word document, but this time, the word document will have bookmarks and a word table needs to be filled from data from the database. Just don't know how to get , access, reference the word table from forms.
I'm still using forms6i in C/S mode.
Help will be greatly appreciated ...!.

i have used lap view version 8.6 to design pid system. i have the pid block diagram with daq on simulation loop. now my supervisor want me to remove the simulation loop. anyone know how to remove the simulation loop without deleting the pid block diagram. i have attached my pid program.

You cannot remove the simulation loop alone because all the functions kept inside that loop will work inside that loop only. If you have to remove means then you have to find another way to inplement the PID control.
The best solution is the one you find it by yourself

I know about standard tools for capturing screenshots of:
     • whole screen
     • a given window
     • a given selected area drawn with the mouse
But oftentimes I have a window that has content outside the visible area - where I'd have to scroll up or down to see it all, and cannot see it all at one time. I usually try to shrink the magnification to get it all in my visible area, but this often doesn't work, and degrades resolution.
I'd really like a tool that captures the whole contents of a long window. There's got to be a way. How?

I have a Toster 7, copy all DVD VOB [generate on a Sony 305 DVD] files to my Hard Disc and place them on the Toster browser... when I click to export them it just export part of my VOBs... just the first record video from the VOBs... how can I export all videos?

ahh, you try one of the "dirty tricks"..
a) you have to select a .vob before hitting Apple-K
b) your disk has to be "finalized" in yuur camera... read its manual how to accomplish that....

How can I prevent this formating problem (changing fonts, lines etc) when converting PDF to a word document.

I have a big problem when I convert my PDF to a word document, it is a mess. Is there a way to prevent this from happening. Font changes, table and lines formatting of lots of things. I am having to spend time editing and finding all the mistake, deleted the purpose of converting if I have to retype everything.
