How do I take credit card information off my iTunes account?

I just bought a new iPhone and had to update all my Apple ID information. It did not give me the option to opt out of including my credit card info. so I put it in. I bought $25 iTunes card and thought that if I booth the app it would automatically ask for the iTunes code. It didn't so I got charged on my credit card witch it now negative. After I figured that out I put the $25 on my iTunes the right way with no issues. Today I the app I purchased said I need to update it but as I to update is instantly brings up my credit card info. and says there is a precious purchase issue that needs to be resolved. How do I take the credit card off? Do I need to put money on my card in order to clear things up? And would erasing my card also erase the app I bought?

First you will have to take care of the outstanding balance. Then you can only adjust the payment method in iTunes on the comptuer, not on the phone.
To take care of the balance, you will have to contact iTunes support. http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html No one here can help you with this.

    Please select a payment method.

how do i take the credit card informtion off? there is no button please help

Sometimes if you do not see the "none" option, you may have a balance, and you will have to pay your balance before the "none" option will appear.  If that is not the case, try contacting iTunes Store support: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

    Hi Jessicalovesjosh,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you want to remove your credit card from iTunes. You can either do this on your iPhone itself or from the iTunes application on your computer. The attached article has the steps to do both.

  • How can I remove my credit card information from my iTunes account?

I've never used a credit card in my account before, I decided to to use a Visa gift card that was given to me this past Christmas, but once I used up all the funds I can't remove it from my account. What can I do? Feel free to email me about this issue. THANKS!

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit the payment info on that account by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into the account, and on the account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and select 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on the account's page.

  • HT1918 I am unable to change the credit card information on my iTunes account

My old credit expired so I need to edit the credit card info...after trying with various different (and active) cards the iTunes window still tells me "Temporarily unable to process this request...please try again later"...I have done this for 2 days...The iTunes Help topics have no answers for this problem....it's been over 48 hrs since submitting my "help" request to Apple but still no follow-up. Perhaps the Apple support community has somene who knows what the problem (and fix) is? BTW, I'm really dissapointed at Apple lately: never-ending version control, redundant (annoying) security requests for login and really poor help menus. How about a FAQ for troubleshooting? Non-existent...I guess that's why people like us end up fending for ourselves in the "Community" help sewer, spending the night on Google looking for a real solution. Thanks Apple. You suck!

Spooky6243 has the solution for CC updates (it worked for me, anyway!): log in to the Apple Store on your web browser (http://http://store.apple.com/us) and then update your account inof there...credit card updates will appear on the iTunes application after making changes thru the website...I wonder why Apple never tells us this in the first place? Probably because it should work thru either application...good luck everyone!
P.S. - And make sure your iTunes app is closed before you make changes on the website (this may help you Geordon).
