If the iPod has iOS 5 or later just swipe the some left or right and tap the Delete button that comes up.
If not then connect the iPod to yur computer and unsync the songs
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod... and follow the appropriate instructions.

For iTunes purchases, you can transfer them back to iTunes by plugging  your iPod into her iTunes library and choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying non=iTunes purchased content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

how do i take music off my ipod nano

How you delete depends how you have your iPod set to update. If you are updating automatically then delete the files from the iTunes library and next time you connect they will automatically be deleted from your iPod. if you are updating manually, connect your iPod and click on the icon when it shows in the iTunes source list. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly. To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod then press the delete key on your keyboard.

    Eric,
b To Clear Songs from Your iPod Under " Automatic Sync".
You will need to uncheck the songs in iTunes that you don't want to Have On Your iPod.
b To Clear Songs From iPod under " Manual Manage ".
You Simply click on a song on your iPod to Select Clear.

  • Please help me.. How do i take songs off my ipod??

ok so i deleted the songs off of my itunes library but theyre still on my ipod. how do i get them off?

Your iPod and iTunes library is two different things. Doing something to your iTunes library wont affect your iPod.
To remove the songs from your iPod, do the following:
    1. Open your iTunes and connect your iPod.
    2. After your iPod shows up on the pane ( left side ), click on Songs.
    3. All of the songs currently on your iPod should be listed there. ( Including Videos, Etc if applicable )
    4. Click on ONE song, then do CTRL + A ( Windows ) or Apple + A ( Apple ).
    5. Press Delete.
    6. A prompt window should show up asking you if you want to remove these songs from your iPod. Click Yes.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions/comments please post them.

  • How do you take songs off in disk mode?

How do I get songs off my iPod Mini with another program (I have iPod Access) when it is in disc mode?
My iPod has been acting up the last month or so and I want to get the songs safely on my computer before I have to restore.

Have you tried using the "Help" facility within iPod Access for instructions? Failing that you could try the Findley Designs Support page: Support - If experiencing problems with iPod Access:
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

  • How to export my library off my ipod nano to iphone

Hello - Please can someone tell my how to export my music library of nearly 500 songs off my Ipod Nano 2nd generation onto my Iphone 5 - only the purchased songs have been exported in Match.
    Thanks

Go to iTunes and Transfer all songs from iPod to Computer after that, you can sync those songs from itunes to your iphone. IF you have all the songs from iPod Nano to the computer, then just simply sync your iphone.
If you have 3rd party music, most likely, those won't transfer. You'll have to get a 3rd party app to get those music back. If you do, I strongly recommend getting MP3 Music Downloader Free (download unlimited music for free)

Do you mean just skip to the next track or are you talking about something else?  What generation is your Nano?  It wouldn't hurt to look for this information in your iPod's User Guide.

  • How do you transfer songs from an iPod Nano to library

How do I transfer songs from an iPod Nano to the iTunes Library or iMatch so I can access them on my iPad?

iTunes Match requires a connection to the Internet; an iPod nano has no networking capability.  Everything for the nano goes through your computer.
If you want the songs on the nano on your iPad, they need to be transferred to your computer and then added to your iTunes library.  You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilties that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are in your iTunes library, the will be added to your iTunes Match library in iCloud.  You can then add the songs to your iPad from your computer or from iCloud.
NOTE:  Songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store can also be re-downloaded at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.

How does one copy songs from an iPod nano to a new computer?

You can't add any iOS to a Nano since it doesn't run iOS.
For iTunes purchased music connect to your computer and in iTunes go to File > Transfer purchases.
For non-iTunes music you will need 3rd party software. Assuming you have a Windows computer try Yamipod.
