How do I teach Mavericks' Dictation new words? Is this even possible?

I've been fiddling with the dictation feature in Mavericks and am having a blast with it. I never felt that the cost of Dragon Naturally Speaking was worth it for me as I'm a fast typist. However, the fact that dictation is now available at no cost with Mavericks means that it's now worth it to me to use it.
Here's my problem, which by no means is unique to me, and it may well be just a limitation of what the built-in dictation can do.
I'm a roleplayer in World of Warcraft, and one of the things I do is come up with character history and culture, which is very common among the community, especially for the race I play in the game, which does not have very much pre-written (by the publisher's writers) lore. So the community comes together to create its own.
Like many other niche areas of study, there's specialised vocabulary and lexicon that comes into play here that doesn't exist in standard English. The name of my character's race ("draenei") is one of these, and because the word doesn't appear in standard dictionaries, Mavericks' Dictation doesn't recognise it.
I would like to be able to teach this word (and others) to Mavericks so that I don't need to manually correct the output as I work. I am using the offline dictation option as I don't feel comfortable with using Apple's servers and I also like being able to work from anywhere and I love getting live preview of what I'm saying.
Is there a way to do this "inline" (a spoken command on-the-fly to add the word to the dictionary)?
I've tried spelling the word out, which then results in Mavericks attempting to interpret my speaking the letters as separate words, with mixed luck (I'm hoping it trains to my voice over time). I'm hoping that I just don't know the right command (like "new paragraph" or "comma" and so on).
If it turns out that this can't be done, I may try creating a keyboard shortcut in the System Preferences Keyboard pane so that I can have an abbreviation replaced by the word but I'd prefer to be able to speak naturally and to have Dictation properly understand the lexicon I'm using. It would be a huge hassle to add shortcuts for every single instance of special terminology for my application or for any other -- I imagine that any doctors out there would quite sympathise with my plight!

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder.  Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it.  Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. You may also want to check Restrictions to make sure it hasn't been disabled Seetings>General>Restrictions>Camera>ON.
