I wish there was some sort of software on the PC that you can use to tell you how many more minutes until its charged, or somthing, HELP!

A 2009 MacBook pro will not have Thunderbolt, this only came about in 2011.

Planb's info prob' answered your question but I understand your question because I intitially didnt know either how I knew.
If its plugged into itunes and is sync'd you wont see anything it will be in upper corner of ipod a batt symbol if you disconnect it synch and press the play button down to force it to sleep it will animate that it is charging.
Even easier...a a/c adapter from apple to charge it in electric socket, I love mine. Again if you press play to turn in off/ sleep youll see animation if you brush your hand over wheel.

My friends iPod has died for the 9th time since purchase and this time it's outside of warranty. The HD makes a clicking noise and the folder with exclamation mark image appears.

I heard that it will cost around usd240. But I believe you should try the following before you send it for repair..
1. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) will conquer most iPod issues.

Several things could keep iPod from appearing in iTunes or in the Desktop/Finder when you connect it to your PC/Mac. The most likely causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one starting from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping iPod from appearing.
3. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
5. Try another known-good FireWire or USB port on your computer .
6. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
7. Try to connect on a different computer i.e. a PC formatted iPod connect with a Mac computer or Mac formatted iPod with a Window base PC.
8. Try to do a Erase (Disk Utility) on a Mac computer or a reformat with a PC (Disk Management tool) but ensure you choose the right Drive (your iPod not your Hard Disk of your computer).
9. Try to run the iPod in “Diagnostic mode” . which can be accessed by pushing the “hold” switch into the “on” position and then “off” (into the original position). Then press the following buttons in the following order: “menu” plus “select” (centre button) then press “reverse” plus “select”. This will take you to the hidden diagnostic mode screen menu. It may take a few trials and pressing the buttons in the right way for this to work, so be patient and keep trying if you have to. The diagnostic mode will give you 7 choices which are: Memory, IO, Power, Status, SysCfg, Diskmode, and Reset. Don’t bother trying “reset” because in my case it didn’t work it just took me back to the same problem. Instead, choose “diskmode”, after which you should get an odd looking “ok to disconnect” sign on the iPod screen.
I still believe that the iPods can be fixed by doing step 7 or 9, please try to do several attempts - go to an Apple Shop in case you cant find a Mac computer
If one of the above step helps to get your iPod to be recognized with your computer, do a Restore.
But, if none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service Website.

Water has been spilt on my 13 inch macbook air (which is only 27 days old!). What to do? How much will genius bar charge to repair it?

My Macbook air (13 inch) is less than a month old. Due to an accident where around 1/4 bottle water leaked into my bag on my way home and now my macbook air is now damaged. I immediatly tried swicthing it on (keyboard lights lit up but that was it) however realised after I should not have done that. It is currently at home, turned upside down on a towel. I know I will have to pay to repair it but realistically how much am I looking at (uk cost? the only info I can find through many searches relates to US costs. I am really not tech savvy at all so any home repairs are out of the question. My only option is to pay apple or buy new (whoch considering how much I spent a month ago I really cant justify. I am absolutly gutted as I saved for months for this and had to use birthday money too I cant even get a genius bat appointment to next week now so I am really stressing about this!
advice please? I am desperate and gutted!

They usually have a "flat rate" repair fee for portables. It is something like $350.00 when I had my Macbook Pro (2008) repaired. It could be more, or less for your device. They will send it out for repair, so be expecting to leave the device with them.

OK, serious answer: You've already answered that yourself.
You just need to do the formula:
(total annual take home pay you want or need + total annual
expenses) / #
billable hours you work a year = your hourly consultant rate
The two things to keep in mind:
1) List ALL expenses (tax liability, insurance, office, car,
software,
hardware, paperclips, etc, etc, etc)
2) don't think you'll be billable 40 hours a week as an
independent. You
have to account for marketing time, networking, office
management, vacation,
etc.

You only pay for an app once. You can download it again if you need to. You will not be charge again. With iCloud, you'll be able to download all your iOS apps to all your iOS devices at no extra charge.

My son accidentally dropped our ipad 4th gen retina display on the kitchen tiles and the screen glass has shattered in the top right corner and there are 2 large cracks across the screen which end at the home button. The ipad is still in full working order apart from the cracked screen (I am using it now) I have booked to take it into apple next week and it is still under warranty. Accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty. Here in the UK the cost for replacing the iPad 4 (it's not repaired) is £249 (from here, add £7.44 if shipping is required).
