how do i tell iphoto [in faces] that i dont know a person or it isn't a face at all?
I'm using iphoto 11. Identifying all the faces in my pics. It keeps suggesting the same pics for lots of people. I dont know the people in these faces but I cant find a 'i dont know who this face is option to clear them out of the list of waiting to be identified. Also some of these are people at all but odd bits of tree and such like [also faces from posters screens ...] but there seems to be no 'this is not a face option'. I havent yet looked on the actual photo but with a library of 10,000 ish photos i dont even know how to find the photos with these particular faces in them.

Hi,
For a cloud service, though it is possible to access instance VMs and do changes on their file system by RDP sessions, but it is not recommended, as you will end up loosing your changes if role instance VMs are restarted.
If you really want to keep certain settings configurable and which will be shared by all your role instances, best way to do is to utilise the cloud service configurations, typically you mention these settings in .cscfg file and you can also edit those using
azure management portal.
You can also access those from your code

I've bee using my MacBook Pro, iphoto and Nikon for many years. I travel alot and take many pictures, and like to keep them on the memory cards as an extra backup. All was going great on a recent trip, until one day, suddenly, when I plug camera into computer, iphoto opens (as usual) but it starts downloading ALL of the old images on the memory card instead of just the ones that have not already been imported! It takes forever when you are using a 16GB card!! Is this due to some update I installed? How do I tell iphoto not to do this?! I only want to see images not yet imported, as it used to be. iPhoto does read all images (how else can it know if it has already imported them or not) and then gives your oppertunity to import new, all or selected
Yes it does take a bit to get all images and see what needs to be imported - I use 32 GB cards - and the other issue is that if you delete impoprted photos next time you use the card the deleted ones will be in the new list so you have to select the rest and import selected - I've found no solution to this

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning? Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. It the problem persists make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If the new library does'nt have that problem then your original library is damaged. Post back if that's the case and we'll go from there.

You cannot lock it by the serial number. Report it to your carrier and the police. You said that the thief knows your pass code. Does that mean that the thief was a personal friend who would be close enough to you to know what your code was? If that is the case, ask your friend to return your phone.

No. Contact the previous owner, return it for a refund if you just bought it, or turn it over to the police.

Moving pics to a firewire drive - how do I tell iphoto where they are

I moved my photo library - like 2500 images - to a firewire drive to preserve space on the system drive. Now when I boot iphoto it shows only an outline of each photo. I want to know how I tell iphoto where my pictures are located, without having to do that every time I boot the app. or without importing them again, which would make a copy in the system folder again. First of all, it appears that you did not move the library correctly. It MUST be moved as an ENTITY. Don't even think about opening up the library and moving parts of it. If you made a mistake here, you need to undo that mistake before you proceed.
Be reminded that a drag to a different disk is always a copy so initially iPhoto will still access the library in the ORIGINAL location. Eventually, you want to trash that library but, before you do, you should check out the one in the new location. You need to tell iPhoto where to look only once. Hold down the Option key while starting iPhoto and, when you see the menu, direct it to the new location. Check everything out and, when you're satisfied, trash the library that still exists in the old location.
By the way, once iPhoto "knows" the location of the library, ALL imports will go there. Period.

I imported from an external hard drive and I just dragged the top level folder into iPhoto to begin the import. I was never asked if I wanted to import the dupes or not....

The photos do not have to be on the same drive as the library. I import from an external HD frequently and always get the duplicate warning if there are duplicates in the batch.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. iPhoto doesn't not have to be closed to run it, just idle.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. hello WallyWalsh, if this warning is showing up you might have to reset the homepage to the version that is used in firefox 4 & above (the old homepage will show the warning you have referenced). to change it go to firefox > tools > options > general & reset the homepage to the default (that's '''about:home''').
