How do i tranfer a dvd video to my ipad

i have a dvd that i use for business presenations on my laptop that i want to be able to show using my ipad so i dont have have bring my laptop with me.

computer based applications like Handbrake, Mpegstreamclip or format factory (the latter is pc only) allow you to change teh format of the DVD to m4v or mp4, which you can then sync to the ipad and play from it.

How do I copy my DVD movies to my iPad?

Sorry, but if you're referring to copy-protected video DVDs, which most commercial disks are, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.   Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature.
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad.
    Regards.

  • How can I get an mp4 video running on iPad Mini?

How can I get an mp4 video running on iPad Mini, which is already in the iTunes File?

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do I send a large video off my ipad to an email account?

How do I send a large video from my ipad to an email account?

    You don't
most e-mail accounts have a limit. Of course this also depends on what you mean by 'large'. My yahoo caps out at 25 megs per mail.
Your best bet would be to look into a service like dropbox. upload it there then e-mail the access codes to those you want to share it with and they can download and view it

  • How can I upload my dvd movies to my ipad for an upcoming vacation

How do I upload my dvd movies to my IPad 2?

This would have to be one of the bug bears of iTunes: you can put a music CD in your Mac's optical drive and iTunes asks if you want to import it, but will not do the same for a movie you already own and want to watch on your Mac using iTunes!
I haven't bought a DVD for years, and happily buy movies, or rather, when at home rent them from the iTunes Store.
The only way to get movies onto your iPad is to buy movies from iTunes and sync the iPad (make sure you have ticked the sync movies option in the iTunes device settings AND tick only the movies you want in the movies list) or buy movies via the iTunes app on your iPad, or do stuff that is illegal.

  • How to Optimize Quality of DVD Video using Premier 6.5

I am looking for some advice how to get the best video quality on the MPEG-2 DVDs I create. I capture my MiniDV video into Adobe Premiere 6.5 in AVI format using a D-Link (at least 2 years old) 1394 fireware card. I set my default projects settings to Microsoft DV Compressor, Frame Size 720 x 480, 16x9 aspect, 29.97 fps, depth millions, quality 100%. Once my editing is done, I export using Adobe Premier 6.5 MPEG encoding (I have the latest 1.3 update). I typically pick the DVD 16x9 High Bit Rate setting. My DVDs look OK. The Canon ZR30 MC MiniDV Camcorder I have been using recently died; it was about 5 years old. I just replaced it with a 3CCD MiniDV camcorder from Panasonic (PV-GS320) that should help in terms of the source video quality. I am not ready for HD. Too expensive to upgrade my PC and disk subsystem in particular and my preference will be an HD camcorder with no spinning hard drive or moving tapes. We are very close to this. I imagine many folks are in my boat in this in-between stage where we get to watch HD on our LCD TVs but must work in the stone ages with our DVD video editing software and equipment. I would appreciate any suggestions how to get better performance either by upgrading to newer software from Adobe (provided this will really help), buying a better capture card, changing my settings in Premier. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    >typically pick the DVD 16x9 High Bit Rate setting
I will qualify this by saying that I (used to) use Premiere 6.02 and the MPEG output added by a Pinnacle Dv500 card's software, so I don't have any direct experience with Premiere 6.5 and the MainConcept coding engine
    But, I am
    switching over to Premiere Pro
which also uses MainConcept, so I have some experience with settings
For a video up to one hour, your current settings are probably the best you can do
For over one hour, you should look at 2-pass VBR settings
In Pro, there is a place to adjust the 3 individual components, and I used a MINimum bitrate of 3 and MAXimum bitrate of 7 (see below) and would then play with the TARGET bitrate to have the highest setting where the software would say there was enough space (on a DVD) to export the project
That "play with" consisted of adjusting the target bitrate a tenth at a time (6.5 6.4 6.3 etc) until the status message would change from insufficient space to READY... at which point I knew I had the best quality the software could give

Burn Error Proof DVDs (Well, close to error proof!)
Use the SLOWEST possible burn option your burner will allow in Encore, since it is much better to take a bit more time burning the disc than it is to burn "fast" and have a disc that won't play
Set the VIDEO portion of the transcoding options to a Maximum of 7,000 so your burned disc will have a better chance at playing in desktop players (which support burned discs, if at all, only as an "after thought" of the DVD specification)
Use AC3 or PCM audio transcode settings for best player compatibility (some discussion of MPEG audio not being supported by all players, especially for NTSC discs)

  • How Do You Convert a DVD video to an mpeg video?

I was just wondering...how do you convert a DVD disc that has videos in it and make it into quicktime mpeg videos that can make the computer understand?

    Hi Ryan.
The FREE program HandBrake will convert DVDs or just sections into mpeg4 files. They can't be imported directly into FCE but they can be imported into iMovie.
Then you just copy the iMovie files into FCE.
    Download it here:-

  • How do I edit a DVD video in Final Cup Pro

    Hey all,
I'm working on a project and I need to take the video on a DVD, bring it in to Final Cut Pro, add titles to it (text) and then output it to be burned back to a DVD.
I can't loose any quality either, so it has to look the same as it does on the original DVD, just now with text.
I've already looked around at other programs but none seem to work.
HanDbreak: This program takes FOREVER to encode the DVD. It said it was going to take 5 hours to rip a 90 min movie. Unacceptable.
ffXMpegX: This program simply doesn't work. When I attempt to press the "encode" button after picking my settings, it tells me to find a specific file before it can continue (?!)
MPEG Streamclip: This is being touted as the best by people on forums, but I find it to be the worst. The GUI is downright confusing as there isn't one! There aren't any options, buttons, settings, drop down menu's, fields or ANYTHING. In fact, this thing looks just like a bad video player. I dragged on dropped a .VOB file in there, it took it and the video appeared but there aren't ANY OPTIONS after that. Am I missing something?
MactheRipper: Okay, so this is alright for ripping the VIDEO_TS folder and that's about it. More or less pointless for what I want to do I guess.
So can anyone please help me? I really need to get this done.
    Thanks

I can't loose any quality either, so it has to look the same as it does on the original DVD, just now with text
Not possible. FCP cannot edit DVD video, it needs to be converted. Conversion means quality loss. Then you edit, and convert AGAIN to DVD...more quality loss.
Want zero quality loss? You need to get a hold of the original material that was used to make the DVD.
MPEG STREAMCLIP...drop the clip in the box...the look in the FILE menu under EXPORT...There are your options. But this won't be zero quality loss. Again, that is not possible.

  • How do I copy a DVD-video to my iPhone using Toast 10?

I apologize if the answer to this question is already out there. I tried searching for answers without luck. I want to take a DVD-video I own and get it onto my iPhone using Toast 10. I am sure this is suppose to be simple but obviously, I can't figure it out. Yes, I read through and searched the .pdf user manual for Toast 10 as well.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Patty

As long as it is your DVD that you hold any copyright and there is no encryption on it then Toast 10 will convert it.
If it is a commercial DVD that you purchased and it is encrypted then neither software mentioned here will work and the Terms of Use of this site prevent any further discussion of the topic as it is illegal to use software to break DVD encryption.
