I Have an iPhone 3GS, and I wanted to know how to tranfer videos I recorded on my 3GS, to my computer, so I can edit it on my computer, etc. I have a Windows XP, by the way.

The video has to be converted to one of the following file name extensions (formats) before it can be imported and edited in Windows Movie Maker:
.asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
Free video converters are available online. Simply Google: free video converters.

Hi all, I'm not the smartest when it comes to anything other than the basic downloading of music on to my itunes and diseminating it to my respective devices from there. Yesterday however our kids had their first school performances. I took several iphone snipets (ok, 25). I'd like to be able to share them with family, but I can't get them off of our itunes account and on to my ipad so that I may share them on a screen bigger than the iphone. I'd also like to add that I am not the most computer savvy, so words like proxy, ip, server, etc give me the hives. You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iPhone and iPad with an App like Photo Transfer.

Or you can upload the videos to the Dropbox service using the Dropbox App on the iphone and download them to the iPad using the Dropbox App on the iPad. By the way, once the videos are on Dropbox you can share them with others.

Why can`t I burn the Video I took with my iphone to a playable DVD that works in DVD players. Made a video, put it on my computer then added to my library. Created playlist, selected "Burn to Disc" but only creates a data DVD. I need to know how to burn my Video to a DVD-RW that will play in any DVD player.

There has got to be somebody wih an answer on how I can`t or can burn a dvd in itunes of my own home made video.
I have found something about idvd, but why would that be the only option? itunes should have the capability to burn to dvd (a playable dvd)your personal videos insted of buying different software. Otherwise it`s only good for music. Why have an iphone? Why not buy a camera and the software to burn pics or video to what ever you want. This makes itunes obsolete in my mind. Windows media player as well. I downloaded itunes to our computers because we have iphones. Now it`s just limited to burning music, insted you have to buy more software to make it possible to burn playable dvd`s of personal vidoes and pics,? that should already be included in itunes. itunes should be able to reconize licensed products over personal videos downloaded from a persons iphone.

Launch Image Capture and connect the iPhone to the Mac to upload the video to the Desktop. From there it's into iDVD or another DVD authoring application.

it worked the first few times i did it but the next day after i closed out of itunes once, the device only appears when i plug in my phone.

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

The sync is bi-directional - both ways.
You should have been syncing the contacts all along. Do you not do this?

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click: File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.
