Connect the old iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes, select the iPhone under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
Select Apps from the menu, select the Sync Apps box, then click Sync.

In iTunes, File>Transfer Purchases.
Anything not purchased from the iTunes store can not be transferred from the phone to a computer without purchasing 3rd party software to do so. It is not a backup device or data transfer device.

The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintan a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back.

Every time i try to sync it, it says that all songs on my phone now will be replaced with the songs in the library...meaning since there is no music there that it would just be erasing all my music on my phone. Hello, I have a (Company owned) iPhone 4 with upgraded IOS5 installed. I have 345 pics , several videos, notes, contacts, and my favorite songs(68 of them) in there. I must return the phone to my former employer. I have purchased a new phone with an SD card capable of 8GB external storage. I also purchased an 8GB flash/thmb drive per advice of the Verizon retail store that stated they can only transfer pics/contacts and failed to even do that after a 2 hour wait. so, how do I transfer my data from old iphone to new Gallaxy S Fascinate? You can import photos to the computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. Contacts and calendar can be synced to the computer as well to a supported application. How to transfer them from there is something I don't know, unless the new device supports getting contacts from those programs. You can also sync your calendar and contacts to gmail and then you would be able to sync them to the Droid that way. songs are in iTunes and are saved on your computer if you have them added there. However they could be in AAC version which would mean you would have to convert them for the Droid. You might want to go to an Android forum, they may have information there about how to do it, since many Apple owners have switched to Android.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device witha different setup you transfer the old library from a computer or a backup directly to the new setup, not the device to the library. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

How can I delete all the songs from my iPhone 5s.

The software is up to date so its not that. I have also turned off the 'show all' option and there are still tracks left. It won't let me drag the songs sideways to delete, and when I connect the phone on my iTunes and click un-sync it from my music it STILL doesn't remove all of it (despite a message saying this will remove all songs and playlists- rubbish).

Make a smart playlist of your whole library but only checked songs - #4 on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1801
Highlight all files in that playlist, then drag to the other drive. This isn't preserving any playlists or whatever, just copying files from one drive to another.
You might want to delete the smart playlist this once you are done because it will probably gobble up resources with that many files.
