How do I transfer all of my Preferences, etc. when upgrading from CS6 to CC

Hello,
I just decided to upgrade today from CS6 to CC. After downloading Premier Pro CC, I notice that NONE of my Preferences, Sequence Presets, Media Export Custom Presets, Effects Presets were carried over to the new version of CC.
Surely, I do not have to manually re-create all of these presets/settings.
Can someone please tell me there is an easy way to get everything transfered over from CS6 to CC?
Thank you,
Robert

The best option is to use Migration Assistant to restore your data from the old computer, and as you have a Time Machine backup of the old MacBook, use that backup.
The link from where you have posted this question gives you the steps to transfer files from another Mac, but transferring files from a Time Machine backup is even easier. To do it, just connect the Time Machine disk to the new computer and then, open Migration Assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps.
When Migration Assistant finishes, you will have a new user with the data you have restored from your backup, so go to  > Log Out and log in the new user. If you want more information about that process, read > http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html
If you haven't set up the new computer yet, you can restore the backup through Setup Assistant. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html

  • My old PC is about to die. How do I transfer all my data, apps etc to a new PC

I have been backing up my iPhone and also iPad2 on an old Windows PC which is soon to die - it seems. I would like to transfer all data, apps, contact, etc to my new Mac but cannot sync via iTunes as all existing apps will be deleted. There must be a way to transfer from one PC to another and then sync with eth new one, but how please??

The SyncToy tip will help to get your current library archived to an external drive so that you can migrate it from the PC to the Mac. However you should not in general attempt to merge two different library folders with this tool. Where two files have the same relative path within the two synced folders the newest will overwrite the oldest. In the case of your library database files this might have unintended consequences. Instead move the existing iTunes folder on the Mac out of the way, restore the migrated library from the PC into your profile's music folder so that it becomes the default library, then import any additional content from the media folder within the previously moved library.

  • HT1420 since upgrading to a domain the computers had to be re authorised for itunes, is there a way to deauthorise compters without waiting till the next deauthorise all?  this also happens when upgrading from windows 8 to 8.1.

since upgrading to a domain network itunes has asked to be re authorised, this also happens when upgarding from windows 8 to 8.1. my next de-authorise all is In January, but i cant wait that long what can i do

If a computer's taking up multiple authorizations, try deauthorizing it even if it says it's not authorized. If that doesn't work, go back to the article you asked this question from and use the link to contact Apple under the 'To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID' section of it.

  • How do I transfer all my files, programs, etc from my 10.5.8 OS X IMAC to my new Mavericks IMac?

I am looking to migrate all my files, photos, Word & Excel files over to my new IMac from a older 10.5.8 OS X IMac.  The Migration Assistant does not work.
Can I also get my MS Office programs to move over?   I am NOT tech savvy in the least.   Is this something I can tackle myself?
    Thanks

Is my iMac an iMac PPC or Intel?
If you were, you'll need this tip for migrating:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2295
If not, you just need to find Intel native counterparts to your old PowerPC software:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271 and just save the documents while they are on 10.5 to a more portable format for 10.7 and later.

Depends on why it's ineligible.  If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version.  (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".)  Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match.  Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.

  • Lost my laptop, how do I transfer all media from phone to new pc?

Lost my laptop, how do I transfer all media from phone to new pc?
    cheers

By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are replacing your computer, your phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
    1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under Preferences>Devices in itunes(under the edit menu if using Windows).
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Outlook, Windows Address Book) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
    3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
    6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
    7. Right click again and select backup.
    8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
You should be good to go.

Hey, I had the exact same issue. The way that Apple explains to do it is change your iPod into hardrive mode by messing with the preferences. While your iPod is hooked up to your old compuer, go into preferences and check the box saying enable disk use. Then your iPod will appear on the desktop and you can drag the song files into it. I don't know if you can transfer them all at once or not. Anyway, then you hook up the iPod into the new computer and drag the songs into iTunes. I had trouble doing this and it erased all my songs one time but I think it was an error on my part. Another way to do it is to send the song files through AIM. Have someone on the old computer and you on the new one and send them in large bunches to the new computer. Yet another way is to e-mail them to yourself and download them on to the new computer. The sure-fire way (and the way I finally succumbed to but it worked!) is to download the program iPodCopy on the new computer and follow the instructions to have your music quickly and easily copied. It does cost $17.00 dollars to download but I was willing to pay the price to have my music transferred hassle-free. Just type iPodCopy into google and it should come up. After months of trying and searching how to transfer my music to the new computer, this was my last resort and it was well worth it!
I hope my suggestions help you out in your iPod escapades!
Let me know if they work. Buenas Suerte.

  • How can I transfer all my data from my current iCloud account to a new one?

    Hello,
Please allow me to explain my situation:
I currently use an iCloud account named, for example, [email protected]
I have recently rebranded my business from www.current.com to www.new.com.
Because of this, I would like to create a new iCloud account with an email account name of [email protected]
I realize that I can achieve a similar result by adding an alias of [email protected] from my [email protected] email, but I would like to change my account name for the iCloud service itself as well, not just email. This is for aesthetic reasons because I would like to have the same login for everything I use.
How I can transfer all my iCloud data from [email protected] to [email protected]? I would like to transfer all data completely, as I use every feature of iCloud extensively, including email folders, notes, Safari bookmarks, etc.
Thank you very much, I look forward to your response.

  • How do I transfer all info from one Mac to another?

A few months ago I bought a new MacBook Pro, and want to use my old one as a backup. How do I transfer all the info on the new one to the old one? Got a firewire, if that helps.  OS 10.8.2 on both.

    You said:
We all confuse with your question.
You all confused? Well, I clear things up! Sorry... I be unclear...
Recently my old MacBook crashed while I was in LA, and I bought a new one almost identical to us. I have to have a working Mac when I'm out of town making presentations. So...yeah, I guess I want to format the old one like a Time Machine disk...so that when the new one crashes or won't open up for some mysterious reason, I can go to the old one and use it. Both have the latest OS, and there's plenty of room on the old disk for the info. Any reason I could't do that? I'd prefer to do it as quickly as possible...not do individual documents, etc.
