How do I transfer apps from an old computer to a new one?

My laptop died.
I got a new computer and I am trying to transfer all of the Itunes content from the old laptop to the new computer.  I was able to transfer the music but, how do I transfer the other stuff like apps, tv shows etc.
Also, Will I be able to transfer play lists?

    There is no need to "buy" appliclations again.  You can backup your old phone to iCloud and restore the backup to the new phone.  You can also re-download them for free from the App Store.

    Are the apps in itunes on your computer?
    The backup does not contain any itunes content.  You should always make sure that everything is on your computer. If you have failed to do this, then you will need to redownload the apps.  Open itunes store on your computer, click Purchased under Quick Links

    Do you know which version of Mac OS is installed on your iBook? You can find out by choosing "About This Mac" from the Apple menu. Using a FireWire cable with the Migration Assistant (as Dal suggested) will be the best method. But, you'll have to be using Mac OS X 10.1 or newer to transfer all your files automatically.

    Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
    Any attempts to sync the iDevice on the new computer without doing this will wipe the device and replace the existing contents with contents from the new, blank library.
    iDevices are not storage devices, they are merely mirrors of the content in iTunes.
