How do I transfer emails from Entourage to imail?

I recently downloaded Lion OS and I need to start using imail instead of Entourage. How do I tranfer over all of my old emails and files?

The iPhone does not sync messages with anything but the server. They are also not part of the iPhone backup.
Messages residing on your employer's Exchange server are the property of the Employer. If you can't forward them and select a different outgoing account for the from address, you'll have to transcribe them by hand.

  • How do I transfer emails from a non-active superseded inbox to local files.

I have changed servers and cancelled my old server (email service). I want to transfer all my old emails from my old inbox into local folders so I can delete the old account. I have a new account and a new inbox which is working fine. When I try to transfer emails from the old inbox, the software tries to logon to the old server - which no longer works - and won't let me transfer the emails. I can see and read the emails - so they are on my local computer. I don't want to lose all the old emails. I no longer have access to my old server.

Imap emails are kept on the server.
If you synchronized folders for offline use, then it would create an mbox file and keep a copy on your computer. When you connect with server, it updates this file so that the server and your copy are the same.
As the server is no longer accesible, they will have removed all emails, so you do not want to connect to that server as it would wipe all your emails to match the server. So it is good that you cannot connect. It is also fortunate that it did not make a last connection to an empty server. For future reference it would be better to move IMAP mail account emails prior to stopping the account.
It sounds like you synchronized emails, which explains why you can still see emails.
Two options that I can think of:
Go into 'offline mode' and then try to move the emails into Local Folders.
    Another option.
Download the addon 'ImportExportTools', then in offline mode, use it to move the emails.

  • How do I transfer email from Panther to TIger?

It seems this is a tricky one:
I have a new iMac running TIger, and I want to transfer my emails from my Powerbook running Panther (10.3.9)
I have tried to manually copy all the appropriate folders:
the Mail folder in the User/Me folder, in the User/Me/Library/ folder, and the User/Me/Library/Caches/...
This did import the folders, but they were empty- no emails, except for the new emails that were in the Inbox.
I can see the .mbox files, but Mail 2.0.5 doesnt seem to see them... Is there an Import option?

Replace ~(yourhome)/library/mail with the same folder from your PB.
Replace ~(yourhome)/library/preferences/com.apple.mail.plist with the same file from your PB. This is a very important file which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences.
When you launch Mail for the first time, decline any prompt to import.

  • How can I transfer email from RCN to Verizon?

    Hello,
I am a brand new Verizon customer.  I need to transfer all my mail from Inbox and subfolders from old RCN account to new Verizon account.
Is there an easy way to do this?  All email clients only see Inbox because of POP architecture, no email client seems to see subfolders.
When I first logged onto Verizon, a webpage appeared that allowed me to enter my old email information to start a transfer, but I cannot find that program / webpage anymore.
    Thank you.

Import Email, Calendar, Address Book into Verizon Online Email (Message Center)
To access Verizon Online Import Tools in Message Center:
Login to Verizon Online Email via Message Center with your user name and password. Forgot your username and password?
Select Settings from the top navigation and click Import from the left navigation. From the left navigation, select what you need to import.
What do you need to import?
Select one of the following from the left navigation:
Import and Switch Email: The Import and Switch Email feature copies your mail and personal information from one provider to another. Additionally, this feature will send notification to all your contacts, informing them of your new email address. Select Import Email Accounts and an email address and password to get started.
Import POP3 Email: Post Office Protocol (POP) is used by email applications to retrieve messages from a remote server such as Yahoo or GMail. To import messages from your POP3 account, select Add Email and choose from the list of email providers to get started.

Enter your email address and password and choose to import contacts from another email provider or download your .csv file if you use email software, like Outlook Express. • How do I forward email from website to entourage

I bought a domain through google and had it forwarded to iweb. How do i get my emails (e.g. [email protected]) to show up on Entourage? And, how do I send emails from entourage under the name BABADOG. I've spent hrs. trying to find the answer and am very frustrated as I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Firstly you need to go to your Google account and set up your domain name e-mail account. You would probably need to select and password and e-mail name such as [email protected] and then this will be set.
Then go to Entourage and set up the account there, so this means that you need the pop and smpt settings for the mail account, but these should be available from Google.

  • Transfer emails from Outlook on PC to Mac with OS10.4.7?

Can anyone help me with this? I actually have 2 problems here (I'm helping a friend move to Mac from PC).
    1. How can I transfer emails from Outlook on a PC (with Windows XP) to a Mac Mini Intel Core Duo running OSX 10.4.7? There are a LOT of mails - one mailbox has over 4,000 emails - but I didn't think that would make a difference. All are POP accounts.
    2. I have made one attempt whcih took hours to achioeve then on the last mailbox import Mail, showing in the Mail sidebar all the new mailboxes I'd created with their mails in them, suddenly lost the lot! I can't find any of the mails I've imported anywhere in the computer now, not even in Home> Library> Mail> Mailboxes. Where could they have gone? Renamed? Moved of their own accord? Deleted without asking? Made invisible?
Does Apple Mail have a limit to the number of mailboxes it can handle? Or the number of emails?
Many thanks for any help on this.

Microsoft does not make this process an easy one even when trying to switch from Outlook to another non-Microsoft Windows email client.
I'm not sure how the first import process worked in the first place since the Mail.app import mailbox feature is not compatible with Microsoft's proprietary/closed Outlook message/mailbox storage process.
There is a program called O2M (formally called Outlook2Mac) which can be downloaded and purchased for $10 at this link.

  • How to transfer emails from Mail onto iphone?

just got my iphone and having fun using it so far.
i am trying to get work out how Mail works on the iphone in terms of how it syncs with Mail on my imac.
i really want to load some old emails from Mail (on my imac) onto the iphone. i tried dragging them from Mail onto the iphone icon in itunes but it won't let me do that.
for example i deleted some emails on the iphone by mistake, yet they are still in my inbox on the imac and wish to transfer them back onto the iphone so i can read thme on the move.
is there a way to do so?

Email account mailboxes and messages are not included in the iTunes sync process and you cannot drag or transfer email from your computer to your iPhone or vice-versa.
The iPhone's Mail app is no different in this regard from using an email client on your computer.
If you want email account mailboxes and messages to be kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account, you need an IMAP account, not a POP account. Either way there is no option to drag or transfer email from your computer to your iPhone or vice-versa just as it isn't possible to do the same between two email clients on your computer.

  • How can I transfer photos from ipad 1 to pc

    I have an ipad 1 - ios 5.1.1
I want to transfer the photos on the ipad to a windows 8 pc.
Should be a really simple operation - yes? wrong.
After visiting 30+ webpages, downloading various 3rd party software (and deleting them again) - I am still unable to transfer photos from my ipad to a windows pc.
I connect the ipad 1 to a pc using cable.
    PC shows ipad.
Then you get the option to import photos (Which 20+ websites just repeat).
Contained in the DCIM Folder is 2 thumbnail photos. Yes - just 2. Two.
Stored on the ipad is nearly 3,000 photo's. NOT 2!
So how do you move photos from an ipad to PC?
    Next problem.
Someone recommended using Syncios - wonderful.
    All photos found.
All photos copied - except they are copied as thumbnails.
It would seem that ipad stores your photos as a thumbnail - but when you email the photo the true size is sent. (Thumbnail is 11kb - when I attach the same photo to an email it shows it as 1.1mb)
So - apart from creating and sending 3000 emails - so that I can transfer photos at their original resolution - HOW DO YOU TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM IPAD 1 TO A PC.
Apple really couldn't have made a 30second operation more difficult - or deliberately impossible.
There is NO option to do this via iTunes.
I can transfer photos from a PC to iPad using iTunes - but not the other way around.
So - please - does anyone have a degree in astro-physics that can explain how a person is supposed to transfer full sized photos, that are stored as thumbnails - from an iPAD 1 to a Win 8 pc?
ps... and yes I am irritated. This has taken me 2 days so far, and still unable.
pps... and no, I really don't need people posting - oh yes I have the same problem... I need answers.

HHow did the photos get on your iPad? since the original iPad does not have a camera, the photos were either received in emails, copied from the web or synced from your computer. If they were copied from emails or the web they should be available to copy off the iPad using whatever Camera or image capture application you have on your computer. Connect your iPad, start the application and transfer the photos.
if the photos were synced from your computer, they should still be on the computer used to sync from.

  • How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?

How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?

If your old device is an Apple using iOS 5 or later, and you have an iCloud account, you can transfer all your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPhone.
    Here's how...
Connect your old Apple device to WiFi and to a power source.
Back it up to iCloud by going to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and toggling iCloud Backup on. The time it takes to ba ckup depends on how much data you have and on the speed of your internet connection.
iCloud backs up your device once a day. If it needs backing up before you transfer to your new iPhone 5, tap Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Do not start transferring before the backup is finished.
Turn on your new iPhone and complete the setup by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. When prompted, choose your WiFi network.
When prompted to set up, choose Restore from iCloud Backup, tap Next, and enter your Apple ID and password.
Select the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device has finished restoring from the backup.
When the restore process is complete, your iPhone will restart and be ready to use.
Connect your iPhone 5 to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). You can choose the data that are synced by clicking the syncing tabs in iTunes.
