this has me perplexed...i can sync and transfer contacts from phone which originate from a PC or SIM but cannot manage to transfer exchange contacts from an old exchange group to outlook so i can import into a new exchange group...

Hi Allan,
the situation is i have the exchange contact group on my iphone but it no longer syncs over the air as i have left the business with that exchange, i now have a new exchange account to setup and want to sync these contacts to my pc then sync into the new exchange.
I think if i delete the exchange group off my iphone the contacts will be forever lost ?
i have synced my contacts from SIM and My PC but it does not pull across the exchange contacts in my iphone to outlook ??
appreciate any advice.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you can't do this on a computer, which would be much easier using drag and drop, then you will need to share the contacts with yourself in order to move them to the iCloud account.

How are you trying to transfer them? Via Bluetooth? If so, that will not work.
You need to get the contacts from the Casio phone into a supported contact manager on your computer (Address Book/Contacts on a Mac or Outlook on a PC) then sync them to the iPhone via iTunes or iCloud.

You are syncing contacts or trying to sync contacts how - direct with a supported address book app on your computer via the iTunes sync process, which is selected under the Info tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?

1.Plug your USB cable into the computer and charge/sync cradle, which comes with your phone.
2.Place the iPhone in the cradle. iTunes should start automatically and recognize your iPhone.
3.Click on the iPhone logo in the left navigation pane of iTunes. You’ll be taken to a screen that gives you an overview of your phone and has several tabs along the top of the window, among them, "Contacts."

Precisely what adami said. Hook up your ipad to your computer. Under 'info' choose to sync contacts. That will put them on your computer. Then plug in your Touch and choose the same, to sync contacts with the computer, and they'll transfer.
Alternatively you can go into each contact and choose to 'share' it and mail it to an account that you can access on your Touch, then open it and save it. Upside, no computer needed, downside, it's a bit tedious.
Theoretically you can also use iCloud, however the cloud ate my contacts so I'm not syncing via the cloud for that anymore. Your experience might be different, but I personally would avoid the cloud unless you've got them all backed up somewhere in case the cloud eats yours too.

You have to get the contacts from the online address book into whatever application that you are using on your computer in order to sync them with iTunes
I have Comcast email as well and have never done this since all of my contacts in the online address book are already on my Mac. I believe that you can combine all of your contacts from Comcast and Outlook, Mac Address Book and other online email accounts then they can all sync with Outlook or Address Book on the Mac.
