How do I transfer mp3 files to itunes on Itunes11 on a Pc

Hello
I hope someone can assist. I have just reformatted computer using Win7 64bit and after loading the latest version of itune's attempted to reload my music from a separate drive on  the computer. When I hit the "scan for media" nothing happens. I have also tried to add the music by clicking on file and add a file however this will take forever having to load each song individually. On previous versions of itunes this seemed to be a relatively easy task.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

In iTunes on your desktop/laptop under the File menu choose Add to Library... and select the songs you want to add to iTunes. When iTunes is done adding the files, sync your iPhone with iTunes on your PC.
When your iPhone is attached, in iTunes click on the name of your iPhone in the left column. A series of tabs (sort of) will appear on the right, with with "Summary" tab selected by default. Click on the "Music" tab, check the "Sync Music" checkbox, and choose "Entire music library." Sync again (the button in the lower-right) and you should be set.
That's all there is to it.

  • How do I transfer MP3 files from my PC to iPhone

Although I've read many items concerning this issue I still can NOT understand how to transfer some of my MP3 files to my iPhone.  When I attempt to transfer or sync song from my iTunes it states it will erase all of the other songs I have on there.  I did do this once when I first got the phone but have totally forgotten how I did it.
I do not want my entire Library transferred to my phone, just certain songs that are on my PC.  I thought it had been a pretty easy task.
Can someone give me the steps for doing this?
    Thanks.

Iphone is only meant to be sync to one itunes media library.  That is why you're seeing the message about erasing all the songs.  Did you sync those other song from a different itunes library?

  • How can I transfer mp3 files from my PC to my Ipod Touch 4?

I have an Ipod Touch 4 that was given to me. I use it almost exclusively to listen to audio books downloaded from various libraries. Once upon a time long ago I did manage to download some music (mp3 files) to the Ipod but I have no idea how. Now I would like to transfer some additional mp3 files to the Ipod but I have no idea how to do so and I have not been able to find any instructions that make sense using Google. I should also mention that I find ITunes to be the most confusing non-discoverable software I have every encountered. The instructions for dummies won't do. When it comes to ITunes I need the instructions for someone who can just barely find the on/off switch with both hands in daylight. Thanks for any help.
P.S. I developed business application software for 40 years so I am PC literate, just not ITunes and Ipod literate.<g>

  • How do I transfer my files from iTunes to WindowsXP Pro or visa versa?

I'd like to be able to figure out how to transfer music files out of iTunes to Windows Media, and from Windows media to itunes.
I've got a bunch of lecutures in both, but both don't do what I need them to do. In a perfectworld, I'd be able to get iTunes to sync to my mp3 player and give Windows Meda Player a swift kick into the ether where it belongs!!!
It appears there was a little box entitled "write protect" that was clicked over the last few years as I was ripping my lectures on to Windows Media Player that now won't let me move those files much of anywhere.
Could someone please help me figure this out?
    Thanks!

If the Copy protect music option was selected in your WMP Rip Music settings, your only alternative is probably going to be burning the files affected as Audio CD's, uncheck the Copy protect music option and then reimport the CD into iTunes - or import it directly into iTunes.
If the files currently in iTunes are .mp3's, you can just copy them to a location WMP can access them. If they're .m4a files, though, you will have to convert them to .mp3's first.

  • How do I transfer mp3 files from my Win XP desktop to my ipad2 ?

I installed Itunes on my Windows XP Pro desktop system. I eventually created two separate folders on itunes
    to organize mp3 files.
But I'll be dammed if I can get those mp3s on itunes to transfer to the iPad2. I have turned on match under the
    store tab, in Itunes.
I have looked for something to activate it on the ipad. The iPad2 lists recent purchases.
(These voice mp3s are not music)  It lists all songs. It has a tab which says download all songs.
    It does nothing.
There is a tab for 'not on this iPad', it doesn't do anything.
There is a tab for the cloud. It doesn't do anything.
I have wasted 1 1/2 hrs getting nowhere. Not impressed, Apple.
When I plugged in the USB cable to the desktop, I did see my photos and videos, period, nothing more.

You can use 3rd party apps like Music Download.

  • How do I import MP3 files to itunes and then downloand them to iPOD Video

I have just recently acquired a 60Gb ipod video and I have folder with the name of artist with MP3 format music files on my hard drive. How do I copy them to itunes and the ipod in MP3 format and if they need to be converted into another format to itunes and the the ipod, please advise me how I convert them. My email address is [email protected] for sending copies of your reply to this posting. Many thanks

    mondrayuk,
    - Open iTunes
    - File=>Add Folder
    - Browse to the location of the MP3 folder
    - Click OK
Depending on how you prefer iTunes to manage your Library, wither the files will be copied to the default iTunes music folder and a reference will be created within iTunes,
    -OR-
Just a reference will be created within iTunes to the current location of the MP3 files without a copy made in the iTunes folder.
iTunes and the iPod can play MP3 music files. No conversion is required.

  • How do I transfer mp3 files into my Zen touch playe

    Hi guys / gals,

  • How do I transfer .mp3 files from my PC to my iPad Air

Have .mp3 files (recorded bird songs) that would like to put on new iPad Air.  Also have old MacBook.

If you want them in the Music app on your iPad then you can add them to your Mac's iTunes library via File > Add To Library (or drag-and-drop them from Finder into iTunes).
You can then sync them to your iPad (you've synced the iPad to that Mac before ?) by connecting it to your Mac, selecting it via the device icon that should show in your Mac's iTunes towards the top left (next to the content category icons), selecting the Music category on the left-hand sidebar, and selecting and syncing them to the iPad.

  • I can burn CDs from Windows Media Player, but not from itunes.  I always get Error 2131.  How do I transfer music files from itunes to Window Media Player Library?...or convince itunes to burn a CD?

    Cannot burn CD from itunes.

The thing is, they are in the unprotected format? (
They are protected WMA from when you RIP'd them with WMP. iTunes will not read them.
Go to WMP Tools -> Rip Music.
Under Rip settings, it is set to *Windows Media Audio* and most likely *Copy protect music* is ticked. This is how it is protected.
You will need to reRIP them all from CD.

  • How to transfer mp3 files to 4s from a PC without itunes?

How to transfer mp3 files to 4s from a PC without itunes?

No can do. Closest you can do is to use iCloud and iTunes Match. Otherwise, for mp3 files you will have to import them to iTunes on the computer and then sync them to the phone.
