How do I transfer music from my ipod or macbook pro (itunes) to my ipad

How do you transfer music from my macbook pro to someone's Ipad?

This doesn't appear to be an option anymore.
I can check songs but there's no transfer button -
Syncing doesn't transfer songs in that direction -
You can add to a playlist but the song still isn't there.

  • How do I transfer music from my ipod or macbook pro to my ipad

Once again, how do I transfer my music from my ipod or itunes library to my ipad?

    You have 2 separate questions.
One is getting stuff from iTunes to your iPad.  The other is getting stuff from the iPod to anything else.
By default, you can't transfer anything from iDevices to iTunes.  There are several third party programs, however, that allow you to do this.
Getting stuff from iTunes to the iPad is a case of plugging in the iDevice and dragging-dropping the files you want to your device.  Or syncing the relevant stuff.  There is plenty of literature on this available in iTunes or on the Apple site.
    Hope that answers your question.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.

  • How do i transfer music from my ipod to my new itunes library?

I want to get my music from my ipod to my itunes library. is this even possible?
    PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!

    Hi Liv-itup,
    Yes, it is possible.
I assume you must have downloaded on some other machine than the one you want your music on...
First, Authorize your current machine to your iTunes account - iTunes.app>Store>Authorize Computer.
Second, get yourself a copy of Senuti (iTunes backwards) - it's free:
    http://www.fadingred.org/senuti/
    and off you go.
    Good Luck,

  • How do I transfer music from my ipod to my PC/iTunes

I've recently purchased a new computer and I created a new iTunes account as my old computer crashed. All my music is still on my iPod but how do I transfer my music from iPod to my PC/iTunes?
    Thank you

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to transfer iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • Transfer Music from Windows iPod to MacBook Pro

I just bought my daugter a Macbook Pro to replace her Windows laptop. All her music is on her Wiindows iPod and her Windows laptop. Can I move her music to new MacBook pro and then switch her iPod to a Mac sync ipod without screwing up her music?
    Thanks.

    Hello Richard,
There are several different potential methods for accomplishing this task. You can either use a CD/DVD to back up and transfer the library, an external hard drive, or the iPod itself.
For instructions on how to make this possible with the iPod, check out this Apple support document. There is also a link at the top that will bring you to the page with instructions if you want to back up to CD or DVD.
[How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer |http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329]
The last option is an external hard drive of some sort. A simple Google search for "move iTunes library external hard drive" should give you a plethora of sites that can assist you.
Just make sure that with whatever route you take, that you carefully read the instructions and don't miss any steps.
The last step you will have to take is to restore the iPod via iTunes once you have safely transferred the library to your new computer so that the iPod can associate itself with the new library and location. Here are instructions on how to restore your iPod.

  • How do I transfer music from my iPod Touch to my iTunes account?

I've had my iPod Touch (8GB) since December 25, 2010. I had a laptop but since it was infected with viruses, I did not install iTunes. A few  days ago, I had my laptop fixed and installed iTunes and my computer refused to sync up with my iPod. That's when I realized that iTunes transfers all the files from the COMPUTER to the IPOD and not the other way around. I know there's progreams online that I could download to help me, but I dont wanna risk getting a virus and shutting my computer down. Is there any simple way I could do this without any external help? (Aside from you, of course!)

    No.
The music sync is one way -computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases:
    File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use this to put everything back.

Trying to transfer my iTunes library to my new MBP.
    Is firewire the best method?
    Thanks for any help.

You should ask your question to the Itunes forum.
Personnally I did use the migration assistant that not only copied my Itunes over but also all my settings and mails and safari preferences..
A simpler way would be to copy your whole Itune folder BEFORE running Itunes for the first time on your MBP.

  • How do I transfer music from my iPod to my computer which was not purchased on iTunes?

I just downloaded iTunes Match to my MacBook Air. Now, how do I transfer music from my iPod to my Mac which I did not purchase on iTunes? When I downloaded iTunes Match, it did its thing, but none of the music that I burned from CDs showed up on my Mac. Is there something else I should do? (I still have my old computer with my entire iTunes library on it, but I haven't used in in a while. Should I do something with that, as well?)
    Thanks!

    1) I did indeed specify what model my iPod is, as you can plainly see. I even specified which iOS I’m operating on.
True. My mistake. I didn't see it.

I'm actually currently serving in the Peace Corps in the Eastern European country of the Republic of Georgia, so I'm not always able to get back to posts as quickly as I would like. So I'm glad you were able to get it sorted out by searching the support communities. But as I tell my students (who are learning English as a second language) pronouncing and using words correctly is important to them being understood by native English speakers. The same goes for technology terms. If the correct terms aren't used (for example "import" and "rip") then misunderstandings can occur and it can take longer to get your problem solved.

How do I transfer music from my ipod to my computer without replacing the music on my ipod with the music on my computer?

You can't do that with iTunes (except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer songs files from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the songs files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library.  Then, you can sync your iPod to that iTunes library, as desired.
