How do i transfer music from PC to a mac?

i just got a mac and i cant figure out how to transfer the music from itunes on my PC to itunes on my mac. i thought i could use my ipod to do this but it says that my ipod is PC-formatted... i dont want to mess anything up, like accidentally delete all of my songs off of my ipod. i have absolutely no idea what im doing so any help would be amazing

You can also copy the contents of the iPod to the Mac. Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

it depends from the OS which is installed on your computer. At first you must access your Music folder which contains the iTunes folder:
Windows 7:
\username\My Music\iTunes.
Windows XP:
\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/
In this iTunes folders you can find a "iTunes Media" folder which contains your Music. This Music you can than copy on a flash drive

You can't send or receive music files on your iPhones.
You can connect the iPhone to your PC or Mac, after that you have to open iTunes and then Sync the device with your Music Library.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.
