how can i transfer a movie bought in tunes throught my ipod touch, to my usb flash so i can watch on my dvd player using the usb plug?
    can i do it?

A movie purchased from iTunes can only be played on iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs and authorized computers. Even if you transferred the movie to a flash drive, it wouldn't play on your DVD player.

  • How can I transfer my old music files to my new iPod using a different computer from that used on the old iPod?

I got a brand new iPod and wanted to put the music files on my old iPod to the new one. In addition to this I would like to know how to sync my new iPod to a different computer from that of the old one. Is it possible for me to accomplish all this with music rescue?

Put everything on one computer and sync to that computer.

  • How do you update and back up your ipod touch 4 to ios 5?

So I really want to update my ipod touch 4 to ios 5, as it has many new features. The problem is, i am afraid to because i am worried that all my apps, music, and pictures will get deleted. I know many people say to back it up, but when you back it up, do you press update and then does all your data get saved? If not what do you have to do. I read so many answers on how to back up and update but im still in doubt. Also, the songs on my ipod are not from my itunes, they are from my cousins, so do i have to back up on her pc? I just want a very simple step by step process on how to update and back up your ipod,(keeping all apps, music, and pictures) the safe and secure way. Thank you, anything will help.

Apple has stopped signing iOS 5 firmware. The latest version available for your iPod is 6.1.3. You must first backup your iPod then press Check for Update. Backing up will save all of your data on the iPod Touch and your sync options. And no, you can backup on your PC, press Sync and allow iTunes to transfer purchases and copy them to your iTunes library. If your iTunes library does not contain the music on your iPod, I recommend trying to drag it to your library from your iPod. And make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes. When the update finishes, restore your iPod from the backup you made. And to save pictures from your Camera Roll, go into My Computer and open the iPod and copy the pictures to your computer.

  • IPod touchm  notes disappearing off iPod - found on email account.  How do I get them back on the iPod touch?

My Notes (yellow notes app) disappeared  from my iPod touch running iOS 6.1.3  and found out here they'd been "synced" to my email account.  Sure enough there they were.  As suggested, I went into settings for the email account on my iPod and removed "notes" as one of the things to track.  I checked the settings for Notes and there is no option to make the iPod the place to keep things (apparently, this is an option on the iPhone version of Notes). Now my test note has stayed on the iPod.  But how do I get the old notes that are sitting in an email account back to my iPod?
Also, I'm not sure who decided "sync" should mean "remove from one device and put it on the other device".  This is not most people's definition of "sync".  It isn't done with email syncing.  When I send mail (yahoo or gmail), from either the iPod or some other device, the sent mail shows up on both devices, not on one or the other.

Are you sure they are not there?  Check your later pages.  Syncing often reloads the apps out of sequence.  Also check in iTunes under Apps that Sync Apps is checked.

  • How can I transfer iBooks from my 4th to 5th gen iPod Touch both running iOS 6, using iTunes 11?

I downloaded the e-book The 80/10/10 Diet by Dr. Douglas Graham directly onto my old 4th gen iPod Touch from interviewthemasters.com a while back so my Purchases in iTunes 11 still shows no books available to re-download.  _None_ of my iBooks content (e.g. bus route PDFs) show up _or_ seem to sync, even though I have Settings that all available apps sync their data _and_ back up into iCloud.  I even got to a PC, downloaded iTunes, restored from my 4th gen's backup right onto my 5th gen, and still nothing in the way of my iBooks content, though the first time I pulled it up, I saw them on the shelf for a split second...>:-|  What's going on?  Why won't it propagate to my new device via iCloud?  Nor can I find a way through iTunes 11 to get my content to my new iPod (yes, I have all authorized under the same Apple ID).  Please help!  All my annotations through iBooks are very valuable to me and I don't want to keep my old iPod and drag it out any time I want to reference my own notes on a book I bought!  Am I to believe Apple cares nothing for my personal data unless it's through their store, and extends entertainment industry shenanigans to disable their own apps with _my_ content garnered elsewhere, _presuming_ it "must" be content which can be found on the store?!  If so, how do I get control back of my own data?  Apple used to say "tough" if you wanted to re-download purchases.  Are personal effects like Notes and iBooks still a drop-stitch?  The larger issue of ignoring private content and disabling their ecosystem presuming content is illicit outside their store is pernicious to say the least, and if Apple officially declines to right that wrong I really will leave their ecosystem, and burn the path behind me.  I can't be the only person in this boat regarding cavalier ineptitude/negligence regarding basic functionality other than hooked into Apple's money machine.

To reiterate, the 80/10/10 book was purchased from interviewthemasters.com and worked perfectly as a e-book through iBooks including annotations, hilighting, etc.  It never syncs to my machine _or_ iCloud, so I cannot try your recommendation regarding the iTunes Book library, unless you can explain how to get it from my iPod into iTunes.  The fact Apple syncs only its store's content and disables syncing for my own independently procured content, particularly as the sole means of communicating with iPods, I find reprehensible and is a perfect example of screwing their customers and hobbling their devices for the supposed privilege of offering entertainment industry content since offered elsewhere far less restrictively and at higher quality (Spotify, anyone?).  In any case, if anyone can explain how I can get my own book onto a different iPod, I'd love to hear from you—and no, I'm not anxious to use shady PC utilities, and those well-reviewed don't support anything but music and movies.  I do not have access to a Mac, only my iPods and a PC, right now (I'm working on it!  Trust me, aside from wholly unnecessary shenanigans, Apple offers a vastly superior product!).

  • How do you transfer specific music from your computer to your ipod touch?

Ive read threads of how to do this and so far none have helped...Im trying to add specific songs that are on my computer to my ipod touch (4th gen).  I do not want the songs on my ipod transfered to my computer.
When I go to the ipod device in the menu collum of itunes on my computer, & then pick the "music" tab in the menu bar I get very limited options that I can choose.
    it says
    1. sync music .... If I try this selection a warning msg pops up " all existing content on ipod will be removed & replaced with songs & playlist from your itunes library"  I don't want this! I just want songs added to ipod
    2. below this selection are 4 options inside a gray box.  These selections are not available for reasons unknown to me.  They read
      a.  Entire music library
       b.  Selected playlist, artist, albums, and genres
       c.  include music videos
       d.  include voice memos
selections a,  c, & d have tick marks by them
As far as I have found up to this point this is somwhere close to the vicinity that I want to be in order to get done what I want to get done.  I don't know... perhaps I'm coming at this from the wrong angle.  Maybe I should use the ipod , and come at itunes from its interface?...

I have not sync with another computer.  Brand new Ipod touch from christmas.  same computer.  I have however conected it to this computer before & because I was ingnorant it synced automatically with this same computer.  I was ****** because it messed everything up.  So I erased my ipod completlely and started over.  I also un-installed itunes and started over with its as well.  I then put only music that I wanted on my ipod onto my computer in itunes.
Now I cant figure out how to get that specific music on my ipod... this is all very maddening!!.. I feel like throughing both computer and ipod out my 2 story bedroom window

  • How do i transfer my pictures from my computer to my ipod touch?

i am having trouble getting my pics from my desktop to my ipod touch. can anyone guide me through the more than likely easy steps cause i am new ipod owner thanks

    1. create a folder (mine is called 'ipod photos')
    2. put all the photos you want on your ipod in that folder
    3. open itunes, plug in your ipod.
    4. on the overview screen, click the photos tab
    5. check the, 'sync photos from' box.
    6. browse to the folder you want to sync with
if you want to have subfolders on your ipod, then inside your 'ipod photos' folder, create subfolders and place the photos in there.
e.g. i have a folder called ipod photos, with subfolders, family, friends, other.
on my ipod i have four folders, family, friends, other, and Photo Library (the ipod automatically places ALL the folders in the 'Photo Library' folder.
if you want to put your pictures in a specific order, put a number in the photo name (e.g. 01 Mum, 02 Dad, 03 Birthday.) if you have more than 100 photos you might need 001, 002, 003, i'm not sure.
    'Saved Photos'
sometimes you may notice on your iPod a 'Saved Photos' folder appears. this is where the iPod stores any photos you acquire actually on the iPod. Usually from email, safari (holding your finger on a picture while browsing the internet in safari will result in a pop up menu that allows you to save that photo) or from screenshots (holding the home button and the power button at the same time will give you a screenshot).
You can access these when your iPod is plugged in to your computer by navigating to it as if it was an external hard drive, this will let you move the photos to your computer if you want to keep it.
These 'Saved Photos' are the only ones you can delete on the iPod (tap the screen, should be a bin icon that comes up), the others you will have to delete using your computer (delete them in your 'iPod photos' folder.)

  • How do i transfer my Mpeg-4 files back?

Hi i gots lots of videos on my I-pod that i deleted from my Windows XP. But the movies are on my ipod but there gone from my computer, how can i transfer stuff back to the computer from the ipod?

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. Howeverthere are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

  • TS4124 Hi, do you know how can I upload inelegible songs from itunes to Icloud. They are songs added from original CDs. Another question would be how can I transfer all the music I have in my Ipod Classic to my Itunes or ICloud as I want to back it up.

Depends on why it's ineligible.  If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version.  (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".)  Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match.  Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.

  • How do I TRANSFER CONTACTS (back up contacts) from iPhone 4s to Windows 7

How do I TRANSFER CONTACTS (back up contacts) from iPhone 4s to Windows 7

THANK YOU. Sorry for late response. Had to pick someone up.
randers4    - I decided to go with the My Contacts Backup app which produced success (I'll know for sure if I need to use the file)
JoFlo57  - I understand that I could use iCloud but I'm a little on the paranoid side about everybody's data in one location... what with hackers getting into Sony's Playstation accounts and other infamous huge hacking security failures I frankly don't feel safe storing anything on iCloud.

Wow, you didn't make a backup of your files first?
You shoudl have come here first for help before doing that.

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.
    Good luck

  • I lost my email in Mail once I upgraded to Maverick. I have them (hundreds of them) on my iPad. How do I transfer them back to the computer Mail program?

I lost all my saved messages in my Mail folders when I switched to Maverick. They are saved on my iPad 3. How do I transfer them back to the computer without emailing each one separately?

The Mail.app preference file (which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences) is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.
All Mail.app mailboxes and other data is stored in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail.
With the Mail.app quit on the new hard drive, place a copy of the Mail folder from the old hard drive at Home > Library on the new drive. If there is an existing Mail folder at Home > Library, this will replace it.
Place a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file from the old hard drive at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive. If there is an existing com.apple.mail.plist file at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive (and there should be one if you have launched the Mail.app on the new hard drive), this will replace it.
Launch Mail on the new hard drive and the Mail.app should be completely restored or identical to the Mail.app on the old hard drive.
