    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
also, there are PhoneView and iRip.

I transferred data from my Macbook Pro to my Mac mini but it forced me to make a new user for my old data.  How do I transfer my music, pics, and docs from the "old" user to the new user (so that I only have one user instead of 2?)

Unless you transfer the files from Setup Assistant, Migration Assistant creates a new user with the data.
To transfer the files to your first user, you have to log on this new user, and copy all your files to /Users/Shard folder. This is a folder where you can put the files you want to share between two or more users, and all users can read and write in it.
After copying the files, go to your first user, open /Users/Shared folder, and copy the files to your user folders. If you migrated applications, you must know that they are stored in a common folder (/Applications), so you don't have to transfer them. To open /Users/Shared folder, open Go menu (in the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type the folder

This is one of the most basic of functions of the iPhone.  This is a good time for you to read the User Guide.  All the instructions on how to operate yor phone are included.  I suggest you read through it.

How do I get all of my music and apps from my iPhone on to my new iPad

For the items you mention you sync them both to the same iTunes library which acts as master archive and source for all your mobile devices.

  • How do i move apps from my iPhone 3GS to my new 4S?

how do i move apps from my iPhone 3GS to my new 4S?

To backup your phone (3GS), plug it to your PC, when Itunes opens up, you will see your phone on the left hand side, right click on it and do a back up.
When you set up your 4S it will ask if you want to restore as new/ from a backup from Itunes or icloud.   Select restore from back up then plug your phone to your PC and then let Itunes back up your phone.

  • Is there a way to transfer all the music and apps from an iphone to a computer with a new hard drive

I've had a new hard drive fitted in my laptop and i wanted to know if there is a way that i could tranfer my music and app from my iphone to itunes on the computer?

Yes, the Mac can read NTFS drives, but not write to them.
If you have the drive formatted FAT or exFAt then the Mac can read and write to it. But before formatting, remove the data as it's erased, and format it on the PC as it's easier. Right click on Windows and Format.
    Drives, partitions, formatting w/Mac's + PC's
Moving your personal data via the external drive is likley the best option, there are other methods like Migration, but they are problematic and take a long time, a drive is simple, fast and direct.

  • How can I rapidly transfer files and apps from an old Macbook to a new Macbook?

I purchased a new Macbook Pro to replace a 5 year old Macbook.  The 5 year old Macbook has Firewire 400, USB and Ethernet ports as well as WIFI and runs OSX 10.7.5.  The new Macbook Pro has USB 3, Thunderbolt, and HDMI ports as well as WIFI.  I started the  transfer  process with migration assistant using Ethernet cable from the older Macbook and WIFI on the new Macbook Pro.  I also connected a USB3 cable to the two computers for good measure, but migration-assistant only gave me the option of using Ethernet.  The 2 computers did sync and after 30 minutes the screen said it would take 30 hours plus, and after 3 hours it was up to 310 hours.  I am hoping that there is a simpler and faster way.  Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.

You can get a thunderbolt to firewire adapter. You can then get a firewire 400 to 800 cable and put the old computer in target mode. Then you can follow these instructions.

Choose migrate from other disk or volume.

  • How can I transfer a game (in progress) app from an iPad 2 to a new iPad mini?

My daughter has been playing a SIM type game on my wifes iPad 2. She recently got her own iPad mini and would like to tansfer her apps to it. The guy at the apple store explained how to do this through icloud, but she lost her progress in the game.
Is there any way to save her progress from the iPad 2 to the mini?
    Thanks.

What you would have to do is Restore the new iPad mini using the backup for the iPad 2 whether it is on iCloud or stored in iTunes. If you created a new Apple ID for your daughter you will have to change the Store and iCloud logins after in the Settings. The mini can then be customized to it's own settings and apps and will create it's own backup.
Should work, but I have not test this myself but is worth a try.

  • How do I migrate my extensive ipad files and apps from my old iMac to my new windows machine?

I had to go to a windows machine. All of my stuff, apps, books, music, pictures, etc. is on my iMac. Is there any way to gracefully move the information  from the iMac to the windows machine? It's about 60 GB.

If all your data is on your iTunes library, follow the steps of this site to transfer your library to a PC with an external disk > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1751 You have to do the "Restoring your iTunes Library backup" step on your PC.
Apart from that, if you have got more data you want to transfer, you can put it in the external disk, too. You must do this because there isn't an app to migrate files from a Mac to the PC

  • How do I transfer my data and apps from my iphone 4S to my Iphone 5S

I am having trouble transferring my data and apps from my Iphone 4S to my Iphone 5s

You can use the IMacsoft to help you transfer all the files(music, movie, contact, call list, SMS,etc) from the old iPhone to your new iPhone 5S, transferring just need a few seconds, I have tried it and everything works so well.

  • How to design SQL server data file and log file growth

how to design SQL DB data file and log file growth- SQL server 2012
if my data file is having 10 GB sizze and log file is having 5 GB size
what should be the size in MB (not in %) of autogrowth. based on what we have to determine the ideal size of file auto growth.

It's very difficult to give a definitive answer on this. Best principal is to size your database correctly in advance so that you never have to autogrow, of course in reality that isn't always practical.
The setting you use is really dictated by the expected growth in your files. Given that the size is relatively small why not set it to 1gb on the datafile(s) and 512mb on the log file? The important thing is to monitor it on an on-going basis to see if that's
    the appropriate amount.
One thing you should do is enable instant file initialization by granting the service account Perform Volume Maintenance tasks in group policy. This will allow the data files to grow quickly when required, details here:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175935%28v=sql.105%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Also, it possible to query the default trace to find autogrowth events, if you wanted you could write an alert/sql job based on this
    SELECT
    [DatabaseName],
    [FileName],
    [SPID],
    [Duration],
    [StartTime],
    [EndTime],
    CASE [EventClass]
    WHEN 92 THEN 'Data'
    WHEN 93 THEN 'Log' END
    FROM sys.fn_trace_gettable('c:\path\to\trace.trc', DEFAULT)
    WHERE
    EventClass IN (92,93)
    hope that helps
