How do I transfer my photos from my iphone to my computer in order to free space on my iphone?

*Disclaimer:  I am new to icloud and iPhone so please dont flame me.
I have my iphone 4s syncing with iTunes.  I have created a seperate folder to have the phone sync with.
My photos keep taking up space on my phone and I want to download them to computer and/cloud so I can free up space on my phone.
I have storage on the icloud (which I bought and probably didnt need to) so that is available.
Thanks,

If you are using windows, you want to go to my computer, right click on your phone and select import pictures and video, it will give you the option to delete after importing, which will erase them from your phone if you want or you can manually delete them
Just keep in mind, syncing takes content from the computer to the phone, importing goes from phone to computer

You should be storing everything on your computer.
Just sync them to your new iphone.

Photos taken with iphjoe should be imported to your computer regularly as with nay other digital camera:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Phots synced to your iphone from your computer are synced one way only - computer to iphone.  Since they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there and should be included in your regular backup of your computer.

  • HT4528 How do I transfer the photos from my iPhone 4S to my Windows 7 computer or any other system that can hold 2,500 photos?

Basically, I took a ton of pictures at past concerts, formal events, etc. So I need something to transfer all of those pictures onto. I currently have 9.1 GB of photos in my iPhone which really limits me on phone space. I would like to save these photos, they are very important to me. Also, I tried this before on my Windows 7 computer but it only downloaded 850-some pictures. I figured that was from the space left on the computer, but I'm not sure. If you could help you will be my favorite.

I doubt it was space left on the computer, unless you have space problems. You would use the Import feature in Windows 7. You can also try accessing it in Windows Explorer, open the device, open the folder and drag the photos over. Because you have so many, you may run into some difficulty, because the photos should be imported regularly in case something happens to the phone. That many photos also probably makes it difficult to backup, or at least take a long time to do it.

  • How can i transfer my photos from my collection into my computer?

I'm not sure how I can get all of the photos that I have off my phone. the ones from my camera roll are imported in but I would like the ones from my collection imported too. I don't know how to do that

If you connect your phone to a Macintosh computer, you should check out the computer app iExplorer. The developer is Macroplant. I use it, and it works quite well, I can archive almost everything that is on my phone. The interface takes some getting used to, but it's worth the effort, sure beats mailing each picture to yourself.
I assume there are similar applications for other platforms.

  • HT201302 How do I transfer my photos from my iPhone to my Windows 8 HP computer?

I've been trying to figure out how to get my photos that are taken from my iPhone onto my computer. Unforturnately, I have Windows 8 so none of the tutorials on the website help. Has anyone got any advice or have done it themselves?

Easiest way on a Windows based computer is to email the photos on the phone to an email address that you can access on your computer.

  • How do I transfer my library from my iPhone to my new Macbook Air?

How do I transfer my photos from my iPhone or IPad to my new Macbook Air?  I last synced to my old Macbook Pro, and have since had a major issue with the library on that computer.  The library on my iPhone and iPad are good and would like to import those to my iPhoto on my Macbook Air and just start from there.  Any suggestions?  Thank you!!! Craig

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
