How do I transfer my recent purchases to my nano?

This used to be very easy but a lot has changed for the worst with this itunes 11. Who created this giant mess and when are they going to fix it?? I made 25 recent purchases from the store (something that I'll stop doing). How do you get those purchases onto my nano? There's no way to highlight and drag. And even if you wanted to, the nano is found on some other page. Still trying to figure out how to download previous drm purchases from icloud. 20% of my 09 and prior purchases had a cloud icon next to them and I did it...but the rest are sitting there drm protected. There is no "download all purchases" button at the bottom, either. Anyone? Bueller?

Hey, thanks, really appreciate that little tip. Never had to do that before. So, icloud is new to me. I may be able to figure this out now that you opened the whole thing up for me, but have another quick suggestion on how to download all my drm protected purchases from icloud? Still not seeing the cloud icons next to the tracks that to be downloaded from cloud, nor this "download all purchases" button. I just went to "store" and "check for available downloads" but says all have been downloaded to my apple id. Thanks again.

The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc.

as already mentioned, use File->transfer purchases to copy your apps and bought media to your computer, or right click on the device in the device list and choose "transfer purchases"

That is usually an indication that the Volume was never Erased or Partitioned for GUID partition table and Mac OS, and is still in a Windows format.
Mac OS X Extended (journaled) has no such file-size limitations

You should be storing everything on your computer. Just sync it to the iPhone of your choice from your computer.

You can also re-download most previous purchases (not just songs) from the iTunes Store from the Purchased screen. So, you should be able to get the "one missing purchase" back too. Sign in to iTunes using the Apple ID used to make the purchases. Go to the iTunes Store. (With the new iTunes 12, select the Music category first, then go to the iTunes Store.) Click on Purchased (along right side under QUICK LINKS). From the Purchased screen, you can find and download previous song purchases, at no cost.
You can also re-download purchases from other iTunes categories, such as Movies and TV Shows.

1. Plug in your iPhone to your Mac/PC
2. Open itunes.
3. Your iPhone should be shown on the left side panel.
4. Right Click on the iPhone icon and choose "Transfer Purchases".
This will transfer item purchases in iPhone (but not available in itunes) back to iTunes.

I recently purchased the new nano (7th generation) and I love it except for one issue. On my old 2nd generation nano, when I played podcasts, it would play podcasts one at a time. So if I had 20 episodes of a podcast on the device, it would stop at the end of each one.
With the new nano, I can select and play a podcast, but when it’s over, it goes straight to the next one without prompting. It keeps on playing all of the episodes of any podcast until you stop it manually. Setting the repeat function differently does not prevent episodes from being played automatically.
This can be very irritating when I only want to listen to one podcast. I’ve often fallen asleep listening to one episode of a podcast, only to be woken up hours later by the iPod working its way through all subsequent episodes. It is also annoying that any podcast which has started automatically in this way is marked as ‘played’ – even if you stop it within a few seconds. This makes it hard to keep track of what you have actually listened to.
Is there any way to set the iPod to play all the podcasts individually? I have read the User Guide from cover to cover, and can’t find a way of doing this.
