How Do I transfer Photos Off My iphone/ipad?
Maybe Im not understanding this because Im a PC User...
I have several "albums" of images on my phone. I want to transfer them off. These albums do not show up when I access the device directly in Windows Explorer. I can't seem to locate them anywhere.
If I select sync photos via itunes it will remove these image and resync to whatever folder I specify.
How do I find these albums and transfer them off my phone??
If they were originally synced from a computer, you will need a 3rd party App to get to them, as they cannot be accessed through the Camera Folder in Explorer.
They are not retirevable directly.

How can I transfer photos from an IPhone 5 to an IPad 2 using a cable. I have tried using the lightning to firewire adapter with my current lead but this only seems to allow a download from the IPad to the IPhone and not the other way around.
The devices are not designed for transfer of that kind. Use Photo Stream as suggested by another poster, or transfer photos to your computer (a good idea anyway since they will be lost if your device needs to be reset), then use iTunes to sync them to the other devices.

Pics taken with the iphone are imported to your computer as with any other digital camera ( as explained in the manual).
Pics synced to your iphone from your computer should still be on the computer.

Would be much appreciated.The iphone is not a backup/storage device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.

If you have a computer, connect the phone with a USB cable and import the photos in the same way you would import them from a camera. -

Photos can be retrieved from an iPhone like any other external storage device - connect it to your PC, open "My Computer", access the files. Otherwise you can also use iTunes.

You can't use iCloud to store your photos in order to free up space on your phone. The only photos in iCloud other than the ones stored in your backup are photo stream photos. And when you use photo stream your photo stream photos will still be stored on your phone. In other words, you can't post your photos in iCloud and view them from there without having them stored on your phone. There are many other photo hosting services that provide this (such as Flikr, Smugmug, Picassa and others).

Open a photo on your iPhone then tap the share icon bottom left corner of your screen then tap Next then tap Mail. Send the photo to yourself.
Open Mail then control click the photo then click Open with then click iPhoto. If iPhoto is not available from the pop up menu click Other then navigate to the Applications folder then click iPhoto.
