How do i transfer pics and videos from an i 5 to a pc? I want then removed to save space on the phone and not reloaded every time i sync the phone!
I need to do it wiith the sync cable, not over thecell connection

Two steps:
you can first transfer photos from iPhone to computer and then drag them to the external hard drive. For your iTunes library, you can follow:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Locate your external drive.
Mac: On the desktop or Finder sidebar.
3. Locate your iTunes folder:By default, the iTunes folder is located in:
Mac: Finder > username > Music
4. Drag the iTunes folder to your external drive. This can take a while if you have a lot of items.
6. When the transfer is complete, your iTunes Library will have been successfully copied to your external drive.

I am quite confused with how iCloud and Photo Stream work to transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC. I recently ran out of my space on iPhone so I need to delete all of my pictures and videos but I first want to confirm that they have all been transferred over to my PC. I have iCloud setup but here lately I have been getting the warning message that iCloud could not perform it's backup because I was out of space on iCloud. You don't move them to iTunes or an iTunes account.

If your phone is SD card capable then you can transfer them using it. If not you can reactivate the old phone, text them to your email, then to the new phone. Or possibly by connecting the old phone to the computer and downloading them that way.

Three things happen: One, the laptop doesn't acknowledge any new hardware. Two, considers her iPhone is under my name. Three, won't do a thing with the iPhone unless I sync it with my iTunes.
