How do I transfer VI's from MAC to PC using floppies?

I have moved 4.1 VI"s from a MAC to a Dell PC running LabView 7.0, using 1.44 Mb floppy disks. Although most of the VI displays correctly on the dell, some of the sub VI's can't be found and the VI's won't executer on the Dell.

Sounds like you didn't get everything need transfered.
Try going back to the Mac and open the top level VI and do a 'Save with Options' from the 'File' menu. In the dialog that opens, select the 'Development Distribution' option on the left and hit Save it to your hard drive. This will save all the needed VIs into a single file with an .llb extension. (at least I think it will on a Mac, never used one for LabVIEW)
After that, go to the 'Tools' menu in LabVIEW and select 'VI Library Manager'. Browse to the .llb you just created, hilight it and click the 'Convert LLBs to Dirs...' button. This will save all the VIs in the library into a directory as individual VIs again, and you'll be sure to have everything you need to transfer.
If this still doesn't d
o it, maybe the application was built with some Mac only subVIs, so they can't work on Windows. Try opening the applicaiton on the Windows machine and in the 'Browse' menu, select 'Show VI Hierarchy'. This will at least show what VIs are missing.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

How do you transfer Pages documents from Mac to Ipad?

If you have iOS 5 on the iPad and enabled iCloud in Pages, you can go on your Mac and go to http://icloud.com, then click iWork, then click the gear icon and upload the document. It should appear on your iPad.
If you have an older OS on the iPad, you will need to plug in to the Mac and launch iTunes. Click on the iPad under DEVICES. Then click on the Apps tab up top. Scroll down until you see a File Sharing section. Click on Pages, then click on the "Add" button.

Thanks for that, it was really helpful.
Glad to hear that worked for you. While formatting an external drive with a Mac format is best if it will be used only with a Mac, if the files on the drive have to be accessible to a PC also, it's possible to format it in an exFAT format, which both the Mac and a PC can read from and write to. However, if you do that, do the actual formatting while the external is connected to the PC.

If they're iOS applications, sync the iPad.
If they're Mac or PC applications, you can't.

  • How do I transfer PDF files from PC to IPAD using Itunes 12.1.2.  Previous versions let me drag file in Itunes to Ipad and files appeared under Ibook but can't get it to work in latest 12.1.2 version.

How do I transfer PDF files from PC (Windows 7) to IPAD using Itunes 12.1.2.  I would like to do files manually rather then auto synch.  Previous versions let me drag file in Itunes to Ipad and files appeared under Ibook and then I could move them to an appropriate collection title.  The interface appears to have changed in the latest ITunes version and I am not sure what the proper procedure is.

King_Penguin - Thanks it worked perfectly.  I had my pdf files copied into ITunes on my PC but when I clicked on a pdf file to copy it I thought the sidebar would appear with my IPAD name and then I would drag it over.  I didn't realize that I needed to click-and start dragging it towards the left-hand side for the sidebar to appear.  It worked like a charm - THANKYOU!!!

  • How can I transfer my 'pages' from mac to I-pad and back again?

Hi, how can I use the 'Pages' on both my desktop  and the I-Pad? I've tried using DropBox but it doesn't seem to work with Pages? Any other ideas?

This is how it works if your iPad is connected to your Mac and you want to sync back and forth.
Find the document in Pages on your iPad that you want to transfer to your Mac. Click on the curved arrow icon at the bottom of the window and a dialog box pops up with several options. You can choose any of these options to send the file to your Mac. The third option, the one that I use, is send to iTunes. Tap that icon, select the file type that you want to use for the document (Pages, pdf, .doc) connect your iPad to your Mac, launch iTunes, select your device on the left side of iTunes. Then select Apps in the top of the iTunes window and scroll down to the File Sharing box. Select Pages and then sync. That document will now be transferred to your Mac and you will see it on the right side the box called Pages Documents.
To go from the Mac to the iPad, (while the ipad is connected to your Mac as described above) select Pages in the File Sharing box, then click on Add in the lower right corner of the Pages document box, select the file that you want to transfer to your iPad, tap the down arrow icon in Pages on your iPad, select Copy from iTunes, and the file name will appear. Tap on that file and it will transfer.

  • How do you Transfer Itunes Playlists from Mac to Mac?

I know this question has been asked on here before, but it doesn't seem as though it has been answered. I recently bought a new MacBook and am trying to transfer my playlists in Itunes from my Imac to the new laptop. I have no problem transferring the library of songs, but I cannot seem to figure out how to transfer the playlists. Anyone know how?
    Thanks.

    Kay--
Thank you for your response. Now do the computers have to be hooked up via a firewire cable to do this? and does one have to be in Target mode? Sorry for what are probably simple and stupid questions.
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • How can I transfer "Pages" files  from my IPad to my Mac?

How can I transfer "Pages " files from my IPad to my IMac, I cannot use ICloud because I have Mountain Lion installed on the IMac?

Actually, you can use iCloud and the way that you so it is to log into iCloud.com on the Mac (use Safari for best results) click on the Pages icon and then drag the Pages files into the browser window. It works the other way around as well. Log into iCloud.com on the Mac and download the files from Pages (that you created on the iPad) in iCloud onto your Mac. You can click on the file in the documents window and select it to Download by clicking on the Gear icon or right click upon the file and select download.
The files will then sync to the Pages app on the iPad - assuming hat you have use iCloud tuned on in Settings>Pages>Use iCloud>On. I have an iMac running Tiger 10.4.11 that I can still move Pages/Word files back and forth Iike this.
Also, File Sharing with iTunes is a great way to move the files back and forth.
