How do I turn off Announcements?

As things stand now, in every forum community view that has an announcements tab, I continue to see the same two messages cycling over & over in a yellow box near the top of the page. One advises me that all email subscriptions have been removed. The other tells me that I can use the "Discussions" tab to see unread & updated messages, & that I can set that as the default view. These announcements are present in every view & because they cycle automatically are distracting. Besides that, I am already using Discussions" as the default tab & know full well that I canceled all email subscriptions to stop an assault on my inbox.
Simply put, enough is enough. I understand that the hosts want to make sure I see these messages, but once I have please provide some way to make them go away, or if there already is tell me about it.

The Apple TV will put itself to sleep. I'm not sure what you needed to log into again, but you shouldn't have to. Do you have a little more detail about what happens.

Can't turn off "Announce the time."

I have a MacBook 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 2 GB memory, with 249.2 GB storage of which I've used only 45.69 GB .
I recently uploaded Mavericks (OSX 10.9.4), and now have two problems.
First: I can't turn off "Announce the time." I schedule my MacBook to automatically turn off at certain time and before that I will de-select "Announce the time" but it won't turn off. I've tried doing it multiple times. I've tried to backdoor it via Notifications and ultimately did a "Repair Disk Permissions and verified my disk hoping that would help — to no avail. The only way I can get it to work is if I completely shut down the computer and manually start up. A simple Restart won't do; the computer has to be completely shut down for the setting to work.
This seems to be a Mavericks problem. I've never had this problem before.
Second: When my computer turns on (either manually or automatically) I have it set so the iTunes opens automatically with it. The problem is that even though the screen has iTunes on it Finder is front of it like some kind of invisible film. This prevents me from operating iTunes remotely unless I go and manually click the screen to bring iTunes to the front. How can I get it so iTunes is automatically "in front" when my computer starts up in the morning?

Boot into the Recovery Drive by holding down Command R when restarting.
Run Repair Drive and Repair Permissions using Disk Utility in Recovery.

To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes. I have the setting to mirror each other. With this setting, the DVD movie plays on both the iMac computer screen and on the TV screen. 4) FINALLY, MY QUESTION: When watching a DVD on the TV screen, I would like to turn off the monitor in my iMac so that the screen is dark (in sleep mode to save power, etc.); I want only the TV screen to display the movie. That's impossible. It can only be done on a laptop but not on an iMac.

It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.

It worked for me and my "user" site (don't know how to say my site) and still having problems with my wife's. I have gone to OPTIONS → GONE TO → ADVANCE and CLICKED THE LINE → ""Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page…""

You should still disable this setting:
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Hi,
Open the Messages app.
Go to the Preferences item in the app's Menu.
Select the account pane in the Preferences.
Each active account should have a tick in the Enable this Account box.
This can be unticked.
This will stop accounts logging in but will not stop the app Launching in certain circumstances.
First of all check the app is Quit before shutting down the computer.
The fact the app is open even if all windows are hidden can cause the app to restart when you Start up the computer.
Messages is a Multiple window app and using the red button on the top left of a window only closes that window and does not Quit the app.
Also check the System Preferences > Users and Groups > your account > Login Items tab.
This will list items that are set to Start up when the computer does.
I have a couple of External Drive on other computers, some Anti Virus software and the common iTunes Helper plus an old version of TextExpander that will work if I launch the Preference Pane this way.

It is in Settings>iTunes & App Stores to change automatic downloads. But it isn't your device that needs to be changed if you are the one that made the download. He needs to turn off the setting for automatic downloads on his phone. I'm guessing here, but you are all sharing the same Apple ID?

I am currently developing a J2EE application using WLS 6.1.
My team and I have to implement a security requirement to suit our company's needs.
The security requirements are that, users' password need to be aged (30 days maximum) and we need to provided a GUI front-end (JSP) to allow users to change their password when these expire after 30 days.
Our internal contacts in the company, have already taken the lead to find out about whether we will be able to use the WLS 6.1 platform to do this and the answer we got back, was.
Now we need to develop our own security module.
I have 2 questions:
1. How can we turn off the WLS security in order develop our own application-based security module?
2. How can we develop a security module that allows us to age users' password and provide them with facilities to change their passwords when these expire?
At the moment, we are using the default BEA WebLogic login.jsp page and there some configuration in the web.xml for this. I will be grateful if you could advise me on how to turn this default security off so that we can write our own security module.

Your music will only be where you put it. You can download the itunes program and sign into your account on any computer, but your music/content will not be there unless you put it there.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod. File>Transfer Purchases
