I purchased a computer today and the only thing wrong is the caps lock /number lock notification that pops up in the right hand bottom of the screen. Whenever I press CTRL ATL Delete, the app that is runnning is called, HPKEYBOARD status. I tried to end it, it stopped temporarily. But when i restart the computer the problem is back, please help.

Hello @Flashster,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I have read your post on how you are looking to disable the caps lock/number lock notification on your desktop's display screen, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
In order to remove HPKEYBOARD status from your startup programs, you will need to disable by following this document on Using Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 7). The Quick Launch application responsible for HPKEYBOARD should be among the services to disable.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • How to avoid turning off the iPhone when its locked.

    Hiya,
Wondering if there is any settings to avoid turing off the iPhone when its locked. When the phone is locked with passcode holding the power button on the top provides the option to turn off the phone. So is there any way to restrict it?
    Thanks,
    SaN

    No.

  • How do I turn off the time?  The lock screen appears each time I open the smart cover.

No matter which app I'm in, when I open the smart cover, the lock screen with the time shows.  This is on an iPad Air
On my iPad Mini, it goes right to the app and skips the lock screen.
It's sure nicer not to be reminded what time it is in the middle of the night--and not have the brighter lock screen flashed!

Appreciate the reply.  The settings are identical, so that's not it!  I do not use the pass code lock, in any event.  The behavior I'm describing is, in fact, turns out to be unrelated to the lock settings!
It depends upon whether an alert has occurred after the last time you closed the cover!  In iOS 7, that will show the lock/unlock screen with the alert when you next open the cover.  In iOS 6, more properly, it will show the alert over the screen you were last looking at--no lock screen at all.
On our iPad Mini, iOS 6, we do not use the calendar, so no alerts, and we never see the lock screen or its glaring time (count me among those who would rather not know it's 3am when I decide to read in the middle of the night!)   On the Air, we return to where we left off if there hasn't been an alert--but to the lock screen if there has been one!
Truly wish that Apple would give us options as to displaying the time or not--on the lock screen and on the status bar!

I'm getting way too many spam calls to my online number. How can I unsubscribe from it? I can't find any link easily.

To unsubscribe or terminate that online number, I think you to communicate with Skype Customer Service.
For time being, you will set-out your Skype such as :-
[Tool] -> [Options] -> [Privacy] -> [Privacy settings] -> [Allow calls to my online number(s) from...]

  • Unix command to turn "off" caps lock or turn it "on" on lab machines

    Hi,
I'd like to be able to send a unix command to a lab of panther eMacs. I'm using Apple Remote Desktop 3.2 I would like to send both "turn on cap locks" to all the machines, or "turn off cap locks to all the machines.
Many of my "Send Unix Command" are applescripts (osascript....) so either a unix command or applescript command would be welcome.
    Thanks!

Well, I've been busy trying some things and found a beautiful little applescript that will turn off caps lock on 10.4 machines and newer. I'll paste it in below. Here's the problem...
I can't seem to get it to run in ARD as a unix command. (I put the osascript as first line when I pasted it in... This usually works for sending applescript commands)
So, any ideas on how to get it to run as a unix command??
IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET THIS TO WORK ON PANTHER MACHINES?? (they don't have the "modify keys..." button in the keyboards and mice pane of sys prefs). The bulk of our machines (over 300 are eMacs running panther).
    *** script ******
    tell application "System Preferences"
    activate
set current pane to pane "com.apple.preference.keyboard"
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
    tell application process "System Preferences"
    get properties
click button "Modifier Keys…" of tab group 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
tell sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
    click pop up button 1
click menu item "No Action" of menu 1 of pop up button 1
    delay 3
    click button "OK"
    end tell
    end tell
    end tell
tell application "System Preferences" to quit

how do I turn off the Camera access from the lock screen ?

Only by hiding the camera via Restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions. That hides the camera when unlocked unless you go to Restrictions  and unset that Restriction. That is not way currently from just preventing camera access only from the lock screen

  • How do i turn off the auto lock feature?  In my options it does not have "never" on it.  It is only timed amounts.

How do I turn off the auto lock feature.  I have only timed options.  There is not the "never" option available.

I've got options for 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes and Never. Have you got an Exchange email account on your iPad ? 'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible. If you remove the account the Never option will probably reappear

  • How do i turn off talkback when the screen is locked?

How Do I Turn Off Talkback When The Screen Is In Locked Mode? It Will Not Allow Me To Get To The Accessibility Icon.....

    Hi
I’d be happy to help you disable talkback on your Moto E! If you have inadvertently enabled Talkback, you can quickly pause it, and then go back to disable this feature.
Anywhere on the screen, swipe down then right in a single motion, as if you were drawing an “L”.
Note: This should work whether the phone is on the lock screen or unlocked.
You will then see 2 options in the top corners of the screen, select “Pause Feedback”.
When the Suspend Talkback message appears, double tap “OK”.
You can now normally go into Settings > Accessibility and disable talkback.
    I hope this helps!
