  • How do I turn off color management in Photoshop 5?

There are three selections, only the first two clickable, in PS5 under Color Management in the Print dialouge:
    Printer Manages Colors
    Photoshop Manages Color
    Separations (grayed out/unclickable)
Under Printer Manages Colors - there is no option to turn off color management for my Canon 9500 Mark ii
Under Photoshop Manages Color - there is no option to choose "No Color Management"
You can chose "No Color Management" in PS3, but not PS5? What happened to this option?
How is it possible to create a profile from a print of color swatches if I can not turn off color management?
(I am running Mac OS 10.6.4)
PS> this is the second time I'm contacting Adobe. First was by phone but I couldn't understand the message left on my voice mail after the phone technician had to ask for help from upper management - the english was so bad. I'm hoping by the written word I'll be able to understand. Please help.

I have researched the matter a lot and I,
along with many others, still have problems with this complicated
    subject.
Color management is as simple in theory as Honoring a Source Profile and CONVERTING it to a Target Profile (monitor or printer) for Proofing.
But yes, we work at the mercy of the rocket scientists who try to dumb an extremely complicated process down so regular folks (like me) can make it work — trouble is I think their approach needs a bit more distilling and common sense sometimes...but it is very doable once you put in the time to figure it out, just follow the CHAIN in your workflow if you're still having problems.
If you want a "simple button" try staying in sRGB and printing out of Apple Preview app using OEM standard papers matched to your printer and OEM ink set.

  • How to Turn off Color Management in Photoshop 7

Wondering if anyone can guide me through the steps of turning off Color Management in Photoshop 7 so that my Epson 2200 manages the color?
I've already tried turning off color management in photoshop color settings and also in the printing box.  My photographs print out perfect in iPhoto
but I am limited in printing size.
    Thanks

Agree, turning off color management in the color settings is 100% the wrong thing to do.
Under printer profile, select the DocumentRGB profile.
NO!  Select the PRINTER profile (and paper type, etc. as needed).
The instructions you gave will give unmanaged color, and offer no chance for the printer to do it's thing at all.  (guaranteed fail)
Having Photoshop manage the color, converting to the printer profile, and telling the printer driver to get the heck out of the way is far more likely to give useful prints.

  • How do I TURN OFF power management???

My computer still keeps going to sleep and the only way to wake it up is to hit the reset button.  I tried enabling the keyboard-wake-up to wake it up, but then it started rebooting itself spontaneously every 15 minutes -- without any warning from Windows.  It doesn't matter whether I select S1/POS or S3/STR mode -- it does the same thing every time.  I don't want S1 or S3 power management.  I want to TURN OFF POWER MANAGEMENT COMPLETELY!  I only want Windows to turn off the monitor.  The BIOS should do nothing!
    How do I accomplish this??????????
    BIOS v1.3
    NEO2-LS
    Quickboot - disabled
    IDE Busmaster - disabled
    ATA mode - native
    ATA config - P-ATA only
    Performance mode - slow
    dynamic overclocking - disabled
    S.M.A.R.T. for hd enabled
    Power Supply - @Power EP43057 (430W)
    HD Western Digital UATA WD800JB
    video card - MSI FX5600TD128
512MB Elixir 400 MHz DDR Ram
    Lite-On DVDROM
    Pentium 4 2.6GHz HT 800MHz

This is strange - my understanding is you would usually use the Power button to wake the suspended PC...
Could what you are experiencing be more of a shutdown or instability?
Is it due to BIOS setting or Windows? Here are some possibilities
    1. What is your selected Power Scheme? Are your options for Turn off hard disks, System standby & System hibernates set to Never?
    2. These BIOS settings work fine for me ...
    ACPI Standby State : Auto
    Power Management/APM : Enabled
    Suspend Time Out : Disabled
    Set Monitor Events
    FDC/LPT/COM Ports : Monitor
    Primary Master IDE : Monitor
    Primary Slave IDE : Ignore
    Secondary Master IDE : Ignore
    Secondary Slave IDE : Ignore
    Set WakeUp Events
    Resume on PME : Disabled
Resume on RTC Alarm : Disabled
    Keyboard PowerOn Function : Disabled
    Mouse PowerOn Function : Disabled
    3. Does your keyboard have any of those quick buttons for Power / Sleep / Wake ? Could any of them be stuck? (Mine has these in a most inconvenient place - between Delete/End/PgDn and arrow keys, so I sometimes accidentally pressed them)

  • Turning off Colour Management in Canon Pixma Pro9000 mk 2 ??

    Hi
In the Print area, Lightroom 4 says in italics at the bottom to turn off the colour management in the Print Dialog if you're chosing to print with a profile.
Can someone show me how to do this with my Canon Pro9000 mk2 via OSX Lion 10.7?
Being thick but can't work it out.
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Rikk
Thanks for that. Are you 100% sure though. I'm getting really poor results when I use the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi Gloss ICC profile (with the right paper!) compared to letting the printer do the colour management. The colours look like they've been worked over twice with a horrible reddy pinky effect on skin tones. It's the same colour problem I had with Windows until I figured out how to turn it off manually.
Also not sure why Adobe would have the message on the Mac version of Lightroom if it was going to turn it off automatically anyway.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Stuart

  • C5-00 How to disable/turn off colourful smiley?

    Hello,
Its very annoying that Nokia included in new software update smileys without any way to turn them off. Not all people like them.
I find it very annoying to use my C5 now only because these smiley show up.And I use text messages A LOT.
Could anyone tell me the way on how to turn them off? Or is there any way for rolling back to previous version of C5 software?
Or maybe, could Nokia make new update and include option for turning them off??

In your messaging options, do you have an option called graphical smiley? If such an option is available, then it can be turned off. If not, then Nokia should address the issue.

  • How do i turn off password manager on firefox 18, the option box is ticked but shaded so i can't untick it

I am prompted every time i visit a site that i enter a password on to save it in firefox 18, it's now getting annoying. I have tried to turn it off, but the box in firefox settings is shaded and won't allow me to turn password manager off, i know i can choose "never for this site" in the settings but with just about every site you go to now requires you to sign in it is really getting on my nerves. if this can't be resolved i may reluctantly have to change browser.

Same problem, I want firefox password manager GONE.

  • How do I turn off font preview in Photoshop CC2014

Though I can see that the font preview on the fonts selector could be useful, I dislike that is has been forced upon us. It slows things down, and I don't need to preview the fonts.
Is there any way to turn this off please?

    Hi Andrew,
A lot of users requested for this feature, that is why it was implemented in CC2014 version.
You can revert to Photoshop CC version as there is no way right now to turn of the font preview.
Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.

  • How can I turn off catalog SYNC in Photoshop Organizer 10?

I am still running version 10.  I would like to change the Organizer setup so it does not think it needs to SYNC with an online backup.  I know I can manually stop the task, but I would like the Organizer to stop trying to perform a sync.
    Thanks!
    Ken

I apologize for the long delay.  You do not understand - when I select Preferences -> Backup/Synchronization - Photoshop requires me to login.  See the screen below.  I suspect Photoshop Elements 10 or something in my configuration is telling the program I must be connected in order to modify this option.  I do recall the website no longer exists.  I never used it anyway.

  • How to turn off color management in the print dialogue

I Use Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.2
    Lightoom 4
    Canon Pixma MG 8250
Profile MG series 8200 GL3/SG3 for Glossy paper.
It is stated that "remember to turn off color managment in the print dialog" when using custom profile (I assume the Profile MG...) is regarded as a custom profile...
I have been lookoing in the print dialogue and I can not find any way to turn off colour managment...
Is this only valid for Microsoft Windows of Is there something I do not understand ?

  • When I open my image, it is covered with tiny coloured dots.  how do I turn off this view?

when I open my image, it is covered with tiny coloured dots.  how do I turn off this view? i've used photoshop for years and never encountered this.  i looked at the histogram for some means of turning it off, but no luck.  help

The issue I think is connected to the colour profile, and the 8,16, or 32 bit image mode option.  In the past, my images have come from lightroom as 16 bit files and I've never had any issues.  I guess I'm not very adept at the file handling aspect of this program.  I shoot in RAW and like to play around with my photos, then print them.  I was under the impression I should be using the srgb colour selection not RGB, but then I've read I should change it to RBG once I'm ready to save the file to print.  I also changed my files over the 8 bit from 16 once I saved the after using photoshop.
