I am trying to down load the latest Adobe Flash update, but it stops and says to turn off dashboardclient. How do I go about that.

The problem is down loading Adobe Flash. It stops and the message comes up turn off dashboard.

But if I'm reading that right, the only way to get the nagging to stop is to accept all the download that Software Downloads suggest.
Quite often it pertains only to software I never use. In these cases, I'm not interested in downloading it.
And also -- if I'm understanding that document -- I have to respond every time the nagging drops down (at least once per day).
99% of the time I have no desire to download the suggested software.
In ANY case, it is outrageous that the software resorts to harassing a customer without at least a readily visible means to turning it off
SO -- please let me know what I'm misunderstanding -- thanks..

I was getting the same problem, I have Jitouch installed, but that really wasn't the issue, it was a setting in the system preferences as sureshk mentioned. It took me a little bit to figure out where the setting is located in case someone else has the same issue.
System Preferences > Expose & Spaces (Snow Leopard & earlier) or Mission Control (Lion & later)
The keyboard and mouse shortcuts are at the bottom. My "Show Dashboard" was set for F12 and Middle Click

Niel, That's exactly what I want to do: change or turn off the default email client so MAIL (apple's mail program) does not open by default. But I can't find a way of doing that, certainly not in "system preferences". I used spotlight to find "RCDefaultApp" and nothing exists by that name, or RC Default et al...

How do I turn off autosave on osx lion? Just got new MacBook pro & autosave crashes Photoshop adobe when I'm doing large format design! This is a designers worst nightmare having autosave. Because you can do some work, then change your mind , but it's too late, autosave has saved over your work! Great for small files like text, but design large files? If you can't turn off autosave then apple can kiss goodbye to all it's design clients which is alot of there buyers I would imagine. Can you turn it off please help?

As for "oversight," I'd say it was yours, not Apple's. Should have done a little more research before you purchased. This "issue" is nothing new.

To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes. This connection works fine. 2) The purpose of the TV screen is only to watch DVDs using the DVD player and iDVD in my iMac. 3) In System Preferences->Displays->Arrangement, both my computer monitor and the TV screen appear as separate monitors. I have the setting to mirror each other. With this setting, the DVD movie plays on both the iMac computer screen and on the TV screen. 4) FINALLY, MY QUESTION: When watching a DVD on the TV screen, I would like to turn off the monitor in my iMac so that the screen is dark (in sleep mode to save power, etc.); I want only the TV screen to display the movie. That's impossible. It can only be done on a laptop but not on an iMac.

It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.
