How do I turn-off data on 4G LTE? I'm traveling, and was advised to do so.THX

I'm travelling and need to disable data to avoid charged. Do I just click on the "WiFi" button in settings to OFF? Or is there a more complex way....Is Data WiFi, Mobile network - or both?

There are 2 kinds of data that you can consume:
1. VZW's 3G/4G LTE
2. WiFi
WiFi consumes the data from the wireless router/access point and whatever service provider is attached to it. Data from WiFi connections is not held against your Verizon account. 3G/4G LTE is attached to your personal Verizon account and consumes your data. Devices only use the built in 3G/4G LTE when no WiFi is available.
If you want to avoid consuming data on your metered VZW account then refer to free WiFi hotspots or personal wireless networks. Those are "Free" to the tune that you do not pay VZW for any data that goes across those networks. Otherwise if you shutdown and stop using any applications and services that require data your usage will stop completly. There really is no way to turn off 4G LTE data, you just have to stop using it or find a different network to consume on.
To answer your question specifically, data is both WiFi and Mobile Network. However, only Mobile Network Data is monitored by VZW and will be held against you at the end of the billing cycle.

What you should do, if you don't want any nasty surprises, is put your phone in Airplane mode. That turns off all iPhone radios, but you can go back into settings & turn WiFi back on.
Do not rely on the data roaming setting to protect you.

You should be able to log into your on-line My Verizon account (assuming you're the Account Owner) and put a data block on the line, or call Customer Service and have them do it.

Thanks, that's a great soluion for something else. but it doesn't solve this. these look like system pop up windows, and seem to arise spontaneously .. .. .. not always when hovering over a link. first thing I did when i fired up the this new computer's safari was turned off pop up windows.

I understand your concern to bypass roaming charges! Please share your travel destination, so I may advise accordingly. There is no option on your current device to simply disable/enable data. I suggest not accessing any data, disabling any email account and subscriptions that automatically use data. Thank you.

I only use the integrated gps and have turned off the assisted gps, net based gps and Wi-Fi/Network but when accessing maps it still generates data traffic.
Normally this is´nt a problem but when traveling abroad data traffic costs a small fortune.
In my old N95 when I downloaded offline maps and turned everything but integrated gps off there was no data traffic at all but even after the latest maps updates (i.e. yesterday) it appears that the maps still needs downloading when accessed...
Any suggestions how to completely avoid data traffic when using maps?

Set all destinations to always ask and select no whenever the phone gives you a request, set Maps to offline, and set location to just use intergrated GPS. By the way, just been to Portugal using Vodafone and data charges only about £5 for week, and they've just improved allowances, may be worth checking your service providers web site and see if it's necessary to bother about data roaming, they all tend to follow each other, and Data roaming charges in europe seem to be coming down !

You’re using the TFS Build Definition to build your solution but not use the default TFS build process template in it?
If you don’t use TFS build definitions to build your solution, how the TFS builds’ numbers be generated and added in team project Global list?
As far as I know all the completed TFS build numbers will be added in to team project Global list by default, and there’s no a default way to turn off that in TFS Server. Please refer to the workaround in this article:

my lock button broke a few months ago and I've been getting along fine without it due to assistive touch. Now, my screen won't work at all.. I can't slide it to open it, can't slide to power off .. only thing I can do is slide down the today thing at the top and slide it back up .. I can get siri to bring me to my password screen but I can't type it in .. any ideas on how to turn off or restart my phone seeing as I can't slide to power off? Honestly the hard really right now to say what you can do. How long have you had the device? If it's under a year you can take it to apple store and they can switch it out for free. If it's over a year then it would be at a paid cost cause they can't fix that issue.

Yes, the captions themselves. Last evening I pulled up an ABC program from the ABC app (not ABC.com), and captions were on. I went to settings page and again turned on then off the captioning option. When I went back to my program, captions were still on but the cc button actually brought up dialog to turn them off. How can i turn off my ipod?

ipod had turned off before, but now cannot turn it off. It continues to stay on. I've tried to use hold switch to see if that helps, but ipod still won't turn off, and it uses up my battery. Holding play/pause button on the click wheel doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone have an idea how I can turn off the ipod?

Try holding the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset it.
Then see if it will turn off.
