How can I turn off the page turn animations on an iPhone4 ?

iBooks for iPhone doesn't seem to have the option to turn this off. I'd really like to since I set the font size quite high and turn every 1-3 seconds. The animation every second produces headaches after longer periods of reading. Thanks for any helpful answers.

The editing menu doesn't come up when you double tap. It comes up when you press and hold. It can't be turned off.

I strongly dislike Pages 5.0. For the past few months I have been deleting Pages 5.0 every time it is automatically re-installed on my MacBook Pro. Now I want to stop these updates/reinstallations. I just bloody don't want that software at all, it is so much inferior to Pages 4.3. So how do I stop the system from updating Pages, preferably without stopping other software updates?

Take a lesson from those who didn't take on the responsibility of vetting for themselves what goes on their Macs and ended up with damaged iWork files, without even knowing what happened.
You don't let anyone to come into your house to remove furniture whenever they choose.
And you don't give them unfettered access to your bank account either.
It is not going to kill you to check for updates and select which ones you want.

It worked for me and my "user" site (don't know how to say my site) and still having problems with my wife's. I have gone to OPTIONS → GONE TO → ADVANCE and CLICKED THE LINE → ""Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page…""
This did not rememdy the problem. I did try to get on the other site suggested

You should still disable this setting:
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Yes, the captions themselves. Last evening I pulled up an ABC program from the ABC app (not ABC.com), and captions were on. I went to settings page and again turned on then off the captioning option. When I went back to my program, captions were still on but the cc button actually brought up dialog to turn them off. To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes. Our internal contacts in the company, have already taken the lead to find out about whether we will be able to use the WLS 6.1 platform to do this and the answer we got back, was.
Now we need to develop our own security module.
I have 2 questions:
1. How can we turn off the WLS security in order develop our own application-based security module?
2. How can we develop a security module that allows us to age users' password and provide them with facilities to change their passwords when these expire?
At the moment, we are using the default BEA WebLogic login.jsp page and there some configuration in the web.xml for this. I will be grateful if you could advise me on how to turn this default security off so that we can write our own security module.

I really don't know where to ask this question, so I hope I'm posting it in the right location. I transitioned from the iPhone 3GS to the new iPhone 4S. On my older iPhone, I NEVER received text messages from Facebook (which is a good thing). However, now that I am using the 4S, I am constantly getting bombarded with text messages from Facebook. They are "notifications", ie, when someone posts to my wall or if someone responds to a comment that I made.
I don't know if this is something that is controlled from the Facebook web page (using Safari on my iMac), or if it is controlled from the Facebook app on my iPhone, or if it is controlled from "Settings" or "Notifications" on the iPhone. I have tried all of these places and turned everything off. All notifications for Facebook are in the "OFF" position. I am at my wit's end because this stupid thing is waking me up in the middle of the night with Facebook text messages.
If anyone can help me in finding out how to turn this feature off, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!

Okay, it has been a few hours and I have not had a single text message from Facebook. WHEW!!
It had to be your suggestion that fixed it. I don't know how I missed turning off that one notification, but I guess that's what did the trick. They have made this notification stuff a bit confusing, becasue there are multiple areas where you can go in and turn stuff on and offf, and you really can't tell what it is you're doing until it's too late.

I've perused the forums and have concluded in my computer-technically-naive mind that this could lead me to internet bliss...... I have been experiencing excrutiatingly slow or never-loading web pages.    Often, after a couple of minutes of waiting I will get a [cannot connect] message, yet when I press the reload button in the message, it then loads immediately.   This has been occurring for several weeks now. Occurs across all browsers that I am using - Safari, Chrome and Firefox.   Very frustrating.   So.... how do I turn off IP Flood Detection?
I found an assist on-line as follows: enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
User name: admin
Password: admin
On status page, click Firewall.
On the Firewall page, disable/uncheck IP Flood Detection.
Unfortunately, the admin/password given doesn't work.   Does anyone have updated ones?... or perhaps another solution?

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 5.6.1.
5.6.1 is the version of AirPort Utility, which is the software that is only used to configure an Apple AirPort router.
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 will only work with the Apple routers......not with a Bell modem.
If you have an Apple wireless router, please look on the bottom of the device for the model number. All AirPort routers have a model number that starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
If you only have a Bell modem, we would not be able to provide support for that product on an Apple support site. You will need to connect the Bell support folks for assistance in that regard.
