How do I turn off internet recovery in Mountain Lion?

I need to turn off internet recovery in Mountain Lion. The reason is if you use internet recovery you can access safari and although parental controls are on, internet is unmonitored. I want to ensure my MBP is secure from the darker parts of the internet and thus I don't want there to be any unmonitored internet access.
Is there a way to turn off internet recovery or is it hardwired into Mounatin Lion?

Open firmware password may be the way to do it. Mind you, a clever enough person can bypass that, but it takes more effort than it usually is worth. Put a hidden camera in the room if you are worried something will happen, and backup the data only when you are present. And if you forget the open firmware password, you may have locked yourself out for good anyway.

How can i turn off internet access for itunes

Every time i turn on itunes it asks for my internet username and password. If I cancel the request it pops up again after a few seconds and will continue to pop up, even if I put my name and password in.
This becomes very frustrating when I don't want to use the internet or I don't have a connection. How can I turn this off?

How do I turn off Internet Tethering?

Often when I am connected to free WiFi, I find my iPhone-4 going through the motions of Internet Tethering - which appears to curtail all other use of the WiFi.
I went to the Apple or AT&T sites for help - they show an instructions screen where the "Internet Tethering" "button" in the Setting/Genenal/Network screen has an On/Off switch. Mine does not - it simply shows either "Set Up Internet Tethering" or "Internet Tethering".
I don't need internet tethering - how do I stop my iPhone-4 from trying to do it and in doing so curtailing my wifi access?

i had the same problem with my iphone replacement 3GS with 4.0.2 iOS
i took it home, activated and let it charged until full.
then i unplug it and 7 hours later i checked it, it was 55% battery life left
i didnt do anything with it, no even call or surf on the net
it doesnt even have the sim card on (only stanby)
so looking at the setting
i saw the internet tethering spinning and spinning never stop
i didnt want to restore it as it has 4.0.2, dont want 4.1 yet
so i put my sim card
turned the 3G setting off
turned the celullar data off
internet tethering still spinning
then i turned the 3G setting on (internet tethering still spinning)
turned on the cellular data on (internet tethering still spinning)
turned on the data roaming on ( voila!!! internet tethering OFF )
then turned data roaming off and cellular data off
and internet tethering still off
let me know if works for you
i will compare the battery life if this was affecting or maybe something else

Can anyone tell me how I can turn off the autocomplete function in Lion OS. Whenever I finish typing a sentence it's made up all kinds of words I don't want!
I'm finding it rather frustrating so hopefully there's a simple solution.

Text replacement is controlled by each program.
Typically, look in the Edit menu for the program. In the Substitutions submenu is an item named "Text Replacement". Try unchecking that one.
You can also select the "Show Substitions" item in that same submenu. In the screen that then opens, click the "Text Preferences..." button. That will open the System Preferences panel for Langauge & Text, specifically the Text pane of that prefs. In that pane you can control exactly what is substituted for what.

I had Internet service when I started/activated my iTunes genius. But now, I stopped my Internet service and I cannot deactivate/stop the iTunes genius from trying to access the iTunes Store. All the websites doesn't allow you to turn off the sounds, but that is just the thing I need to do. So how can I turn off the web browsers sounds? This is so small thing, that I refuse to believe that this kind of button doesn't exits.

In Vista you can set the volume and mute setting for each application separately in the volume mixer.
You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer.<br />
You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window.<br />
You will only see the Firefox program in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.

Merely being on should not use any data. You must have something running - something using push notifications, or push email, prhaps?
So, you can either track down what is using the data and change it, or you could go in and disaple cellular data in your settings.
One other thing to check is
Settings -> General -> About -> Diagnostic and Usage data -> set it to "Don't Send"
Settings -> Restrictions -> Location Services -> System Services -> turn all these "OFF" (this will not affect how you use your phone at all, but will stop any outgoing location information being sent periodically back to Apple).

I've perused the forums and have concluded in my computer-technically-naive mind that this could lead me to internet bliss...... I have been experiencing excrutiatingly slow or never-loading web pages.    Often, after a couple of minutes of waiting I will get a [cannot connect] message, yet when I press the reload button in the message, it then loads immediately.   This has been occurring for several weeks now. Occurs across all browsers that I am using - Safari, Chrome and Firefox.   Very frustrating.   So.... how do I turn off IP Flood Detection?
I found an assist on-line as follows: enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
User name: admin
Password: admin
On status page, click Firewall.
On the Firewall page, disable/uncheck IP Flood Detection.
Unfortunately, the admin/password given doesn't work.   Does anyone have updated ones?... or perhaps another solution?

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 5.6.1.
5.6.1 is the version of AirPort Utility, which is the software that is only used to configure an Apple AirPort router.
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 will only work with the Apple routers......not with a Bell modem.
If you have an Apple wireless router, please look on the bottom of the device for the model number. All AirPort routers have a model number that starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
If you only have a Bell modem, we would not be able to provide support for that product on an Apple support site. You will need to connect the Bell support folks for assistance in that regard.

It is no longer an option in the Store menu and although I can hide that playlist on the left through parental controls, the atom symbol is still present in the lower right of the window available to generate a list from a selected song.
