How do I turn off the annoying popups asking me to confirm?? Such as confirm refresh or reload a page

whenever I reload or refresh a page, a popup appears saying:
"To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier."
I want to turn that off

See:
* Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

I'm coding in Python and VIM is auto-tabbing each new line. It's a real buzz kill.
When I hit enter at the left margine, even when there is nothing on the line above the cursor, it shoots out a tab and three spaces. I've switched to nano but feel lost without VIM. I've never seen this behavior before. I've turned off all of the auto indentation options I can think of.

Unfortunately, I have to do a ":set indexexpr='' " each time I start VIM. I've got it in the .vimrc but it seems to be ignored.
I'm used to Ubuntu and this feels really weird. It's like profiles aren't processed.
I would appreciate it if somoeone would point me in the correct direction.

I opened up iTunes (which I don't use often since I have no Apple devices) today and every time I go to a new location in the iTunes store part of the player, it plays this incredibly annoying electronic squelchy sound which I suppose the site designers think sounds edgy and ultra-modern and cool. Frankly, it makes me want to dig my brains out with a spoon. I can't seem to find any way to turn that noise off. Is there a way to do so? Or do I just need to uninstall iTunes for the sake of my own sanity?

ah yes...if only I had been as crafty and computer-literate a consumer as yourself, I would've perhaps had the foresight to go against the recommendation of the friendly salesperson at the Apple store, who assured me, despite my interest in purchasing one, that it would take three to five years for programs to be updated to run on the mac book, or something to that effect, at which point I would be getting a new computer anyway (or something to that effect.) I love Flash Builder 4, but one thing really bugs me about it: the hover tool tip that pops up when you hover over a class in your code.
I am climbing the walls trying to find a way to disable this content assist text hover.
I don't need it and it is really getting on my nerves because every time I move my cursor over a class, the pop up gets in my way.
There has to be a way to turn this off!!!!

That preference you found only disables the ASDoc content in the tooltip, it does not disable the tooltip itself. The default, non-ASDoc, content shows the signature of the definition. There isn't currently a way to completely disable tooltips. You can file a request at http://bugs.adobe.com/flex.

How does one turn off the annoying flashing green rectangle around Java windows? And how do you stop it from jumping to the top of other windows.
Both of these functions are quite annoying and seem rather pointless.

Are you referring to some Applet that you have programmed or something you found on the net? Even for the latter case, I don't have either of the problems you mention, so it's probably related to the site or your browser settings.

Where do you see the default birthday showing as Nov. 30? If you can explain that, I can probably modify the below script to do that clean up.

I'm not sure why I missed the original reply, but here is an Applescript that will change all the years of any selected contacts to 1604 (default for no year).
tell application "Contacts"
          set thePeople to selection
          repeat with aPerson in thePeople
                    set theDate to birth date of aPerson
                    if theDate is not missing value then
                              set the year of theDate to 1604
                              set birth date of aPerson to theDate
                    end if
          end repeat
end tell
copy and paste it into a new Applescript Editor document. Select all the contacts you want to change (in Contacts), then run this script by clicking on the green Run button in Applescript Editor.

Thanks Nancy. Unfortunately that doesn't do it. I turned those off awhile back. Nor can I find anything under VIEW that seems to make a difference. Just FYI: I'm on a Mac OS w/Dreamweaver CS6 - but this has happened on previous versions of DW. Thanks again.

I think the avatar pictures help a lot to visually tell apart the different users participating. Pictures are way quicker to discern than user names are.
Do you want them removed because they distract you or you find certain ones disturbing (You can easily flag those to the moderation team)?

You have two options and you probably won't like any of them.
Using the Airport Utility, click on the AE then "Base Station", then "Options". That will bring up two options for you AE green light, either keep it green at all times or only light up when it is being used.
The second option is put some tape over it.
