How do I turn off the fingerprint log in?

Having a couple extra T61's I loaned one to a granddaughter for college until she could afford her own laptop (I set up a user account for her). I made the mistake of not marking the Security Solutions "do not show again". Now a year later the laptop has come home, but unfortunately she had activated the "fingerprint" log in.
OK, I can cntrl-alt-del to get a window where I can enter the name and password of my old admin account so I'm in like Flynn with adminstrator rights. But I can't figure out how to trun off "fingerprint" for everybody to get back to a standard Windows log in screen instead of having to do the cntrl-alt-del thing and KNOWING the names of the accounts on the machine (it took me a little while to remember what I called that system adminstrator account).
Can anybody help?
We live in a rural area, too slow trying to go through on-line Lenovo manuals from home over a dial-up phone line, so I thought I'd try here before dragging a laptop to town where I can get bandwidth.

My understanding is that she replaced the Windows Login with a fingerprint swipe correct? I found some instructions surrounding this here

If you are using Windows 7, try going to the control panel, then to the biometric devices, click the option to change your biometric device settings and you should be able to disable it there.

Hi,
Will someone help me to on how to turn off the common-logging while making the com.sshtools.j2ssh connection to a SFTP server?
The connection is successful, however, I got tons of unwanted info logging from the SSHClient and SftpClient classes. Its seems the SshClient and SftpClient java classes have their own logging via the jakarta commons-logging jar file and I cannot find any reference from these two classes to turn logging off nor to get a handle to the logging class so I can turn logging off.

The fix is easy. Go to this link on YouTube and watch the video. Although the fix is for I.E., it will work for Fire Fox also. Click on the Fire Fox tab, then click on help. Click on the "Restart with add- ons disabled". Restart your computer. You will have to reinstall your old home page but that is it. After I did this I went into Google and clicked on several links and had no problems. I know this sounds too simple to work, but it does.

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.
However bothers me is the lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In Bios I could turn off the led illumination, but the power on/off button is still lighting,that distracts me when i am working.
This notebook has two power LED, so the power on lighting is in my opinion, unnecessary.
My question is: How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Yes in fact, the difference is color, design, but also location and brightness of the LED.

I was today at a local electronics store, and saw that Toshiba has the brightest Power LED on A660, but why it must be placed under the LCD and not in the front as in my old notebook Toshiba A210.
I also had the idea with a tape, but it would look ugly, and it must be removable without residue.
P.S. Also the fingerprints on the glossy keyboard do not look nice.

There are basically two types of logs that the AirPorts provide: 1) The "real-time" logs under the Logs tab of Logs and Statistics within the AirPort Utility, and 2) Syslogs which require that you provide a destination device that is set up to collect these types of logs.
Which are you referring to? If it is the former, there is no "off" option. With the latter, you would just need to remove the IP address from the Syslog Destination Address window on the Logging & Statistics tab of the AirPort Utility.

Password autofill can be secure or insecure, depending on how you use the computer, but if you want to disable it, select from the menu bar
Safari > Preferences > AutoFill

Is it the Acrobat trial that's ending? (Adobe doesn't offer free subscriptions that expire after a set time.)
If you're referring to the Acrobat trial, have you logged in with your Adobe ID and password? If not, click License this Software in the pop-up that states the trial is ending soon, and then log in with your credentials, and you should be set.

How/where are you trying to stop the subscription ?
If you are using iTunes on a PC and the drop-down menus aren't showing at the top of iTunes then see if control-B gets them to show, or try alt-S and see if that gets the Store drop-down menu to show. You should also be able to cancel subscriptions by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPod Touch an logging into your account.

the log backup on simple mode is not necessary. The full database after switching back to full is a must.
Please keep in mind, that even running on simple mode the log can be filled up, as all transactions are still written to the log. Commited transaction then can truncated from the log. But when you run a hugh transaction like a client copy, the log might grow as well. The log will be freed once the transaction commits or rolls back. And no, you can't split a client copy in several transactions.
