How do I turn *OFF* Universal volume control?

I used to have an Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro with Li've Dri've front panel. I could set my Master volume at 00% then adjust volume on any program independently. Be it recording software, Winamp, Games, VOIP phone, MSN video/voice.. etc etc.. If I wanted to set everything to 00% volume and still set my headphone volume down to say 50%, I could..
I now have an PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion Series. Now what happens is All of my programs are linked together, as well as my headphone volume. If I set my Master volume at 00%, Everything on my computer is set to 00% volume as well... I then have to go through and lower the volume on all the programs (If I can), which makes other programs volumes too low.. Seeing as they're all linked together. To turn down my headphones volume, it also lowers the master volume. Setting things up over and over is a huge pain, even more so when you can't tweak it just right.. and if you move something else, or start up another program, it sets the master volume back to 00%. I'm getting sick of it..
My question is this. How in gods name do I remove the linking so that I can do what I used to do on my old SB Audigy? Have everything independent of each other, as well as being able to set my master volume to 00% and still adjust my headphone volume..
My Hardware:
Asus P5E Delxue
E8600
2x ATI 4870s
4g Dominator
Logitech Wave Keyboard (Could this be causing problems? It didn't on my old card).
XP Pro, all latest drivers for all hardware (Checked today)..
Thanks,
Trag

    Hello:
Simply hit the mute key on your keyboard (found over the F10 key).

  • How can I turn off the volume limitor on my ipod nano?  I want to play it with a docking station, it is no where near as loud as an old 4GB ipod!

Hello, please can you tell me how to turn off the volume limiotr on my ipod nano?  I want to play it on a docking station and it just isn't as loud as I want it to be.  An old ipod is much louder.

I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection.  All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again.  The big arrowhead just get's in the way.  The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down.  If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.
Is there any chance this option could be inlcuded in cursor preferences?  I'd give much thanks, Adobe.

  • How do i turn off the headphone controls on my iphone?

My headphones appear to be broken, or at least on the way to being broken. When I'm listening to music on my iphone with them they keep pausing or skipping the song. It's really annoying is there a way of turning off the controls on my headphones so they don't interfere with my music?
    Thanks

Go to Settings > General > Accessiblity and set the VoiceOver option to "off."

  • How do I turn off F key control?

I have turned off all F-key options in Keyboard & Mouse preferences and Expose, but when I hit F keys in open applications, they do something other than what the application calls for. Specifically, when I hit F1, it hides open application, as if I had hit command-H. Any help appreciated

  • How do I turn off the volume clicks in Mavericks?

Or at least turn them down?  They are way too loud when using Ableton.  I found ways to do it for previous versions of osx, but I can't find anything for Mavericks.

There are two things to try.
    (1) Press shift key when adjusting volume.
    (2) In System Preferences, Sound, Sound Effects, uncheck the checkbox "Play feedback..."

  • How can I turn off Universal Access?

If my mouse cursor moves across the screen (without me moving it) to the dialog box one more time, I'm going to scream.
Every time I uncheck "Enable Access for Assistive Devices" in the Universal Access Preference Pane, it becomes checked again after logging out or restarting.

    Hello,
Try this: Locate this file: com.apple.universalaccess.plist
    It's here: MacintoshHD/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences
Open the Preferences folder. Locate that file and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash and reboot. Your MBP will create a new preference file for you.
Sometimes preference files can become corrupted... hopefully this will take care of it.
Post back if you need more help,
    Carolyn

    Thank you Jaba,
it is Toshiba Satellite A200 Series. Drivers, its configuration and configuration of operating system is OK. The wheel is mechanical damaged, so that is the point. I have to disable its function in operating system. But where can I disable it? I have tried to uninstall Toshiba utilities (controls, hotkeys), reinstall drivers. I have tried to find an option in BIOS, there was no one.
btw: I am a linux administrator, but I have advanced knowledge of windows systems so you can be short.

How do I turn off my apple tv?

Well, now I've tried the method of holding the "select" button down for five seconds or longer, and it doesn't turn the machine off (or standby).
This is not a big deal, more a matter of curiosity and maybe I want to be like the big boys who sell universal remotes and program something to control it myself someday (yeah, whatever).

  • How do I turn off the requirement to enter my password everytime I want to delete a file in Finder?

How do I turn off the requirement to enter my password everytime I delete a file in finder?

Please take these steps if you're prompted for a password when moving items in your home folder to the Trash.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/.Trash
    2. Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Show Info in Finder (or just Show Info)
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
    3. The dialog should show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section. If that's not what it shows, click the padlock icon in the lower right corner of the window and enter your password when prompted. Use the plus- and minus-sign buttons to give yourself Read & Write access and "everyone" No Access. Delete any other entries in the access list.
    4. In the General section, uncheck the box marked Locked if it's checked.
    5. From the action menu (gear icon) at the bottom of the dialog, select Apply to enclosed items and confirm.
    6. Close the Info window and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

  • How do I turn off Facebook text messages?

    Hello,
I really don't know where to ask this question, so I hope I'm posting it in the right location. I transitioned from the iPhone 3GS to the new iPhone 4S. On my older iPhone, I NEVER received text messages from Facebook (which is a good thing). However, now that I am using the 4S, I am constantly getting bombarded with text messages from Facebook. They are "notifications", ie, when someone posts to my wall or if someone responds to a comment that I made.
I don't know if this is something that is controlled from the Facebook web page (using Safari on my iMac), or if it is controlled from the Facebook app on my iPhone, or if it is controlled from "Settings" or "Notifications" on the iPhone. I have tried all of these places and turned everything off. All notifications for Facebook are in the "OFF" position. I am at my wit's end because this stupid thing is waking me up in the middle of the night with Facebook text messages.
If anyone can help me in finding out how to turn this feature off, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!

Okay, it has been a few hours and I have not had a single text message from Facebook. WHEW!!
It had to be your suggestion that fixed it. I don't know how I missed turning off that one notification, but I guess that's what did the trick. They have made this notification stuff a bit confusing, becasue there are multiple areas where you can go in and turn stuff on and offf, and you really can't tell what it is you're doing until it's too late.
Thanks again for your help. I will mark this question as "Answered".
