How do I turn on bluetooth? - windows 8

Hey all,
I've been googling for a while now, and still haven't found anything relevant to me. I have a mid-2012 macbook pro running windows 8 through bootcamp and I've been trying to pair a bluetooth mouse. Bluetooth drivers seem to be installed (Apple Broadcom Built-In Bluetooth - v 5.0.1.0), but I cannot turn on bluetooth anywhere. The switch to turn on bluetooth under wireless devices (charms bar > settings > change pc settings > wireless) isn't there. What can I do?

on my imac I can't recall the group (the ones you click on it the left list) but in one of them it have the blue circle with the bluetooth icon on it of cause one have to install the drivers for bluetooth to work

Hey everybody,
I'm running Windows XP SP3 via Boot Camp and I was wondering if anyone can assist me in how to completely turn off Bluetooth and Wireless connectivity so that I can reserve as much batter life while being in class taking notes without a plug-in source, but not uninstall. I know there is a Bluetooth control panel and I disabled it there but under "connect to" its still remains there. Basically I want to have the Bluetooth and Wireless turned off completely when I startup and still have the icons shown in the taskbar to let me know that they are still there.

Joergen Thomson, I can see that you have the same thoughts like I do, I wish they could release a software that is stable and better then this.
I dont have the energi or time to report all flaus back to cisco, this product have taking to much of my time and frustration already. Thank you so much for all the time you spend to try get this product stable and hopefully a good product.
I have a costumer that have a webservice that is IP restricted, For now I have to define more then 93 policys openening for the same service because this doesnt handle address list and groups. And all the times I had to set it back to factory default becasue of HTTP Admin server stopped, VPN Problem, Firmware Upgrades, "Packet Loss" and so on takes alot of time becasue I need to reconfig policies back.
For now to they release a firmware is stable I have take this piece off the network and put the back a old Fortinet 60 box.

When we open the mail on our ipad, there is a inbox window shows up at the left on top of a mail.

PS: My boss told me that she saw someone has the full screen inbox on his/her ipad and she want me to do the same for her,

As far I'm aware, what you're asking to do is not a native feature of iPad. In other words, I don't believe this can be done.

How do I turn off the window maximizing feature when I click the top window frame?

Clicking on the top window frame causes Firefox to maximize. This is the only program I have that does this, so I am constantly doing this accidentally. It causes me no end of annoyance, having to minimize the Firefox window every time to see the other window I am using at the same time. Is there a way of turning this "feature" off? I have looked through all controls tabs I can find, and the help files on the Firefox website, and can find no answers to this.

Another app (Word) just started doing the same thing (previously only observed with Firefox). If the app is too close to the top of screen, and you select it, and slightly move it, it maximizes. I heard this is standard in Windows 7, but I am using XP. This is becoming typical of the annoying hubris of Microsoft that will likely make my next OS Linux. I am not blind, and in need of Microsoft making a single window maximally readable, especially at the expense of all the other windows. If I wanted my computer to make all of my decisions for me, I would have stuck with Apple!

How do you turn off a Windows 8 computer?

I set up my new computer afew days ago, and when I went to turn it off, there was no place to do it. I was about to give up and just hit the power button when I found something that said I should just hit the power button. I did, and it turned off, sort of. If I just push the button quickly, it reboots itself. If I hold it a little longer, it turns off. The screen goes dark, says "no signal" and it seems to be off, except that every few seconds the power button flashes. Sometimes when I come back the next morning, it is on and sometimes it is off.
I don't trust it, so I disconnect it from the internet, physically. It's probably not a good idea to leave unsupervised computers connected to the internet. No telling what they will do.
Is it off even when it is flashing? Is there a certain way you should hold your mouth when pushing the off button?
Windows 8 doesn't seem to be as bad as some people say, it's just that so many things are different from XP, but once you learn them it's ok. Of course, I don't do anything fancy, so once I can get my browser up, find my files and find my programs, (which are apparently called apps now) I'm fine.

I recently reformatted and installed Vista ultimate x64 on my X61 Tablet (7764 CTO). I'm having a number of issues, but the one I'd like to get help with here is that access connections will not function properly on my computer (it will open, but not even show my bluetooth radio), so I've decided to do without it. Now my question is, how do I turn on bluetooth?
Alternately, why isn't bluetooth showing up in access connections?

How do I turn on visibility on my Tecra A4 with Toshiba bluetooth stakc V4?

I have a Tecra A4 with the latest version of the toshiba bluetooth stack (v4). How do I turn on the bluetooth visibility of my laptop? I need to do it so I can use my Sony Ericsson K750i as a remote control for windows media player. I was able to do it with the MS stack, by going to bluetooth settings, but can't find it in the toshiba bluetooth stack. Any suggestions?

If you want to use BT on your unit you must switch the WLAN switch to ON. When the control led is on use FN+F8 key combination to enable BT. After that BT module is enabled properly. All BT hardware components will also be listed in device manager.
After that you must establish connection between notebook and your mobile phone. To start this please check Toshiba assist and under Connect tab you will find shortcut to BT Settings that allows you to establish quick and easy connection to your external BT device.
When BT settings starts click on new connection and follow the connection wizard. How to use phone as remote control is not known to me.
I have used BT with my mobile phone many times as modem and data transfer. Usage of small BT headset is also easy to configure.

i got a phone call from a unknown source today at around 3 pm they said that hackers where trying to access my computer . they ran a scan and it showed thre things one was my network access protection was turned off . 2 hackers were trying to hack into my computer i cant remember the 3rd one its in my note pad but then i got this big run around and i told them from the start that i had no money and that i had just buried my mom on the 2nd of this month after a long battle and that i had just had a bad episode with my blood pressure wasnt feeling god and so on ,all of which are true once i finally convinced the worker of the fact i had no money he put his super visor on the line .the supervisor was stalling i could tell im no dummy when it comes to software and computers i taught myself xp professional and the windows 8.1 which im still learning i finally got tired of his super visor retstartd my computer and got control uninstalled skype mozilla nightly and mozilla experimental and several other prorams with my revo pro uninstaller my computer is rinning smooth now but i have seen .that ny network access protection is turned off ,how do i turn this on and is it neccasary i have malware bytes new 2.7. something full time bought and paid for protection and windows defender .i run a discclean every day and my mal;ware bytes and windows defender any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated i do have HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT AND MY WARRANTY IS UP TO DATE AND PAID FOR .. sincerely donald hutchison

Now the trouble may start, you did allow people to logon to your computer and you believe them ! HP Support Assisstant is there to support your technical problems it does not know you will open the door of your house for someone to comes in to steal your money.
Now, please change all your passwords to logon to email, bank account(s) ..... before too late. Also please download the following tool nd run on your computer, hope it can remove the nasty bits.

The Bluetooth setup assistant should "find" a device in range when that device is turned on. What are you trying to add?
