How do I turn on bounding box?

How do I turn back on selection bounding box?

You can have a box when using the Move tool by enabling the "Show Transform Controls" option in the options bar at the top (while the tool is selected).
You can add a box to a selection by enabling the transform controls (Control/Command+T or from the Edit menu).
But if you are just looking for a box to surround a selection that offers no controls, this isn't a feature.

    how do I turn off text box in pages?

    Thank you Peter and Jerry.
    Screen shot above. I know it's not much, but there it is.
    In actual fact I can make the text box bigger, but I just want to have the option of not having a text box.
    It should be simple, and not actually need a screen shot: just simple instructions. It seems pretty fundamental to me.  Does anyone know how to do this?

  • [CS5] Turn off bounding box?

    When I select multiple items InDesing creates this so called handy bounding box around them.
    Does anyone know how to turn this off?
    This bounding box wouldn't be so bad if I could still resize the seperate items within the selection by grabbing one of the handles of an object. Like it was possible in CS4!
    Why did this change anyway? Did Adobe got many complaints that InDesign was working too well and that it should be made more difficult for its users?

    The frame edge drives me crazy. It is one of my three biggest complaints wit InDesign CS5.
    My list:
    Background Tasks - I want the 1% of the time and could live without it then, preferring the straight out dialog.
    Network losses - CS5 is far too sensitive about seeing a dropped network connection when it isn't dropped
    Frame Edges - At minimum I don't want them when I'm hiding frame edges.

    Is this where it is displaying the status messages? If it is, the easiest way to change the behavior is to use the Status-4-Evar add-on. With it you can choose to not display any of the status messages, or display them in the add-ons bar or location bar instead.

  • How to get shape's bounding box

    Hi!
    Like the topic says, I'm wondering if there is a way to get a shape's bounding box? Either through a query or some method in JGeometry. I suppose I could just get the coordinates and loop over them to get the min/max values, but is there some more efficient way?
    Thanks!

    Yup. That worked.
    I looked at the JGeometry documentation, but I would never have guessed that MBR stood for Minimum Bounding Rectangle if you hadn't pointed me in the right direction.
    Thanks again!

  • CS6 - Pattern making. How can I use a bounding box to define the pattern size?

    I want to create a pattern in cs6. As in the previous versions of illustrator, I'd like to be able to use a bounding box to tell the computer where I want the pattern to start etc. In cs6 I can't seem to be able to do this. Once I hit 'make pattern' the bounding box is different and it becomes really difficult to define where I want the pattern to start. The pattern making part of illustrator seems to get confused and ends up throwing out my pattern completely. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Zehgut,
    Create a nofill/nostroke rectangle where you want to have the boundaries, then move it down beneath the artwork in the Layers palette and include it in the swatch. That is the way to define the boudaries.

  • How to change size of text bounding box in FW CS5?

    I can't find anywhere how to make the text bounding box the same size as the text within it.  Something got switched in my FW so that now every new text box is about 3x or more higher than the text typed inside.  How to change this?

    Moving the text box is the only thing a user can do with it.  The size can't be changed.  You can create a custom page with the same background and add any sized text area you'd like.  This tutorial describes how: 19 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book.

  • Bounding box around rollover images

    Can anyone tell me how to remove a visible bounding box on
    rollover images. The bounding box does not appear until you click
    on the rollover image. This does not show up in Safari but does
    show in IE and Firefox. Any help is appreciated.

    No, I have no idea. But I realize, I may have given you a bum
    steer. What
    I was describing was the a:focus functionality which happens
    BEFORE you
    click. What you are asking about is something that you see
    AFTER clicking,
    right? In that case, try the CSS rule -
    a img { outline:none; }
    and see if that works.

  • Why did bounding boxes go away in the latest version of illustrator?

    I just installed the latest version of AI after my machine died and for some reason I no longer have a bounding box when selecting a single shape with the selection tool. When selecting multiple shapes I do get a bounding box but not for single objects. Can anyone help me turn the bounding box feature back on or possibly revert to an older version? PLEASE HELP!!!!

    yuchangeai,
    I am afraid you have come across the Live Rectangle bug which is limited to the MAC versions starting with 10.7 and 10.8, but not 10.9 (Mavericks).
    So a switch to Mavericks with a reinstallation might be the way to solve it here and now.
    To get round it in each case, it is possible to Expand the Live Rectangles to get normal old fashioned rectangles, or to Pathfinder>Unite, or to use the Scale Tool.
    A more permanent way round that is to create normal old fashioned rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

  • Bounding Box Rotation Using AffineTransform

    Hi everyone,
    I'm making a 2D overhead view tank game (lots of those around, hey?). The problem I have is with collision detection using bounding boxes.
    I use the AffineTransform that I rotate the sprite image with to rotate that sprite's bounding box. The problem is that the bounding box doesn't anchor itself to the sprite. Instead, when the tank rotates, the bounding box leaves the sprite and moves alongside it. As you can imagine, this doesn't lead to good collision detection.
    How can I anchor the bounding box to its sprite so that whatever rotation or movement the sprite does, the bounding box stays on the sprite and moves with it?
    The code fragment that deals with rotating the bounding box and drawing it is below.
    tankShape = new Rectangle2D.Double(enemy.getX(), enemy.getY(), enemy.getWidth(), enemy.getHeight());
    at = AffineTransform.getRotateInstance((Math.toRadians(enemy.getAngle())+Math.PI/2),
    (enemy.getX()+11), (enemy.getY()-24));  //+11 and -24 are to anchor the bounding box at the centre of the sprite
    tankShape = at.createTransformedShape(tankShape);
    g.draw(tankShape);Thanks,
    Has

    Note to myself, this is how it's done:
    public void paintHitBoxes(Graphics2D g)
         double x = player.getX();
         double y = player.getY();
         x += Math.cos(Math.toRadians(player.getAngle()));
         y += Math.sin(Math.toRadians(player.getAngle()));
         Rectangle2D.Double tankShape = new Rectangle2D.Double(x, y, player.getWidth(), player.getHeight());
         g.setPaint(Color.red);
         imageLocation =
              AffineTransform.getRotateInstance(Math.toRadians(player.getAngle())+Math.PI/2, x+(player.getWidth()/2), y+(player.getHeight()/2)); //7, 14
    g.draw(imageLocation.createTransformedShape(tankShape));
    }

  • Bounding box adjustment

    I have a black and white logo that is 5 sided and shaped like a diamond with a flat top, angled sides converging to a point at the bottom. When I print over a coloured background, the logo appears inside a white rectangle. How do I adjust the bounding box to fit the shape of the logo please?

    Hello! you did not state on what program you try to assemble it to print it over a colored background.
    I would

  • Rotation of bounding box ?

    I know I can get the transformation info on a sprite to work out the position of a bounding box used for collision detection, but if the image is being rotated, how can I rotate the bounding box for a more accurate collision test.
    the image is rectangular so a square(ish) bounding box won't do.

    1. Are we operating under the same definition of
    "bounding box?" My experience has always been that a
    bounding box is the region in which a sprite is
    counted as existing for the purpose of collision
    detection. I didn't see any collision detection in
    that code.
    2. If we -are- talking about collision detection, I
    will now (after review) agree with you that the
    Polygon object doesn't have all of the functionality
    needed. However, an object which represents a
    bounding polygon could be used quite nicely in this
    situation, as it could be freely rotated internally
    and fixed to a given point on the sprite.yes, bounding polgons are sometimes used - but the point of bounding rectangles, or bounding circles, is that they are cheap in terms of computation.
    calculating in the intersection of 2 polygons is not simple, and not cheap.
    Additionally, the most significant content of my post
    was the corner detection; no two bounding polygons,
    regardless of their orientation, can be intersecting
    if none of the corners for either polygon is
    contained within the other.yes they can, very easily infact.
    not sure how good this is going to look /me tries some ascii art ;]

  • PLEASE HELP! ASAP! Where's my bounding box? I bet no one knows how to fix this?

    I'm currently trying to make a quick promo for my business, so i've purchased a template from envato.
    I've then started to replace what they say i should replace.
    I've then imported an image to replace the default one that you can see in the first attached image below.
    The imported photo which is not seen needs to be resized by using the bounding box to suit my area given.
    But everytime i double click the image, all i get is a picture with a time ruler at the base of it and no bounding box.
    Can anyone help me please??????????????

    Really?  Go to the menu and select View>Show/Hide Layer Controls or press Ctrl/Cmnd + Shift + H
    If you save a project with them turned off then when you re-open the project they will still be turned off.
    The info is right there in the menu and in the help files and in the keyboard shortcuts. If you search here:
    you'll find this. AE is such a complex program with so many layers that it's imperative that you learn how to look for and find answers quickly. The Search Help field at the top right corner of the app will answer about half the questions posted on this forum.
