I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.
2. the back and forward buttons were not highlighted, as if I had not come from a previous page; so once I clicked on a link to a new page I could not go back to where I came from because Fiefox thought I hadn't come from anywhere.
3. there may have been other errors, but I did not find them.
How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?
Even to write this message I have been forced to use (yuk -- I don't like to say this!!!) Internet Explorer. So please -- I need help urgently.

NOELSome how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I hope that solves your problem too.

Since installing the latest Firefox, I am unable to shut down my computer.
On March 19 I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. Yes, it works much more quickly, thank you, but now I am unable to shut down. The start button leads to the three choices of stand-by, shut down, or restart. But the shut-down does not take place. In desperation I tried Ctrl/Alt/Delete, without success. Please advise.
Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

Since installing the latest update firefox stops responding and hangs during use.
The only way I can get it to work is to shut it down and restart the application. I can open IE and access the sites which don't respond so it is definately a firefox problem. All firefox tabs stop responding including downloads. This is occurring every 2nd or 3rd page I open. Help - it's driving me insane!

Since installing the latest Itunes my phone does not auto sync as before, how can I set this up?
Since i updated to the newest ITunes my phone does not automatically sync as it did before. I am not able to locate my pictures or music or apps to set to auto sync. I receive no message that tells when the phone was last backed up to ICloud. I have several songs on ITunes under ICloud that are in the waiting status. This is all confusing. I have clicked on every available option.

I have a brand new HP dv8t laptop that is straight from the manufacturer 2 days ago.
Last night, I attempted to download and installed the latest version of Firefox. After installing, it worked great for an hour or so (3.4 different sessions).
Then, this morning when I came back to the computer, Firefox crashes at startup and gives me the option of finding a solution online or quitting the program.
How aggravating!
I have installed this same version on 2 other computers that I own, without any issue.
I have attempted to uninstall Firefox from the dv8 and reinstalling, to no avail.

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side. -

"Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP" 'cos Thunderbird uses only the regular email protocols: POP, IMAP and SMTP.
Here (at work) we have in the past have had IMAP and SMTP enabled on our Exchange server so Thunderbird could then connect just like to any other regular internet-based service.
With the change here to outlook365/outlook 2010 I've had to switch to using DavMail which lets Thunderbird talk to the mail server using OWA.
I haven't (seriously) tried Exquilla. Whilst I have great respect for its author and some of his other add-ons, I saw no reason to use an add-on that required payment when DavMail works for free. -

If you want to boot from your SSD, then you should put the SSD where your HDD currently is, and put the HDD into the optical bay. (That setup will also get you the best performance.) At the moment, you’re still booting from your HDD. Note that you will need to format your SSD in Disk Utility [with the “Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)” format] so that you can install OS X onto it.
Since you have an Early 2011 model, it might or might not have originally come with grey installation DVDs. You will be able to find out whether it did or not by trying to use OS X Internet Recovery to install OS X onto your SSD. If it does not work, or if the installed OS turns out to be Snow Leopard, then it will have originally come with the DVDs, and you should purchase a replacement pair of DVDs from Apple or iFixit; those discs will have your MacBook Pro’s Apple Hardware Test and its iLife apps. I've "successfully" installed the latest version of Flash Player, as recommended by Firefox. How do I find where it "lives" so that I'm certain it's in there. Also, do I put the App icon that appears on my desktop, in the trash now? I am on a Mac and I am not technically inclined.

I am using Firefox 3.6.8. Oddly, my problem appeared a few hours PRIOR to Firefox automatically installing the latest updates (the week ending 7/23), not afterwards. The problem is this: the browser continues to display tabs, the reload/home/history/favorites icons, URL field and Google search field while in full-screen mode, so it's not really full-screen anymore. In properties it says they are not valid shortcuts; when I try to delete it says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" what to do.... Is it possible to go back to a previous version? I was so happy with the previous version - I only installed the latest version because I was in Dreamweaver (the first time literally in years) and I wanted to view an .htm file in firefox, and when I selected that option, firefox automatically did a bunch of stuff I don't understand, but it seemed to me that what happened automatically was that a beta version of Firefox was installed, and I was prompted to select Firefox as the default browser (it has been my default browser forever, not sure how it was all of a sudden not my default browser)... anyway I thought that I could rid myself of the beta version and return to normalacy if I installed the latest version. Now I have these three invalid icons to deal with. Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated. It would make me very happy if I could delete the invalid icons from my desktop, or at least hide them from view somehow. I created a folder on the desktop, and tried to put them into it, but that didn't work.
