I have turned off the power for card in menu on the top of the screen and now no icon appears on top of screen after onserting card and card does not work. With other same powerbook it works well. How I do turn it on back thanks

Try this method.
Navigate to the Menu Extras folder inside CoreServices:
Macintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras
You should see an item PCCard.menu - double click on it and the icon should be in the menu bar.

Have your husband text the word "stop" to 48369. This should take his number out of the iMessage system.
Go into your settings under messaging and make sure the box to send as an SMS if iMessage is unavailable is checked.
Hopefully this will get your messages sending/receiving to each other. -

Hey--- I like auto-checking for updates, and hey--- I like auto-downloading them in the background.
BUT I do not like being notified of updates in the middle of working! Especially when it's iTunes updates. Grrrr.
Any chance this is easy and I just missed it?

What you are saying is true but it will not always work. The aap store is dead. Wen I go to the fret urged page I see a white screen. I should be able to scroll down to the bottom and select View Apple ID but can't. This is on my wife's iPad and she thought after she upgraded to iOS 6.0 when it prompted her to turn on Genius that's what caused the trouble and she wanted to turn off Genius. NO CAN DO in App Store.
To turn off Genius I had to go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID xxxxx then click view Apple ID then I can turn Genius off and on.
But the did not fix the problem with the App Store which is still dead. -

then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

If not then you will need to create a new account, and use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. my iPhone 4 is no longer chargeable. Whenever I connect it to the charge, the charging icon appears on screen but even if I leave it for a night on charge the charge icon will remain on the screen but there will be zero percent of battery. My wife received a new iPad Mini for Christmas-- when connected to iMac, icon appears in iPhoto sidebar; however, there appears to be no option to "unmount." Also, unlike my iPhone 4S whose icon appears in iTunes sidebar, the Mini does not. Any insights?
