Where do I find an excellent and reliable Vietnamese keyboard for new iPad? A keyboard that displays all the characters and the accent marks so typing can be easily accomplished. The iPad keyboard selection for Vietnamese really only seems to change the Return key to the Vietnamese language. iPad is sold all over the world....my interest is Viet Nam.....the full keyboard.
Thanks.....my Vietnamese expert spouse says this tip will work just fine. I was not aware of the hold down function. Slow typing but accomplishes the objective native on the iPad.
You are correct.....most Apps that I find seem to be based only on a copy/paste method of input.
You solved the problem. -

How to import a csv with French accents in it ?
Hello to all,
It's been a while that everytime I import a participant csv in Adobe Connect, if I have French accents (example : é, è, ô...), the name imported with the accents comes out with white on black questions marks at the place of the original accentuated letter.
I have tried different methods to conturn this : using Notepad++ with UTF8 with or without BOM, OEM863 (French)... Nothing seems to do the trick.
Would anyone know how to do this in a import without having to go all through the procedure of either creating my participants manually or changing manually the names after the import, please ?
Thank you very much for your help !
AbigailI am working on this same issue and doing some small tests. I have saves my file as Unicode text (txt) and that seems to solve the issue with accents not saving. I will need to try larger files.

How to use %Type declaration with table residing in a different database
How can I use the %TYPE declaration if the table is from a different database.
E.g
v_business_unit ps_jrnl.header.business_unit%TYPE;
In the above declaration statement,the table 'ps_jrnl_header' resides in a different database(Database A) from the one I am currently in( Database B).(This is because data needs to be extracted from Database A into Database B).1. Create a database link to the other database (this probably already exists since your proc is interacting with that database)
2. Create a synonym for the table in the other database
create synonym foo for ps_jrnl.header@database_a;3. Reference the synonym in your variable declaration:
v_business_unit foo.business_unit%TYPE; -
How to make type flow with the shape of an object?
Hi there,
I am a bit of an Illustrator newbie. I am needing some help to work out how to wrap or manipulate type to fit the shape and flow of an object? I have attached an image to show you what I am trying to do. I want the "shop by measure" text to be in the yellow blank space of the tape measure but flowing with the shape of the tape. Any help appreciated! Be gentle please lol.See online help. Read about Envelope Distortion. Then keep things simple as you experiment. This takes about 2 minutes.
When doing "ribbon distortions," selecting corresponding top and bottom MeshPoints as pairs and moving/scaling/rotating them together helps avoid things getting all distorted out of control. See this PDF for an example. The example was done using a 1 Row, 2 Column Mesh.

How to use Unicode characters with TestStand?
I'm trying to implement the use of Greek characters such as mu and omega for units. I enabled multi-byte support in the station options and attempted to paste some characters in. I was able to paste the mu character (μ) and import it from Excel with PropertyLoader. However, I have not had any luck with omega (Ω). I found the HTML codes for these characters on a web page (http://www.hclrss.demon.co.uk/unicode/) so I could use those codes for HTML reports, but that won't work for database logging, nor does it display the characters correctly for the operator interface. The operator interface is not a major problem, but the database must have the correct characters for customer reports. Anyone know how to do this? D
oes database logging support Unicode for stored procedure calls to Oracle?Hello Mark -
At this time TestStand has no unicode support. The multi-byte support that we do offer is based on the Windows architecture that handles Asian language fonts. It really isn't meant to provide a bridge for unicode values in TestStand. Certainly, your Operator Interface environment will have its own support level for unicode, i.e. at this time neither LabWindows/CVI version 6.0 nor LabVIEW 6.1 officially support unicode characters. This is why you will see that the units defined in the TestStand enumerators are all text-based values.
I have run a quick test here, probably similar to what you were doing on your end, and I am uncertain if you will get the database behavior you want from TestStand. The database logging steps and API all use basic char sty
le strings to communicate to the driver. Even though you are reading in a good value from Excel, TestStand is interpreting the character as the nearest ASCII equivalent, i.e. "Ω" will be stored and sent to the database as "O". If you have a stored proceedure in Oracle that is calling on some TestStand variable or property string as an input, then it is doubtful you will get correct transmission of the values to the database. If your stored proceedure could call into a spreadsheet directly, you would probably have better luck.

How to replace special characters with html code characters automatically?
A colleague and I work on these html pages. They eventually end up as emails, but we have the cold fusion server to pre process them. One thing we are trying to do is eliminate problems caused by unencoded copyright, trademark and smart quote symbols.
How could I create an array of find / replace commands in the header so it processes the HTML with correct character codes.
I"m not cold fusion aware, so any kind of starter info would be great. Eventually I might add more replacements to the array.
As an example TM (font character) would process to ™ and a smart quote or apostrophe would process to a straight one. an en dash character would become –
Because we copy paste from places, this often happens and it seems like cold fusion could solve the problem quickly and repeatedly all at once.
thanks for any help
-smickCF has a built in HTMLEditFormat function for handling < & > characters. For handling trademark and smart quote characters you might try searching for a user defined function at http://cflib.org or writing a user defined function yourself that will handle the specific characters needed in your application.

Here's an example. The Irish word "Lúnasa" is showing up as "Lnasa" when I post it in places such as Yahoo! Groups. This does not happen with my old IE browser. Thanks for any help!
No, the first "Lúnasa" looks correct. The second one is how it appears after posting it to a Yahoo! Group. It's odd, because when I view the same post in the Yahoo! Group via IE8, it looks fine. Just to fill out the details, I wrote the original "Lúnasa" in MS Word, then copied and pasted it into my Yahoo post. Needless to say, I am confused!
Thanks again for you help! -
How to read chinese characters with Nano
I transfered some chinese songs to my Nano using iTunes.
But now i can't read the characters...Please always tell people what OS you are using.
Most likely the ID3 tags for the songs are not encoded correctly for the iPod. See this note for some info:

Howing greek characters with accents
Hello everybody,
I've an applet developed using swing where I've to show some greek text. The problem is that I can see the standard greek characters but I cannot see those characters with accents or spirits.
The document that contains the text is a DefaultStyledDocument and, right now, I've configured it in this way:
Style normal_style = this.addStyle("normal", null);
StyleConstants.setFontFamily(normal_style, "lucida");
this.setParagraphAttributes(0, 0, normal_style, false);
I've used the lucida family since I've read that family is able to render the greek but any character with an accent is rendered with a small rectangle.
I upload the text from a text file encoded using utf8. The example text is the following:
Also, when I save this text using my application my new saved file still contains the correct characters with the accent and all the stuff.
The problems seems to be just the rendering in the application...

I can't type text with special Spanish characters (Captivate 6)
Hi there,
I've just downloaded Adobe Captivate 6 to try it out and found that I can't type some special characters widely used in Spanish language: our accents or tildes (that's the Spanish word for them). That's what I can't type:
Á or á
É or é
Í or í
Ó or ó
Ú or ú
I've checked the fonts on my font manager, but that's not the problem. They're fine.
I've also tried to paste some text with these characters from Firefox and it worked fine. You can see it on the image:
So I guess it must be some annoying bug.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
IñakiHi Lilybri,
I still have this problem with the accents in AC and I've just found that problem comes from the double-type characters (like the accents in Spanish).
http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/kb/double-byte-characters-cannot-input.html
BTW, I got no answer from Adobe and i'ts been more than 2 months since I registered the bug...
Best regards! -
