How do I UN default my firefox?

firefox "was" slow. I went to default. Thinking default meant "system default" ; NOT, remove all my personal files.
I expect Firefox to answer this question not a consumer.
How do I get all my files, bookmarks, toolbar, and picaso pictures, BACK ON MY PC ?????????

If you choose to remove your personal data when uninstalling then all profile folders will be removed and your only option would be to use an undelete utility like Recuva.

Then right click bring up this menu while inside active field and click on item with arrrow:

Now what ever you typed should reflect the new Font setting.

We do our best. And if we fall short, well we gave it our best shot.
Okay. In the interests of being completely clear:
I have already tried this. Several times. This procedure will change the default for any of the fields that I place by hand. It does not change the default for any of the fields placed by the Wizard. I was unable to find a solution to the problem in any of the manuals, books, or on-line forums, which is why I posted here as a last resort. This leads to two conclusions:
    A. Your advice is incorrect
    B. There is a problem with my installation of Acrobat
I will assume that A is not the correct conclusion. I will therefore try a re-install of my software to see if this clears up the problem. There have been other issues with other Adobe software on my machine that a re-installed has fixed nicely. Luckily, I don't have to do this at all often.

I'm not sure if this is possible because it looks like the XML refers to compiled Java classes. Correct. A similar request has been discussed before:

  • How to set a default firefox homepage on client workstations on a network with a server running windows 2003 server?

I am running a small client server network with about 27 client machines and windows server 2003 is the server OS. I want the default webpage on firefox to display our department homepage when users log on. I have set IE7 already in the groups policy in the ISS section but this only affects IE7. Any idea how I can do this with Firefox?

You can set or lock default prefs via a mozilla.cfg file.
    Pref: browser.startup.homepage , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.startup.homepage
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • How do I set the default in Firefox to NOT auto update?

I am being asked to create an installer for Firefox that sets the default to NOT auto update. We have Standard users who cannot load software, so do not want them to be prompted. WE want to control when programs get updated, so need to set the default in Firefox to not prompt to update anything. How do I do this? What file can I change?

I've tried that, and then created my installer, but it defaults back to having auto update checked, or in the ON position. I want it to default to being OFF so any new installs or upgrades that I send out do not turn it back on.
We manage all computers here, and do not want users doing any updates.

  • How to change the default search engine? I accidentaly change it from google to yahoo, and I can't get it back. I changed my homepage too, but it isn't solved. Thanks

    dear, there.
how to change the default search engine? I accidentaly change it from google to yahoo, and I can't get it back. I changed my homepage to google too, but it isn't solved. Thanks

    Clarification:
I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

  • How to change the default language?

How to change the default language of the Ubuntu desktop and of the Firefox program to Norwegian or Danish?

While this isn't the appropriate venue to ask about changing the default language in Ubuntu, the snide forum link above lazily fails to address the Firefox language issue, and unfortunately this link now comes up on the first page of google searches about the default language in firefox.
To change Firefox's default language, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Content, and click the "Choose" button under the Languages heading.
To change the default language of your spell checker, right click on any text area and find the "Languages" entry in the menu, then select the language of your choice.

  • How do I get my old Firefox back

How can I get my old Firefox back for my Windows 7. I'm not sure what version of Firefox I had before I downloaded this new one. With this new Firefox it comes with a Yahoo search bar which I cannot stand and a lot of other buttons I don't want. With my old version I had everything the way I wanted it but now it is all gone. Please help and show me the path way back to my old Firefox.
    Thank you, Mike

The Yahoo toolbar may have been added by an extension or other (security) software on your computer.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hello Donna, sorry you are having troubles. I wanted to check that you have Firefox set as your default browser on Windows? We have an article here which walks through how to do this:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+make+Firefox+the+default+browser
If you do have Firefox set as the default, it might be a registry issue which would need to be configured.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind wishes

  • How delete the Google integration in Firefox (about:config)

If I type in about:config the name Google a lot of lines are showing. Firefox has a agreement with Google. I like Firefox (from the beginning, Phoenix), but without Google.
The Google organisation is lying ('privacy police') for years and spying (cooperation with US-intelligences, 'Patriot Act'), not to forget the tracking on the internet. Because all this there also is a worldwide block started against the Googles behaviour and I even don't like them.
So as Firefox-user I have a free choice to choose which company I trust myself. There must be a way that there is no integration of advertising companies in the open source software of Mozilla Firefox. Maybe more FF-users have the same opinion, but maybe they fell asleep in the life they live, because I don't hear them. I'm bedridden (2006), disabled and have less energy to react at the world outside my bed; sometimes itÅ› going.... :-).
In my opinion belong some add-ons with Google integration on the blacklist of add-ons, because these developers have to ask theirselfs the question "Why do I use a company as Google in 'open source' software what I made myself for the Mozilla Firefox organisation "?
So my question is: How get I Google from the Firefox software, out of the 'about:config.
I've tried it myself together with an add-on with Google integration, but Firefox got a crash. On places where Google was written I choose for DuckDuckGo and where the https number was written I choose for 0 or Zero. With zero Firefox can't live so who can help to clean the whole 'about:config' from the name Google. Yahoo and DuckDuckGo is okay from me.
Sorry for my bad Englisch language, it's not my language of birth, I'm a Dutchman of 58-years.
    Oh befor I close,
    Pretty aand healthy New Year!

So not everything that is in about:config that references Google means you are using Google as your search engine. Alot of them have to do with the Google Safebrowsing malware protection, which simply uses a list (put together by google, Mozilla, stopbadware.org, and others) to warn users if they visit a potentially dangerous site on that list. It doesn't use any private information. You can't remove it from Firefox, nor would you want to.
If you want to change the default search engine, read [[Search bar - Easily choose your favorite search engine]]

  • My IP cameras need ActiveX to record, how can I get ActiveX using Firefox?

I need to record on my IP cameras (Foscam and Wanscam) and need to use ActiveX controls. I only know of Internet Explorer having this add-on. My default browser is Firefox. I can open the cameras using Firefox, but cannot record. How can I download ActiveX to Firefox or is there something else I can use.
    Thank you.

You would need other means to control the camera like a Java applet or a web based interface to be able to use the camera by other browsers apart from IE.

  • How to uninstall and reinstall if firefox is my only internet connection

getting directed to bad place when accessing internet. Did virus scan, found nothing.
How can I uninstall and reinstall firefox since I have no other internet connection. I DO NOT was to load internet explorer.

Bad redirects can result from a variety of causes, including (1) system level malware, (2) system level settings changes, (3) bad Firefox add-on, (4) Firefox settings changes, (5) other (depending on the nature of the redirect).
Here's what I suggest for tracking it down:
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    (3) Check your '''Firefox connection setting''' in the Options dialog here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" connection settings, but you also can try "No Proxy" to see whether that works better.
    (4) Search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Are you able to get rid of the unwanted redirect?

  • At variance with Firefox 3, Firefox 4 does not ask me to save the opened tabs when I quit on having multiple opened tabs. How can I do this in Firefox 4?

In Firefox 3, when I happened to close the program on having multiple opened tabs, Firefox asked me if I wanted to save and remember the opened tabs, so that I could retrieve them at the next Firefox restart. Firefox 4 does not do this anymore. Is it because I have not configured it correctly somehow, or is this normal? How can I recover this function?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrea

One change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''
