Thank you for your response. Using Adobe reader I underline or highlight the answers to the Watchtower study edition down loaded from their web site www.JW.org . Sometimes the whole paragraph inadvertently gets highlighted and then I can't seem to undo it.

However, I need to stream a YouTube video in an interactive PDF document, and when I try to insert the link from YouTube into the "Insert Video from URL" box, ID doesn't recognize it. I assume this is because YouTube video links don't end with a typical video format file-name ending, such as ".mp4" or ".mov"
Has anyone been able to stream a YouTube video into a document using ID 5.5? If so, how did you do it?
Downloading the video and inserting it as a regular video file isn't an option because we need to keep the PDF file size down.

It can't be done. A YouTube video cannot be streamed in any digital publishing media—PDF, EPUB, or DPS.
There are applications which claim to be able to convert a YouTube video into a real digital publishing format like H264-encoded MP4 (preferred), but you'll have to investigate those on your own.

Adobe Acrobat Pro is the most expensive solution.
Since you posted under iMac PPC forum, which is for iMacs that can't run any operating system newer than August 28, 2009, I can't say specifically what the capabilities of your version of Preview are. Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac. If you have an Intel, you do not have a PPC. If you have a G5, G4 or G3, you posted to the right forum, and just need to find the version of Preview you have in Applications folder.

PDF is an end destination format - although Acrobat is capable of making minor changes to a file (e.g. to correct typos) it is not a word processor or DTP application. Major changes must be done in the original document, and the PDF file re-exported.
You can copy text from a file by selecting it and right-clicking, or you can save the file as plain or formatted text. To make small changes to the text on a page, use the touchup tool - see the help file for more info.

My experience with editing a PDF document whether it be a free product or paid, is very few will be able to convert the document say to Microsoft Word 100 percent of the time with perfect accuracy. It depends a lot on the actual layout of the PDF document.
I have used numerous products over the years, some good and some not so good. Depends on the product.
The two that I found the best at a reasonable cost are Nitro PDF Professional and AnyBizSoft. Nitro costing a bit more but offers a lot of additional tools when working with a PDF Document and faster when converting the document.

You can make a PDF file out of you notes and handouts but using the Adobe PDF printer.
Open your PowerPoint Document then go to “File” “Print”
Select ‘Adobe PDF” Printer
Under slides, select which way you want to print. Note it will not print to a printer but to a PDF file.
After then go into printer Properties and Setup PDF properties, do the following: (see second image below)
Default: PDF/A 1-b
Adobe Security: none (change as needed)
Adobe Output folder: Prompt for Adobe file name
Adobe Page size: Letter (change as needed)
Check the following check boxes
View Adobe PDf Results,
Add Document Information,
Rely on system fonts only,
Delete Log files for successful jobs.
Select OK
A pop will ask you where you want to save the document. The file extension should be PDF. After giving the file name select okay and the file should popup as a PDF. Down side is if you want to speaker notes included then you will have to do another file, like wise with just screen shots then combine into one PDF document.
I used Acrobat IX Pro. So to do this you need Acrobat IX or X Pro.

Ah, yes, I'm using Adobe Reader! That makes sense. Thanks so much for your reply. At the moment, I scan Word documents into my computer and they're automatically converted to PDFs. If I had Adobe Acrobat on my computer, and scanned in documents, would they open in Reader automatically or could I open them in Acrobat and therefore add password protection?

Here is one more example that i have modified the GetCell function so that you can use it for adding all the cells to the document. It takes several arguments to specify everything you need to create each cell. It now lets
you specify the Text, the Text Alignment, the Text Font and color, weather the cell shows the Border, the BackColor of the cell, and the Padding values for the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom.
If you study the code you should be able to figure out how it works. From here you can figure out the rest of what you need to do and how to use the
GetCell function.
