How do I un-protect my songs?

Most of my purchased songs are protected and wont play on my ipod, how do i change them?

Where did you purchase these songs from? If they are copy protected songs from the iTunes Store then you don't need to "unprotect" them to load them onto an iPod. If they are iTunes Store songs do they play in iTunes? Play a few seconds of one to make sure your computer is authorised and try adding them to the iPod again.

Next, email the vCard file as an attachment to your account, open the attachment on the iPhone and follow the prompts to add the contacts to the phone.

If you're in the US, you will be able to use iTunes Match for $25 a year to remove copy protection in a few months: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
If you're not, you can't. You can authorise iTunes with the old account in addition to your current account, so all your songs will play, but I'm not sure what will happen if you try to sync them to an iPod.

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

Can not convert protected aac-song to mp3

I want to make an mp3 cd to play in my car, the stereo in my car supports no aac, itunes does not allow to convert aac to mp3, in this way I can not use the songs I bought in the itunes store to be played in my car.

The iTunes Store is in the business of selling songs made with the Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) Codec, otherwise referred to as MPEG-4 files or .m4p's. That's what they sell and, excepting Audiobooks, Podcasts, Videos, TV Shows, Movies and Games (I think I've covered everything) that's all that they sell.
Furthermore, the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store are copy-protected . As a result of this, these songs cannot be converted to other formats, specifically they cannot be converted to the MP-3 format.
There is a workaround, though, for those who may want to make use of purchased songs in a non-AAC compatible application such as an mp-3 player or Windows Movie Maker.
A reminder about your obligations with songs you've bought from iTS is in order before proceeding. First a disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer, although I am old enough to have watched a few episodes of Perry Mason when I was a kid.
Among the Terms of Service agreed to in opening an account with the Music Store is:
9 b. Use of Products. You acknowledge that Products contain security technology that limits your usage of Products to the following Usage Rules, and you agree to use Products in compliance with such Usage Rules.
And among the Usage Rules referred to above:
You shall be entitled to export, burn or copy Products solely for personal, noncommercial use.
Any burning or exporting capabilities are solely an accommodation to you and shall not constitute a grant or waiver (or other limitation or implication) of any rights of the copyright owners in any content, sound recording, underlying musical composition, or artwork embodied in any Product.

Preamble out of the way, So how do you use your purchased songs with an MP-3 device?
First go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Burning tab and select Disc Format: Audio CD . Press OK .
You can now create an Audio CD of your purchased songs.
The next step is to go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Importing tab and select Import Using: MP3 Encoder with the Setting of your choice. Press OK .
Now you can import the Audio CD into iTunes.
Alternatively, the importing of the Audio CD can be done with the media player of your choice.
That's it. You will now have files that you can use with an MP-3 application. It is important to emphasize you are still limited to "personal, noncommercial use" of the songs as per your agreement with iTMS.
Please note that as a result of this process the copies will suffer some loss of audio fidelity compared to the original files.

In ITunes match how do you to select multiple songs to download to pc or do you have to click each one.

First make sure you have the current version of iTunes, which is actually 10.5.1. I had to manually download it from apples website, for some reason, it wouldnt auto-update.

Once that is complete, go to the iTunes store. In the Quick Links secion to the right, you should see iTunes Match. This will prompt you to activate your subscription to iTunes match. After that it should ask you to add your computer and once youve done that, it should begin the process of scanning your library and adding it to the cloud
Alternatively, once you activate your subscription, you can also go to the Store dropdown menu in iTunes and select Turn On iTunes Match.

I am trying to re-download some songs I deleted by mistake. I go to purchases and it only shows me options for Apps and Books, no list for Music. How can I get the music list to show up or alternatively how can I re-download the songs?

By your question, I am wondering if you are playing your music from the iTunes app rather than the Music app?
In the Music App, you can go to any of the options at the bottom and click on a song to play and it will then continue to play the songs in that category. You can also select "Shuffle" to shuffle them.
As for your Photos, did you have them backed up anywhere?

Create a smart playlist with the criteria being location - not on this computer. Then select all, right click and download.

Make a smart playlist of your whole library but only checked songs - #4 on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1801
Highlight all files in that playlist, then drag to the other drive. This isn't preserving any playlists or whatever, just copying files from one drive to another.
You might want to delete the smart playlist this once you are done because it will probably gobble up resources with that many files.

My family shares an itunes account and ALL their songs loaded on my phone with ios 7 upgrade. Previously, while I could SEE songs "Not on this iPhone" they did not reside on my phone. How do I get only my songs? Do I have to sync with my computer? Help...

This is sad, as I am replying to myself. Upon further review I see that while all songs are LISTED, that are not actually there. By going to Settings - iTunes & App Store - "Show All" I was able to "turn off" SEEING purchases not made on my phone. Solved my own problem, but the way it looks in IOS 7 is confusing.
