i have downloaded the add-on for blocksite & i would like to know how i can allow certain web sites as i am on a dating site called plentyoffish & the add-on is blocking it. how can i unblock this site?

You need to remove that domain from the blocklist thru preferences for that extension. See the 3rd screenshot.

Flash itself is not supported on any iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) which is why you can't download it (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/)
Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

You can launch Internet Explorer from its icon on the desktop, Start Menu or the Quick Launch section of the taskbar. If you've lost the shortcuts somehow, you can create one as follows:

Safari "can't connect to the server" message for certain web sites

I recently decided to upgrade my mid-2007 macbook with another GB of memory and then installed snow leopard so that I could run google chrome. While this made my computer run much faster, I am no longer able to connect to certain sites I visit frequently, such as facebook and craigslist. This started when I began using chrome, right after I installed snow leopard, so I attempted to use safari instead, but it will not let me visit these two sites either. Then I tried running firefox and flock, which still won't let me visit the sites.
While the problem began with chrome, I couldn't find any google support articles to solve it. I have explored other threads with similar problems in this forum, but each of them seem to have been able to visit the sites in another browser. I went into each browser and deleted cookies, history, and everything, then uninstalled all browsers and reinstalled safari from the mac os x disc, and I am still unable to visit the sites. I don't have a clue what might be blocking these sites in all browsers.

I apologize for the delay. I took my macbook to the genius bar, and they fixed the issue by deleting some files from the old OS (though I unfortunately don't know how they did this as a manager in the back room took care of it). I still couldn't visit sites using Java as they said Java had somehow installed incorrectly and I would need to reinstall the OS once again to fix this. I continued to use my machine without trying to fix the Java issue for a few weeks. However, without reinstalling the OS, the exact problem has started again. Yesterday I reinstalled OSX 10.6.3 in order to fix the Java issue, hoping it would fix everything, but Java still isn't working, and I still can't visit certain web sites.
I have added those two DNS servers, but that did not solve the issue.
Any advice on how to 1) fix Java and 2) delete the old OS files? I have run all software updates with no luck.

If sites have been blocked, it's either via the restrictions on the device (which have ratings restrictions) or can be something your network has put in place. For example school or public open wifi can block sites based on their own rules or preferences.
If it's blocked via restrictions, then access the restrictions and unblock it (you need that code), if it's blocked by the provider then you talk to them

I am unable to log into certain websites uaing Safari, Google Chrome and FIrefox.
Safari just gives me a red exclamation mark.
Google Chrome does the same thing.
Firefox at least gives me this error message:
"Your browser does not have the Sun Java system component installed or it is incorrectly installed. In order to run the platform, please download and install the latest version by clicking here."
So i click on the link and it takes me here:
http://www.java.com/en/
which is a download site for the latest version of Java. When i click on the download button i get taken to this website:
http://www.java.com/en/download/apple_manual.jsp?locale=en
which basically says that "Apple supplies their own version of Java". There is a link to the Apple store and instructions on how to get the latest software updates for your operating system (mine is OS X 10.6.8 - Snow Leopard).
I have the latest version of all updates, there is nothing for me to update!!
So i search the Apple store support area for the latest version of Java and download that (Java For Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8). Turns out i already have this version on my Mac. Still doesnt work!!!
Am not impressed. I read somewhere that Apple is always behind in its Java updates and if a website you are trying to access has a later version, well, to bad for you. If that is the case that is very poor form for a company with record Billion dollar profits. This experience has put me off purchasing further Macs.

I had a website (snapfish) that I put in browser and saved as favorite then put a widget on homepage for easy acceess and I put a screen name in instead of my email address and everytime i try to log in the screen name is on log in and I erase and put in email address but when I hit log in it reverts to wrong name again so cant access my snapfish account. I dont want all my sites to be erased out of browser favorites so is there a way to erase snapfish account out of browser bookmarks and then start over so I can put in correct log in names?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Exensions tab.
If there are any installed, switch the button to off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If there is more than one extension insalled, uninstall one a time, quit and relaunch Safari and test.

Certain web sites won't load on any browser on Macbook Pro

Starting yesterday certain web sites won't load on any browser (Safari or Chrome). These include sites like the New England Journal of Medicine, Washington Post, and English Bulldog News. I get an error message in Safari that the server took too long to respond and in Chrome I get a connection timeout error message. I updated Adobe Flash with a clean install as I was unable to update using the standard method due to connection timeout. That restored my access to YouTube video but today it takes ~2 minutes to load a YT video. Web sites are loading fine on my phone and household PCs.
Not sure if it is notable that my internet loading capacity has been very slow for some time. I worked with the internet company to increase the network speed but my computer has not seen benefit. No problems on the PCs in our house but my Macbook very frequently gets partially "kicked-off" the network as indicated by yellow lights seen next to the "internet" and "server" items in my Network Diagnostics utility.
I looked at old threads and ran EtreCheck (see results copied below) as was recommended to another user several months ago, but would appreciate any thoughts about where to go from here.
